Staff seemed to be all backpackers with varying skill. Check in took two hours. The room was not ready on time. Many of the bathrooms were old with broken doors etc. The second floor Mens showers and toilets were renovated and good.Hot showers in the morning was hit and miss. Three out of the five showers I had were cold. The kitchen was ok but had broken ceiling lights and the fridges and shelves...

Pros (+) Great location and the staff were friendly - I can't complain for the price though and would probably stay again.
Cons (-) The place was a bit dingy and the shower took a very long time to warm up a bit.

Pros (+) It's close to the bus station.
Cons (-) Run-down overall. Really lumpy pillow. Couldn't open window to air out hot, smelly room. Not overly comfortable neighborhood. Paid more for this place than other hostels in Auckland that were much better.
