Pros: From the minute I entered the hotel I was made to feel very welcome. I was greeted at the front desk by Raj and his supervisor who allowed me to choose a snack from the pantry as a welcome gift for staying there. The bedroom was clean and modern. It was located near everything so easy to walk to everything in the inner harbor
Cons: A block away fron the hotel are some strip clubs. I was there on a Saturday and didn't hear a thing. If you walk on the other side of the hotel you can avoid seeing. They also had Fox News showing at breakfast. Literally any other channel would have been better.
"Located in Downtown Baltimore, this historic hotel is within a 15-minute walk of Walters Art Museum, Washington Monument and USS Constellation. National Aquarium in Baltimore and Oriole Park at Camden Yards are also within 15 minutes. Charles Center Station is only a 2-minute walk and University Center-Baltimore Street Station is 4 minutes. Pros: The historic hotel was lovingly restored. The original interior ornament and contemporary furnishings really lent to an upscale experience. The piano accompaniment in the lobby and bar area accented the enormity of the space, creating intimacy in its double-height room. The room itself was generous in size, and the bath had deep marble window sills and natural light, with a full size tub and free-standing sink. There was also a small coffee alcove. We were on a corner, and had 3 large windows. For a small room, the floor plan was very clever. Having a mini fridge was a welcome plus; and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shampoo and conditioner portions were generous, and the scent was lovely. The room was spotless, as was the hotel.
Cons: Bartender was very slow. We werent acknowledged for over 10 minutes upon seating, and she was preoccupied with a non-customer male, to the extent that I had to get up from my seat and interrupt them when I needed my bill.

Pros: We arrived extremely early the day of our check in and decided to just see if they had any rooms available well before the normal 4pm check in time. They did! It made our day so much easier because we were able to check in and then go about the rest of your day like planned. We are a young couple so we definitely took advantage of how close we were to the Inner Harbor (about a 10 minute walk). We came back later in the day to freshen up and take a little nap, right as we laid down the smoke detector started beeping (battery was low), called the front desk and less than a minute later they had someone up there to fix it!
Cons: Not one to believe in ghosts/spirits or paranormal activity, but We both woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of wimpering/crying which we read is apparently from the little girl who died there many many years ago. Although it could have just been someone outside, still freaked me out a little! Other than that our stay was perfect.

Pros: I like the rooms and the classy look.
Cons: I was Here on business and went outside for a smoke break and in the middle of the night a few black men tried and rob me and I tried to defend myself and I was latterly jumped by a group and there was no one at the hotel that helped me . I can't believe they would allow such horrible activities and behavior in front of the hotel with no one there willing to help protect their customers. And than I asked for a security tape to see why and how it all happen and their response was they know nothing. How can you let such hateful and violent things happen as letting your customers get hurt and no one there to help protect the people who stay at the hotel. I see the staff and people at the hotel can care less what happens at the hotel or outside their front door. I can't believed they had the nerves to tell me I'm still being charged for the room for 3 days after the same night I showed up I was in the emergency room till the next morning and they had the nerve to still charge me . I see the hotel people can care less what happens there as long as they get their money . How can the hotel let such horrific things happen in their presence and expect for people to feel comfortable renting a room there . That's the worst experience I've ever endured staying at a hotel. I was in the emergency room with a broken nose and broken rib cage and no one wanted to help me . They practically just looked the other way. If that's how hotels operate and let their customers get hurt and possible killed than I will never rent and or be a client for that hotel ever .

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay. The layout and design of their "lobby" was very modern with an industrial twist to the decor. They don't have the typical imposing front desk. Instead staff meets you at the door with a tablet and checks you in. The elevators are extra secure with room key only access. There is valet parking which is extra, but well worth it as we would have spent the same or thereabouts at a parking garage. Our room was amazing and nicely decorated. Excellent bed, excellent shower, but next time we will bring a cooler. Our room had a great view and was very close to the venue at Rams Head Live where we were headed. The next day there was a great band playing in the lobby so we stayed longer for that too. Most of all their staff was incredible!!! They were always friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to do anything for you. That includes the maid in the elevator who gave us the history of the building and the head engineer who was helping out in their great bar/restaurant when they were way overloaded with people. Great experience from beginning to end. We can't wait to come back.

Pros: Stayed in a huge king bed room. Lots of empty space that could have been filled with a couch and coffee table with the TV in front of it. But they chose to place the TV to the right side of the bed making it awkward to watch. With this tiny one person mini couch directly under the TV. ..What the point of that? The front desk staff need a little more training. And a button or something indicating that they work there. They're all in regards clothes. A guy looking to check in thought I worked there when I went down to see what was the hold up on the extra towels I called down for 2 hours prior.

Pros: I couldn't have asked for more from the Red Lion. Gorgeous rooms, wood floors (a HUGE plus for me because of my allergies), a shockingly short walk to the Charm City Circulator's Purple line, wonderful and warm staff who go beyond the call of duty, and all for a very low last minute price!! I am also very picky about hotel beds as I have a bad back but this bed was everything I wanted. Not to mention all of the communal amenities I simply did not have a chance to check out because my trip was short! There is, apparently, a 24 hour gym and the lobby seems to be a wonderful place to relax, socialize, and create a sense of a hotel community. The Red Lion seems equiped to foster vacation friendships one would expect of an extended resort stay on an island somewhere, despite the fact that it is located in the heart of Baltimore. If anyone I know ever needs a hotel in Baltimore, I will insist they stay at the Red Lion.
Cons: Honestly, my only qualm was that I only booked a room for one night. Had I known how wonderful my accommodations would be, I may have extended my trip! Oh, and a full body mirror would be nice, but its absence was in no way a deal breaker.

Pros: - location and fun atmosphere - nice tv - great amenities like bikes to rent and live music - easy to book - awesome soap in a very large bathroom - tile floor in bathroom with no door to bathroom and hardwood in entrance and around the bed. easy to clean. - made to look modern and minimal
Cons: - GF claimed to be bitten by bed bugs. - The potatoes with the RL breakfast were soggy and the egg whites in the skinny scramble were under cooked. - closet was odd with downward sloping hangers too small for business jackets, no dressers. - too few electrical outlets. in order to charge your phone you had to place it under the tv all outlets next bed were overloaded with phone lamp and alarm clock.

Pros: good location, only a couple blocks from the inner harbor and the power plant live, room was comfortable, lobby was quaint, staff helpful
Cons: could have used a bell hop service. if they had one, must have been busy. only saw one cart for luggage. lucky it was only me and my adult son, light on bags. :)

Pros: All staff were extremely friendly. Valet (Jody) went above and beyond to assist and always had a smile on his face. Decor is appealing and modern, the rooms were spacious and nicely done. Pets are allowed however if you are traveling without a pet you would never know dogs are in the building in regards to cleanliness and the occasional bark. Close proximity to all attractions. Elevator security features were a plus. Would definitely stay again
Cons: Bedding had stains, no mini fridge or microwave in the room, check-in a little awkward

Pros: I liked the bikes for use, the game room, the lounge/cafe/restaurant. I also appreciate the stage for community engagement and fitness room. The room itself was small but had a large, luxurious bathroom.
Cons: It didn't have a business center. I had to ask the front desk attendant to print items for me. Parking was additional and somewhat expensive.

Pros: Large comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: No closet, shelves or drawers, so no place to put things like laundry out of sight! No desk (although when I inquired they brought up a small table and chair that worked OK). Instead of the Murphy bed (which I had no use for) I would prefer a desk and dresser or cupboard.

Pros: Room was a suite so it was large and comfortable, Windows on two sides of the room. Bed was comfortable. Two types of pillows to choose from. Hotel breakfast was hot, pre-prepared food; pretty good selection. TV rotated to face bed or couch. Good sized closet with ample hangers. Safety bars in two locations on the tub. Sink with large mirror in the suite (wet bar) which gave another place to put on make-up or place personal items other than the bathroom. Elevators responded quickly. Easy walk to several restaurants.
Cons: I called the hotel to make the reservation because we needed a walk-in shower. My husband had knee surgery and would have difficulty stepping over the edge of a tub. We were told this room would have a walk-in tub. It did not. We managed but I was disappointed because we paid more for this room to get that feature. Water in the tub was very hard to regulate...either blistering hot or ice cold. It was very hard to find the spot that made the water "warm". No safe for valuables.

Pros: The breakfast buffet was large and clean. Fresh options and heavier breakfast items both offered. The oatmeal and juice bar were a nice surprise. All the employees were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: We loved how close it was in walking distance to the inner harbor. The breakfast was fantastic! We loved our stay. The staff was so nice, and the hotel was beautiful.
Cons: Just that we were in a room near the elevator which isn't ideal when you are trying to put little ones to bed early, but that is an easy fix of just requesting a room away from there.

Pros: Room was clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Great location - a few minutes walk to the harbour and the aquarium. The building used to be a bank from the 1900s and they have retained a lot of interesting features. Great selection for the included breakfast.
Cons: The only parking is valet ($35 per day). On the last day (a Sunday) we went to breakfast an hour before it was due to end and there was no coffee left. We were there for 30 minutes, but it was never replenished, even though I and was told more was on its way. This is a minor annoyance. I would stay here again.

Pros: I liked the location.
Cons: I had booked a deluxe king room and prepaid. When I arrived I was told that there were no more deluxe king rooms available and the only room available had two beds and bunk beds. Confused I showed the gentleman behind the desk my conformation with room type and he told me that there was no guarantee on room type. He was rude and said thats all they had and if I didn't want it I could stay somewhere else. When I got into the room, there was an entire wall with a dog mural staring at me. The room wasn't clean, carpet dirty, hair in sink, then I walked into the bedroom and it is the strangest decor I have ever seen. Hip doesn't mean nothing matches and the most unattractive color palate ever! The furniture was visibly beat up, scratched and marks all over. The wall had multiple black marks all over and the toilet was running. I put my things down and headed to the front desk before leaving for dinner to advise them of the running toilet. Upon my return 2 hours later, as I opened the door to my room and the toilet was still running and I went to call the desk. My room was facing the the windows of other hotel rooms and I found myself rushing to close the curtains because a man across the way was watching me and being "self serving" - not the hotels fault, I know, but very creepy none the less. I wet down to the desk to ask about my toilet and the new gentleman at the desk said he had no record of my earlier complaint and there was no one from engineering to be able to fix it. I asked for another room and he said there weren't any, so I went upstairs and promptly checked out at 12:30 am, off to find another hotel. I asked not to be charged, but since I had prepaid, he said there was nothing he could do.

Pros: Very helpful staff, great, clean and cozy room. We appreciated the rollaway, which was really far beyond the cot-like thing we had sort of expected (we added another person to the room after making the reservation, so knew it would be tight). We really appreciated the help with that and with extra toothpaste/brush. Thankful that quality is always high across any Kimpton hotels I've stayed at.
Cons: It seemed like it would have been helpful if there were more staff on-hand at peak times for check-in, etc. Staff was great and helpful, but having worked at a front desk, this one seemed like it could have benefited from a few more people.

Pros: I was attending a conference for most of the trip, and my partner also joined to check out local sites. It was a decent location within walking distance to a number of good restaurants and museums.
Cons: The room was somewhat small and the floor appeared to not have been vacuumed in a while (as noted by the dozens of small beads that were from a bracelet of a former inhabitant). I find the sliding bathroom door to be somewhat unusual since it didn't allow for privacy in the slightest. Lastly, we had to go to the front desk once a day to get the room key cards re-magnetized, so that we could enter the elevator to the room and our room.

Location is close to Inner Harbor, but not a great area as far as vagrants and crime. Front desk staff who worked the night shift did not wear a mask either.

Pros: Very satisfied overall, especially with the breakfast and the coffee station that was stocked at least until 5:00 PM. Room was very spacious, and comfortably held three of us.
Cons: The key car I had quit working four or so times over just a few days, which was frustrating.

Cons: Having a rat bait/trap in the breakfast area is enough for me to never go back.

Pros: Loved the room-extremely comfortable bed, smart design, bright and fresh. Loved the staff-no nonsense, friendly, helpful, wonderful smiles.
Cons: The ice machine directly outside the room-very minor irritant from the noise when ice was dispensed. $32 Valet parking per day through the hotel when one can park in the St. Paul St. garage only two blocks away for a fraction of the cost. This was disappointing because the third party through which the room was booked indicated the hotel provided parking but did not explain it was Valet for $32/day. The hotel does not validate parking in the garage.

Pros: The ONLY bright spot was the fact that a lady named Sharonda actually made us want to stay there, suggested and AND DID something to make us stay. Otherwise, EVERYTHING was bad. We would have left if it wasn't for Sharonda.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't ready on time, Linda was completely unaccomodating, linens were never changed in 8 nights, cleaning was minimal, the water pressure was low, they gave a key to our room to someone else, there was MOLD on the breakfast sandwiches for breakfast, the toilet seat was broken and the laundry area beside the gym had people's old clothes that were NEVER removed and were out in view, thrown EVERYWHERE.

Cons: My overall experience was okay but the parking was confusing. I would've liked for my parking to be free for staying with the hotel, especially because the rooms are pricy. I stayed at the Embassy in Philly and for $50 more I had a balcony, an extra bed and a larger living room area. I think this place is only valuable because of the location. I was able to walk to the lounge my boyfriend and I went to so that was great, was only seven minutes from our destination. There's not many late night food options though, we ended up driving to IHOP around 1 a.m. and it was a 20 minute drive.

Pros: I've been to a few Embassy Suites, I enjoy a few drinks, best bar staff and cocktail offering I've experience at an ES. I never made it to the breakfast. I didn't want to spoil my appetite for the nearby Vietnamese food, it was sooooo good.
Cons: The snacks at the manager's reception were disappointing. Couldn't adjust the temperature in the room. There wasn't a fan in the bathroom... All minor stuff really, would definitely stay there again.

Cons: The room I stayed has no hot water, instead of dealing it right away by switching room they decided to have utility staff to “fix” it. It was of course not fixed next day. Then they switched me to another room with very slow and delayed key exchange. It didn’t seem anyone cared much if or not this was handled correctly. The room itself was not very good. It has molded smell.

The parking is an issue, you either park on the street and pay 15 or pay at valet in the front for 40. They are rude and not professional at all. I was told that if i leave my car out there for 5 minutes, I will be charged? Apparently the valet does not belong to hotel and they hotel staff has no means to deal with them. you are on your own. My wife and I had friends staying also and when they got to their room the front door was broken so it wouldn't close or lock and the room was still dirty. Cons: The sink didn't drain, there was no climate control whatsoever (there was a programmable thermostat in the room, but I don't think it was attached to anything) so, would advise against staying here late may- early October unless you like sleeping in extreme heat. TV was 100% broken, but luckily the wifi worked so I could watch Internet TV. Staff did 0 to change anything. I'm really surprised Best Western has their name on this place. Pros: Staff was fantastic for all that my group put them through (we needed several extra blankets and towels, realizing this in two trips). Room was quiet, but only suitable for one adult. Staff was also kind enough to call a cab for us when we were running late so the cab could meet us when we got to the lobby; this ended up making all the difference in the world.
Cons: Room was VERY small, there were small blood stains on the sheets and one of the pillows, wasn't crazy about the air conditioner in the room, bathroom had NO circulation whatsoever (so after a shower it was too humid to breathe) and bathroom door was as creaky as something out of a horror movie, so it woke everyone up whenever someone had to take a bathroom run in the middle of the night.

Pros: The only thing positive I can find to say about this hotel is that it wasn't infested with bugs. I'm still not sure why, given the complete absence of cleaning services.
Cons: Room was need of repair: door deadlock wouldn't latch, shower door replaced by curtain held by pipe clamps, broken towel rack, peeling wall paper, sticky floor and elevator. No cleaning service for entire week. Took 24+ hours to get broken glass picked up, small shards still in carpet. Desk staff inactive and indifferent. Wifi slower than a fax machine. Pros: Good location within Baltimore. Only a 7 minute walk from the Bay area and a 7 minute walk to the convention center. In a busy, but very safe part of town. A 5-7 minute walk north will put you in Mt. Vernon neighbor hood which has lots of shops and little boutiques. If you are looking for an economical stay with access to some of the best of Baltimore this hotel will get you there. The room was clean and the service was reliable and good.
Cons: The building is admittedly old and is between a gold pawn shop and a dry cleaners (not exactly the best looking area). The lobby is small and its clear the that building is a very old building that would need a LOT of renovation for it to become truly aesthetically pleasing.
