Gave my license to the counter employee and then after several awkward minutes of no communication from the employee I asked if everything was in order. “I can’t check you in because there are no cars ready”. I then asked how long my wait would be the answer was “I have no idea”. Fortunately the car was ready in about 10 minutes. I found the car and noticed the windshield was dirty and the smell of the cleaner they use was so potent that it gave me a headache on my 16 hour drive. Long story short the car wasn’t ready, the check in employee was borderline rude and the car smell was terrible. Other than that it was great!

Admittedly, I haven't rented a car in a long time. The new, apparently across-the-industry policy of not using a debit card unless the reservation is made 24 hours in advance was a surprise. The manager at the location I attempted to rent from could have been way more helpful and understanding. I didn't cuss anyone out that day, but it wasn't because he didn't deserve it. Of course, I never got the rental. Thanks for nothing, Hertz.

I reserved at a close by airport and not airport and it was quickly resolved. We needed a car because we didn't board a cruise ship for the Bahamas during a hurricane on 8/17. We needed to drive back to Cleveland. The Enterprise reservation error was mine. On arriving at BWL at the car rental center Rylee at the enterprise counter easily corrected the information and made the checkin super easy and friendly. Soon we were on our way. Then the return of the car at CLE was just as seamless.. No question that our interaction with Rylee at BWL will impact my car rental selection every trip in the future and go with Enterprise. Terrible. I recommend avoiding Budget in Baltimore. They first promised a car at noon from a downtown Baltimore location. When I arrived to pick it up, they told me my car wasn’t ready but maybe would be in an hour. An hour later, still no car, and the downtown location was closing at 2. They suggested I contact Budget and change the pickup to the airport, which I did. The person I talked to changed my reservation and promised a confirming email. I never got the email and when I arrived at the airport location, the line there was about 10 long and wasn’t moving. Eventually , I got a car at about 330 pm.

I reserved a van over two months ahead of time. They called me at 8 PM the night before I was going to pick it up and told me there is no van. I had to go with a different company the next morning and pay twice as much. Making a reservation apperently does not reserve anything - be aware of this.
