Bangkok hotels near Thanon Khao San

Pros: There were 2 bars in this hotel which seemed to be popular for the 20+. The views at night were great. They had a selection of beers which were pretty good. There was a pier 5 minutes away where we could catch to ride on a boat to a bts station for 15฿.

Cons: The smell from the river was not enjoyable. No Western food near by. To catch a taxi or bus you needed to walk pretty far since the roads were only wide enough for moter bikes.

Pros: The proximity to the nightlife. Back away from a main street. Housekeeping was quick and effective when asked to do a quick tidy up

Cons: The shower design was in such a way that a person who did this for a living would shiver. Water damage will be a problem in the future. You had to put in your wifi every time to log in. An auto log out is put in place for the customers safety.

Pros: Chillax was a fabulous find In a quiet street, but close to Khosan rd Hotel was high quality, and had excellent places close by to eat and drink, especially Mr Lek at Jok Pochana and Cha’s Bar

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Great location and vicinity. Rooms basic but clean, and good en suite wet room. Pool area very nice, with a good view

Cons: Pool water wasn't the cleanest, and greasy

Pros: Perfect location! Close to Khaosan Rd but far enough to still be quiet at night.

Cons: Harder for solo traveller to meet other travellers, very large hotel.

Pros: The roof-top pool was nice, decent breakfast buffet.

Cons: The staff was very unfriendly and rude, not helpful at all. Part of the hotel does not have elevator service. The first room they tried to stick me in was a 3rd floor noisy walk-up. The room looked old and unkept. I tried to get another room but the receptionist claimed all rooms were booked, (she was not professional at all). I decided I wanted my money back, but she said I had to pay for one full night if I canceled. I asked to speak to the manager who wasn't there. She called the manager and I told her I wasn't happy with the current situation. They finally found a small pint size room on the 5th floor with an elevator, but I still found the room to be old and tired looking (AC didn't work properly). I stayed the night and put up with lots of noise due to the bad acoustics in the hallway, and bathrooms that vent into the hallway which cause more noise, stink, and humidity. (I didn't get any type of compensation for moving into a smaller 1/4 of the size room) The next morning (2nd night) they moved me into a large room on the other side of the building, which I found clean. AC, TV worked fine. Unfortunately again the hallways were very noisy, other guests were loud. I would skip this place if your looking for a good nights sleep. Your definitely not going to get it unless you drink a case of beer. Cheers!

Cons: Here is very poor. And Khao San Rd is very noisy. You couldn't sleep if you stay here.

Pros: Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was close to the touristy places like grand palace, Buddha statues, and temples.

Cons: I was unaware that the location would be hippy central for all the white people suffering their post-grad life crises. Lots of weathered westerners trying to look like they wished they looked in college. Weird place. Far from the heart of Bangkok, and far from the normal Thai people, and far from the train system. Not good if you are trying to get real Thai experience. Good if you want to be surrounded by white Europeans with dreads and broken dreams.

Pros: Front desk and tour sales staff were awesome!! The location was great, the breakfast decent and the pool was ok.

Cons: We moved rooms twice. Once because someone smoke before us and second because we woke up to red ants on us.
