I actually had an issue-filled rental experience with my tire losing pressure and it turned out there was a nail in it. I reached out to roadside assistance before I understood the issue (due to the tire pressure light coming on twice-- the second time being 24-hours after I filled it). I was in a town that didn't have a rental (3 hours from the original Chicago rental location, 1 hour from Moline). I was told roadside assistance would cost me, so went out on my own, into a Walmart where they took a quick look, found the nail, and put on the donut for me. So had to drive slowly to Moline, switch cars, then finally back to Chicago having missed an afternoon reservation due to the whole delay. It was a debacle... but my whole point of writing this is to make sure to praise the two in-person women who helped me-- first, the one at Chicago Midway who helped me on the way in and out, and the woman at the Moline Airport. This was a very stressful experience and their support and great costumer service saved the whole thing. I want to be sure they get recognition for their patient, caring customer service and hard work.Reviewed 29 Oct 2026

The return process was a problem. They said there was a dent in the car and that I was unaware of. They said it was my fault but I didn’t damage the car. It was on the passenger side and I didn’t look at that side of the car.Reviewed 29 Oct 2026

We rented an electric car and it smelled like someone smoked in it. Also it had no charger adapters to use for Tesla fast charging. And the charging station we tried to fill it back, the car wasn’t accepting the charge. And the station said it was our car. If you’re going to offer and rent an electric the customer should be provided more resources inside the car and some guidance if there are issues with the model. Appallingly dishonest experience with the insurance offering, and then Europcar is now trying to screw us on the return with a false claim of uncovered damage despite having been pressed into purchasing the highest cost coverage directly from them. I see now why everyone calls car rentals in Europe a complete scam. Single worst customer service experience I have ever had.
