Drove from Detroit to Phoenix. 1 hour 45 minutes to get car at pick up. One person working counter. Forced to pay for upgrade because reserved car (or like) was not available. Car drove fine until 50 miles east of El Paso. Oil life left at 5% message came on. Middle of nowhere. No cell service. 90 degrees. No shade. Stressed about not making it to El Paso. Did make it and drove immediately to the first budget place (small one) rep there said oil change not needed to another 5k miles. Apparently, it was nit reset upon previous oil change. Unacceptable. Went to airport and swapped car out. Took 2 1/2 hours out of travel time. Horrible experirnceReviewed 4 June 2026

I ordered an intermediate SUV and got a Dodge Hornet. I should have known better about what I was receiving ...my bad. The agent did offer an upgrade but I was in a hurry to leave, next time I will be more informed.Reviewed 3 June 2026

The pick up was slow because the renting broker did not complete the full insurance for the car, it kept giving errors. Budget / Avis is not reachable through the phone, nor are the offices helpful. I could not reach them as I wanted to extend my rental, which left me in a very diffıcult situation. Drop off in Lille (France) was a nightmare. The office phone number on the contract was wrong. Trying to reach them through their general number was not possible. I'm still waiting for them to return my deposit. It's an absolute nightmare to work with them or get anything done, whether you're trying through the phone or in their offices. I would like to request my deposit ASAP please.Reviewed 3 June 2026

The pick up was disappointing at Budget. It took 2 hours past our pick up time for the car to be ready. About 20 people had to wait 2-2.5 hours. Some people missed important events and many were very angry. Not a good experience. The drop off was fine so it brought the score up to mediocre.Reviewed 2 June 2026

Good car, typical European forced technology not a fan of that. Excellent ride, mpg, car does ride low if you’re moving 4-5 people and bags it may drag over speed bumps and such.Reviewed 2 June 2026
