Upon checking in, there was a surprise deposit of $100 for the room, which as far as I remember, was not mentioned before booking. The beds were lumpy and the lobby smelled like urine. But the hotel was in a great location for our needs.

Loved the location and the staff. However, for the beds they had a plain duvet with no cover. In place of a duvet cover they put a plain sheet below and on top of the duvet which obviously never stayed in place. We have stayed in much nicer hotels for the same price. Not worth the price that we paid.

Pros (+) Excellent location and decent breakfast with good coffee. Good shopping on the north and south side of the river. Pros (+) We liked how breakfast was available on every floor, the location (pretty central to our interests), the price was good and there was relatively inexpensive parking next door.
Cons (-) View from the room was basically an alley and parking lot, not the best view in Chicago by any means. Breakfast ends a little early. Free drinks at the "lounge" was a great surprise but the lounge itself is a bizarre little room.

Pros (+) I was pleasantly surprised about our stay. We travel a lot and typically stay at places we are familiar with. However, this place was perfect! Location, staff, room.....everything was great! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Chicago. I think the most impressive part was the great staff. They understand customer service and they were on their game at all times!

Cons (-) The check in desks aren't the best, it gets congested and it's loud. The evening reception is nice however I received one coin for one drink?! I saw many others with many coins for drinks.

Pros (+) The location was great! It was trendy and clean and comfortable. Love the free continental breakfast on each floor. We also got two free drink tokens for a happy hour they host - which was a nice pre-dinner drink for us! They were also able to accommodate us last minute for an early check-in which was super helpful.
Cons (-) Everything was a little small (hotel room, lobby, etc). It was modern and boutique-like, but I wouldn't consider it a luxury hotel.

Pros (+) Enjoyed our stay at the Kinzie. Loved the continental breakfast on our floor every morning, as well as the spread provided during happy hour. Within 5 minute walk of 3 L train stations. Would definitely stay here again!!

Pros (+) We were very happy with the Kinzie Hotel. The location was very convenient for the Oriental Theater, as well as for dinner locations afterward. We appreciated the continental breakfast provided on each floor. We found the room very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially appreciated the friendly staff and we look forward to staying here again.
