Car hire at Santander Airport

Santander Airport is home to around five car hire companies operating out of the airport every day, and the company desks are located in the main arrivals hall and inside the luggage claim area. AVIS and Budget are located on the far left, inside the luggage claim area, while Europcar and Enterprise are to the left of the exit as you leave luggage claim. Hertz and OK are on the right as you walk into the arrivals hall from luggage claim, and SIXT is located right across the hall, close to the exit gates.

Santander Airport doesn't have a dedicated car hire centre and instead has companies operating out of the airport and from a parking garage outside. You will have access to the airport amenities when picking up your car hire at Santander Airport, which include both standard and accessible toilets, shops and restaurants. If you need to grab a bite to eat or use the restroom before driving out, we suggest doing so at the airport. Once you've filled out your forms, you'll be escorted to the parking garage for vehicle inspection and be given the car keys.

The majority of car hire companies at the airport have a minimum age of 21, while others require you to be at least 23. If you're younger than 25, companies tend to add an extra surcharge to your car hire, for being a young driver. You must have a valid licence that's at least a year old. You'll be asked for a valid form of ID, usually your passport, and you must present a valid credit card in your name. If the booking has been paid for online, the credit card and the owner must be present when collecting the vehicle.  

Car hire companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Santander Airport to off-airport locations include Ace, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Europcar, Goldcar Rental SP, Hertz, and keddy by Europcar.
