Pros:How easy the whole process was and the car choice wasn’t badCons:The total price for a day was crazy with all the different charges that was added that bring it to the grand total. If they can remove some of those different hidden fee it would be better for customersReviewed 5 Oct. 2020

Pros:you gave me a choice of car modelCons:We were deceived we arrived and the car that we ordered it was not there and they tried to give us a very dirty and scratched car when we asked to replace it with another one we were told that this is the only pickup that is where we lost half an hour of time to cancel the order and change the company that provides rental cars, fortunately, the other company was in the same airport room but our experience showed that this is very not professional and looks like a customer's deception.Reviewed 26 Jan. 2021

Pros:The process was relatively speedy. The car was clean. Drop-off was quick and easy. The sales agent at the desk as well as the rental car return people were very friendly and helpful.Cons:The sales agent's [as well as Alamo's website's] insistence that I purchase insurance for the vehicle was a bit irritating. Many credit-card holders, including myself, are automatically covered through their credit card company for rental car coverage and purchasing additional coverage from the rental car company can often negate the credit card company's coverage. For this reason I felt Alamo's insistence on further insurance to be, in a way, predatory. Past that, the sales agent was extremely helpful. Points to her. Additionally, the young man operating the rental car pick-up area ignored me for five minutes before indicating out of the corner of his mouth that I should take whatever car I want. Well, okay then!Reviewed 12 Oct. 2016

Bad customer servicePros:The price was the best I could find at the timeCons:The lady that helped me form Alamo was extremely unprofessional, was irritated that I was in line, while she was wanting to help someone needing help finding the Enterprise counter (Note I was waiting in line and not pushing her to help me yet). She unpleasantly took my documents, registered me, then sent me in the wrong direction to find the car. I had to ask someone else, who sent me back past the Alamo counter in the exact opposite direction from where the lady sent me. Before I could ask any questions, she left her post to walk the Enterprise customer to their counter.Reviewed 13 Dec. 2017

Cons:After I received the confirmation of the rental reservation from Alamo, I drove two and a half hours to Houston airport to pick it up. Once I arrived at Alamo I was told that because the reservation was made within the last twenty- four hours, the reservation would not be honored. I was told that they would not rent me a car and that there was no car for me. No option or possible resolution was offered. I was left to navigate my circumstance on my own having wasted three hours and driving over a hundred miles for a reservation that was deemed not important by the company. Never again Alamo.Reviewed 5 Oct. 2020

Cons:Mechanical issues and had to return call. Lost half a day of my vacation trying to exchange the car. Then Alamo charged me for an extra day which now I have to contest.Reviewed 26 Nov. 2020

No carCons:Reserved the car in Houston before Hurricane Harvey. In the days leading to my trip (after the hurricane) I confirmed twice. The first time I called Alamo and was assured I had a car despite the hurricane. Two days before the trip I talked to Alamo in Houston (at the airport) and again was assured I had a car. The day before my trip I received an email that there were no cars. I realize there was a hurricane, which is why I called to confirm. I am more disappointed with the communication and customer service than with the fact there was no car available.Reviewed 12 Sep. 2017

Front desk staff lack honestyPros:Our car performed well and was clean.Cons:Front desk gentleman told 2 lies: first, that gas was more expensive away from the airport so we should prepay for our gas (it was 40 cents cheaper outside the airport) and second, he asked "would you like limited or full liability?" Our answer was neither and he said okay. However, when my brother checked in 2 hours later, he was told he HAD to get insurance when he declined explaining his car insurance would cover his rental car. That is a lie that he has to purchase their insurance. Honesty is lacking in their check-in personnel.Reviewed 16 May 2017

Ruined my tripPros:NothingCons:I was traveling with my license from the DMV on paper. I lost my license and it was my replacement from the DMV until the hard version arrives in the mail in up to three weeks. I contacted Alamo in Florence, SC with this information ahead of time to ensure I did not have trouble with my rental.. To be clear I rented a car in SC and drove it to Atlanta. I flew to Houston from Atlanta and went to pick up another Alamo rental in Houston. However, the rental office in Houston refused to rent me the car. Even though I told them I had proof of renting the car in SC and that the license was valid and states all requires license information with my name and I had a valid passport on hand to validate my photo. Not only did they refuse but they laughed at me as if I was an idiot and didn't even take the time to contact someone above them to verify the procedure. They were completely rude and I will never use Alamo again. The situation completely ruin e this part of my trip as I was driving my grandmother to stay with my uncle and then driving myself to another airport to catch a flight home. My flight there was delayed so we were already late and didn't have time to try and find another rental alternative. Instead I had to call my grandma and uber by herself to go to my uncles and I had to call myself an uber to make it to the other airport. Was such a nightmare!Reviewed 20 Oct. 2015
