I liked the flexibility in changing reservation dates, easy of pick up, drop off and calls to address inquiries. The only lowlight was the difference in cost between what was shared with me during reservation and as of drop off.

Pickup & drop off was relatively painless. Neither rep demonstrated a welcoming attitude. All business. Pickup rep was eating while helping the customer ahead of me at pickup.A quick review of operating functions would have been helpful. I am a senior citizen not used to the new electronic wizardry. My wife & I spent a few minutes doing that at pickup and later again with headlight & windshield wiper settings. Picking up a vehicle and being thrust into traffic with rainy weather is not my idea of fun.

Nothing- see belowThis was the worst rental car experience of my life. I got to the airport and was told that my reservation was cancelled with no warning! Apparently Alamo had sold out all their cars. This was a major inconvenience for me, as I ultimately had to spend $270 getting to and from my destination, instead of the $120 I had paid. If I had also known this before arriving I could have also tried making different arrangements, but also found out that everyone else was sold out by the time I got there too. This was a massive inconvenience and I will never use Alamo again, and it made me seriously question my use of Kayak as well

The refuelling options were not given to me on pickup, so when I returned it full of gas I was still charged for a full tank. I then had to spend 30 minutes on hold to speak to someone and get that sorted. The last car I rented from Budget they charged me twice and I had a 2 week battle to prove that and get my money back. Will not be using these fraudsters again!

I had a reservation made and when I got to the airport they had no cars available for me. They also offered no solutions to help me get to my hotel. They told me to come back the next day and when I did they still had no car available. And still continued to offer no help or apologies. Terrible customer service. Terrible business management. I ended up going to Hertz and they were wonderful. No issues with them and I'd recommend them to anyone.

The car drove smoothly however the customer service was trash and this is the second time that I’ve used this company within the month and have been charged hidden fees I.e… brought the car on full and got charged $54 for a fuel fee… the last time I was charged for a car seat that I didn’t request and a late fee! I will not be using this company again, it lacks integrity and honesty.

They gave me a vehicle and its front bumper almost fell off while i was driving. I had to go back to the rental place and exchange it. Almost 2 hr was lost doing back n forth and waiting for them to exchange the vehicle. Bad experience

The staff were wonderful and so attentive. The car was terrific and comfortable. My only point of issue was the price. I feel the.price of a one way rental is excessive. I have used this service for years and a tripling of price is grossly overstated and is NOT COVID related. I feel.companies are using the excuse basis as a money grab.

Make sure u check your gas meter when u check out and take pix or tell them when u leave parking, they will automatically charge u a full tank despite u didn’t receive a full tank at check out!

Only car company that never has anything ready to go for reservations. I had to wait two hours and then instead of a full size SUV take a horrible old minivan with no features that was scary to drive then they wouldn't even give a discount. They are weird A F and wanted to take selfies on pickup too. Would have had to wait what looked like another two hours at least if I wanted to hold for what I actually reserved two months ahead of time.

Customer said they tried to reach me and let me know they didn’t have the car I reserved. I had previously called enterprise prior to arrival and confirmed the reservation which they did. Arrived and I was upsold another vehicle that I didn’t take so I will not ever use this service again.

The pick-up and drop-off was a smooth as I could imagine. Especially when looking around at how the other providers were operating.I got swindled by the associate checking me in. When choosing refuel options, I was shown a price per gallon that I would pay for them to fill up the tank. They "forgot" to mention that I would be charged for a full tank of gas at that price, regardless of amount of fuel used. Definitely tainted the image I previously had of Enterprise.

Not only was this rental overpriced, it also had a check engine light on which I didn’t notice until after I left and the cruise control was idiotic (basically won’t let you set it where you want because of some eco setting) but the WORST part came after I dropped it off after paying $1200 for one week and was told by the lady behind the counter that I would be charged $450 for them to vacuum the dog hair from the car!! Never in my life have I heard of such a thing!!! She pointed to a policy that says “up to $450 will he charged” if there is smoking in the car... after that it says “there may be additional charges for excessive soilage...” first of all- neither of those things says you’ll charge me to VACUUM DOG HAIR. They have to vacuum it anyway. I guarantee you if they charge me for that, I will be disputing it in small claims court. That is beyond ridiculous and even if it’s a “small” amount of money to sue over, I will do it to prove a point on how WRONG that is. They could take it to a professional detailer and it STILL wouldn’t cost half that much. Insanity. I will NEVER shop Avis/Budget again (and I am a frequent car renter due to work travel). What a freakin scam!!

The young lady that inspected the car with me before I drove off was very polite, approachable, and had a good sense of humor.The vehicle smelled like weed and that was terrible! I smelled like it when I walked back into my office at work. I had to clean that car out to get the smell out of it myself. After I cleaned it, it smelled a little better but not very much.

Dekisha was fast, friendly, polite, and went above and beyond working extra. Our flight was delayed. We didn't get to the rental til 12:30am and she helped get us our reservation. People was still in line and more coming after us. Dekisha is very wonderful and much appreciated she deserves the world.There is not many people that are truly genuine and Dekisha made everything great!

The car was very clean. Staff at dropoff was very helpful and friendly.Only one staff member available at pickup, so wait was long. Drop off area wasn't clearly marked, signs should have directed the advantage rentals to use the upcoming ramp. The first turnoff looked like it was the only place to go. The car itself was a very cheap model for the money I spent.

Don't rent from them!They lied to me to get me to buy the 12.99 ezpass transponder. Then I told them THREE TIMES do not charge me for a one way drop off (which is when you drop off the car at a different pick up), and then they STILL charged me $260 for a one way drop off fee when I dropped off the car at the same location. I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND REFUND.

Unreasonable feesExtremely high toll usage fees, $13 a day plus additional taxes and fees, added to an extra $17 per day! I couldn’t find any gas stations in the vicinity of the airport and could not fill up tank (brought it in around 3/4 full) and was charged $57 to refuel. I have never paid this much for a car rental before - $643 for 9 days or $70 a day!

I made my reservations through Kayak. When I went to pick up my rental car, the location informed me that they were not a designed pick-up for reservations made through Kayak. They did not honor the reservation. The Hertz representative did not offer any other locations for me to try. I had to scramble and find another rental car from a different location and ended up paying an additional $100.

At least the van started every time and had good air conditioning. I am glad I did not get busted for the crack pipe I found in the passenger door! Drop off was terrible. I was told to leave the Van back in the parking lot and they would check it back in the next day... NO! they keep charging me every day until they get off their butts and register the car as returned.

I arrived at the rental pick up time and was told that they had no cars and wouldn't have any for several hours. I was quoted that it would likely be the next morning before I could pick one up since there were other customers in line in front of me, and I was advised to call customer support for a refund. It has been four days and still no refund or call back.

An absolute disaster, on 9-23-21 when I arrived in Houston from LAX, Dollar Rental Car had zero record of my reservation through Priceline/Kayak. My partners and I waited 2.5. hours in the Dollar Rental front desk area hoping Priceline or Dollar could figure something out but it did not happen. Dollar did not find my "Priceline trip numbers" or my "confirmation numbers" while Priceline customer service rep kept telling me it was in their system. Priceline however managed to charge my credit card $882.86 of the $1,174.82 total cost on September 3, 2021 when I made the reservation. I was left stranded with my business partners without a large SUV. After a extremely long frustrating wait all I got from Priceline was a promise that I would be refunded my initial $882.86 and any amount I paid over the total price of the rental I originally reserved of for $1,174.82. The only stipulation was that I rent a similar rental vehicle, for the same duration of time on a one way trip. On ZERO notice I had to settle for the only rental car company (SIXT) at IAH that would rent me that type of vehicle for that duration on a one way to Dallas. SIXT charged me $3,379.54, that was $2,204.72 over the price I reserved with Priceline for a similar vehicle. 11 days later I am still waiting for my $882.86 deposit that I received absolutely nothing for. I have tried to contact Priceline customer service to simply verify the email address where I can email the needed info to receive my $2,204.74 to avail. My only recourse seems to be contacting my attorney to collect my $3,087.58 plus additional damages. After 10 plus years of utilizing Priceline this has been an absolute disaster.

Nothing I was denied the opportunity to rent a car, was not informed about this. Plus a deposit was taken prior to rental for over$140 and I didn’t get to rent the car. Felt I was ripped off, would have preferred knowing I would be denied rental, before reserving and paying deposit. I will never use this service ever again because of this. I will reserve directly with the car rental, to avoid the problem I had here. Plus there were no other cars at other rental companies , to rent, had to Uber

Customer service is god awful. Not sure if you outsource customer service but it’s truly a 5 year old can run better. People answering phones that have no clue what’s going on. I extended a day with the car when I paid 150 for 3 days, told me the next day is 9 dollars and come to find out it was 120. This company is pathetic!

Staff was helpful in getting us a rental.Had a change of schedule and had to arrive in HOU 2 days early. Called to change reservation & was tolf, "No problem. Use same Confirmation #. As long as rental did not exceed original agreement it would be fine." Unable to use Confirmation #. Agent did get us a vehicle, but unable to cancel existing agreement! Also, helped us out by upgrading to a larger 3 row SUV for the two of us. We were hoping to "test drive" the compact jeep requested.

Quick process. Showed up they had my reservation they were ready to go took me less than 5 minutes to get my vehicle. Upon returning, staff saw I had oversized item and instead of making me transfer to a shuttle they drove me to the airport in my vehicle. Very much appreciated!No improvements needed. Everything went as planned!

Everything was great except for pickup. The person at the desk was extremely rude and was rushing even though I was the only person in line. Even though I bought third party insurance he told me it wasn't valid without giving me a good reason. I will be going back to enterprise.

Bought insurance online and when we get check in agent tells that the insurance is not recognized by thrifty. What rip off. Will never use them again. Took an hour and a half just to get to the counter and another 30 minutes to get the car. Not a well run company in Houston near the airport.

I rented and paid for a Nissan Pathfinder, and what I received was a DIRTY, SMELLY, and UNHYGIENIC Nissan Pathfinder. I complained and told them that I do not want this car because it was not clean and smelled. I asked for a similar car to a Pathfinder or something similar brand. I asked if I could take the Yukon that had just been washed/cleaned and the duty manager was extremely rude to me… he told me the only thing he can offer me is a Kia Sorrento or I can walk away, and if I want the Yukon then I’ll need to pay more. Very unprofessional and bad experience with Thrifty and Kayak. Not renting again.

In the rental car area, there were no lines at all except at the Thrifty desk. We had to wait about an hour, and the line was about 20 deep. Other rental places had a self-check in, or you could just go straight to your car. Once we did get to the desk, there were add-on charges after add-on charges that we didn’t know about when we booked. Once we did get to the area to pick up our car, the Thrifty guy had to wander around the lot for several minutes and eventually find other employees to ask which car we were supposed to take. Never again.

Pickup was Horrid.....over 1.5 hours in a line to finally get the vehicle. The actual vehicle porter was quite rude (she needed to understand that we had never picked up a vehicle from her and did not know the procedures). After she pointed us to a row of vehicles and said pick any of those, but once you open the door it's yours. Ok, but when there was a "Cleaned for Hertz" seal on the doorjam, I asked her again and she rudely says, "They All Say That" as she turned, then walked away...... Drop-Off was very fast, but again, seemed Chaotic.

Stood in line for almost two hours. They had two staff working and 85 people waiting to get a car. Guy at the counter basically told me I wasted my money on the insurance I purchased when I booked the car. Car was almost 550 dollars for 4 days and was a total piece of junk. Car had 30k miles, but felt like it had been around for 200k. If you're going to Houston use hertz or enterprise.

We requested a “mid-size SUV” & were given a tiny crossover (Buick Encore) that could barely fit one large suitcase in the trunk. The car did not seem very clean when we got in (crumbs on the seats/floor, a pen & mask behind the passenger seat) the gas tank was not full (39 miles until empty) & within the first day of driving the car, we started getting “low tire pressure” & “remote key battery needs to be replaced” maintenance notifications. We called Thrifty’s customer service & were put on hold for almost an hour, so we hung-up & called back. After explaining the maintenance messages we were receiving, we were told to take the car back to the rental office to exchange the car, so we drove over 45 minutes back to the airport, waited in line for a half hour only to be told there weren’t any other cars & the issues we had “weren’t a big deal”. We left & had to fill the tire with air every day for the two weeks we rented the car. Now I look at my credit card statement & it appears I’ve been charged twice; by the third-party company I rented the car through online & Thrifty Car Rental! Grrrrrrrrr! Did I mention I was told a supervisor would call me back “within a half hour” to discuss our concerns with our rental car & never did??! Needless to say, we are NOT happy with our Thrifty car rental experience!

The agent was rude, arrogant and discriminatory. He cancelled our pre-paid reservation citing that he felt uncomfortable renting to us after I asked questions and expressed privacy concerns. We walked away after 40 minutes. He called his manager and they both refused to provide the agent’s name. I obtained a rental from an excellent agent at the airport from an entirely different company at the airport. I was in and out in 15 minutes. If you’re thinking of renting from this company…don’t do it. They are unprofessional and do not hold true to the American values and laws regarding privacy. They take videos and pictures of you at the location while also retaining your private details. The arrogant and combative agent insisted on educating me regarding the German ownership of the rental company and demanded that we listen to a long diatribe about how they rent luxury vehicles. Thing is, we were renting a Toyota Corolla. They were just shy of requesting your fingerprints. This company fails to offer service, the agents aren’t required to wear name tags and management agreed with their gross lack of any semblance of customer care. You are better off using any other rental company besides them. The agent sneered and bragged about canceling other people’s pre-paid reservations as if he enjoyed some sort of twisted power in leaving people stranded at the airport (IAH). I left feeling a bit of compassion for the guy as it seems to be the only last bit of control that he can exert in his life. If you forego my warning then please be sure to not ask any questions or express any concern regarding the policies or you will be cut off! like that Seinfeld episode with the soup guy.

When I arrived in Houston, myself and a group of other people were told that there were absolutely no cars available. This information not only ruined my trip but I felt it was very unprofessional for National to relay this information through the shuttle bus driver rather than a manager. The next day when I called to see if a car was available, I was told that if there was one, my total was be 159. That was DOUBLE my original rental price for half the day. I am extremely dissatisfied with National and will NEVER book with them again.If I had gotten my damn car!

I’m very disappointed because I paid to kayak for rent a car and protection for one week around 320$ and when I arrive at the airport in Houston I couldn’t pay the taxes with debit card and I never get my money back nor the carI try to email and call kayak every day and I never get reply or my money back. Reservation was made with a company card that only listed company name and not my personal name. Multiple calls were made prior to my arrival to be sure I would be able to switch this over to my personal card. Upon arrival E-Z was unwilling to change the reservation to my personal card.

No spare tire in the trunk. I had a flat tire while on highway. The low pressure warning lights went off. Stopped the car. And found no spare tire. They had an electric pump in the trunk. That helped me off the road. I had to pump the tire every few hours. That’s life risking. Avoid the it.

Never againI was UNABLE to rent my previously reserved mini van for details I will not disclose on this review (please contact me if you would like further details). However, I will say it was due to the employee working that night. If it had not been for my cousin being with me, I would have been stranded without a rental and out the rental fee. All because of the cold hearted (I won’t say how I really feel about him) associate working that evening. I will never again rent from this company and I will never recommend them to anyone. Thanks for nothing.

The car type available on Kayak is not actually available to residents within 65 miles. In addition, if your credit card doesn't swipe once because of a smudge, they don't let you swipe it again and cancel your whole reservation.

I did not even get to use your service.. I was not even notified that I had to call to have someone pick me up me up. When I finally called they couldn't find my reservation even though I had a reservation. I was stuck at the airport. This is a lousy service. You should send a detailed message to your clients telling them exactly what they need to do.. I will never use your service again .

Staff was very nice and helpful. Pick up and drop off was very simple and convenient.Their cars can be inspected better before renting them out to customers. The first rental that was provided brakes and tires were very worn. They did switch us out into a newer vehicle they following day.
