Pros: Loved the style, large spaces, high ceilings and lots of vibrant color. The location is great, not too far on the number 9 tram into the Centre of Amsterdam but far enough out to lose the crowds and noise and to be able to eat with the locals at some very nice cafes and restaurants. The building is magnificent and our particular room was amazing (116) as it had the high ceilings and huge doors out onto to the large balcony above the main entrance to the hotel. the bed was comfy and the room had ample space.
Cons: The room was a bit hot and we struggled to understand how to work the air conditioning switches. Granted we could have (and should have) asked for help, but we chose instead to open the big doors and let in the fresh air! Whilst we like to see less waste, we would have appreciated some hair conditioner added to the bathroom and some fresh milk would have been nice.

Pros: No parking! You can pay 30 euros for leaving the car at the front door area but only place for about 10 cars! The room was ok but a little bit dirty! The breakfast buffet to expensive for what it offer! I purchased a king size bed but they give me single beds because they had no more rooms availabel! Very disapointing.
Cons: I will not recomend this hotel even to my enemies!

Cons: Unfortunately the hotel is next door to a city music facility and there were extremely loud pounding rave concerts from 9 pm until 6 am the next day. Despite being 15 floors above, the super loud base beat still penetrated the room until 6 am. Nothing the hotel could do but would advise avoiding Friday and Saturday nights if possible. Very close to a tram station for transportation to Centraal Station. Buy the 24 or 36 hour tram pass and once you learn the routes hop on and off at your pleasure.

Pros: This hotel is very close to everything. Conveniently located near Centraal station- the tourist and transport hub. Segway, bike shop and bike parking at hotel is a plus. Hotel itself is very modern- spacious, and boutique-like with friendly multi-lingual staff. Fitness and spa center are superb compared to 4 or 5 star hotels we've stayed in this summer elsewhere in Europe. Excellent restaurant menu. Main asset: the staff.
Cons: Internet service was intermittent during the week (hotel gave us credit back though). Cruise ship blares horn in the morning. Restaurant service could use some help.

Pros: I love the fact that the staffs are super friendly. Very nice hotel and nice high ceilings. We got a free upgrade too. I love it so much I def want to come back! I love everything about it. Nothing to complain about. the bathroom is so nice and beds too.
Cons: Only downside is that they are currently doing constructions and wish we would have been informed. It gets very loud during the day but aside from that it's all good!

Pros: The Arena is a great hotel, we spent most of our time in our room, though the lobby and grounds are impressive. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom very nice, the sitting area perfect. We had floor to ceiling windows which overlooked a courtyard and that really made the room. A few nice amenities included an electric tea kettle to make coffee and tea with, a safe, a fridge and blowdryer. When we needed a converter, the front desk had one for us. The front desk also called cabs for us which came quicklly. Nice quiet neighborhood with easy access.
Cons: I didn't realize the room was two floors with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, not ideal for middle of the night trips to the restroom. There was no handrail on the steep and winding staircase. While housekeeping came everyday, they did not sweep the wood floors which I would have expected. One wall of the bathroom is the wall of the sitting area and is all black glass, which at first seems opaque, but really isn't. When it was just me and my husband in the room, no problem, but when we had visitors, it was a bit awkward.

Pros: This was my first trip there, and I loved the Generator almost the most. It had a great atmosphere, and everyone I encountered there was very nice. The cafe is fantastic, and a great place to hang out if you have work to do.
Cons: The rooms WERE a bit small, but for the average traveler/backpacker they are totally sufficient. I happened to have quite a bit of luggage with me (it's what happens when I'm traveling for business), and I felt like a total inconvenience to my roommates (even though they swore I was fine). My ONLY complaint with the experience at Generator is that the shower drain was quite clogged, and the shower stall would be filled with water by the second minute.

Pros: When I booked this hotel I told my husband I wasn't sure he was going to like it. Boy was I wrong! It was perfect! We were on our honeymoon and upon check in we were upgraded to a nicer room and given multiple free drink tickets. The staff is extremely friendly and really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and taken care of. The steam room and sauna were wonderful. After exploring the city all day we would get in a quick workout in the gym, sit in the sauna and relax before heading to bed. The bar was pretty busy all 3 nights we were there but they were also hosting a Nespresso Conference so i assume most of the people were from that. It's a quick 10 min to Central if you get on the M51. About 1/2 mile walk to metro from the hotel. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here upon our return to the Netherlands!
Cons: I was allergic to the soaps they provide and ended up with a rash. :( Bummer. Also the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was not good. Over priced with terrible eggs and soggy bacon.

Pros: The staff spoke English very well and were very friendly. The location was right along a little convenient strip that had a grocery store and restaurant. It was about a 30 min walk into the heart of Amsterdam which was far enough to stay peaceful and close enough to do everything we wanted. The room was very large and had an interesting design to it. I'd stay here again.
Cons: With the room being as large as it was, felt a little empty. The furniture was interesting to look at but felt a little cheap. The matress was uncomfortable for both me and my friend.
