Filled with historic buildings, Dublin is a gem of a city to explore by car. Dublin is based on the River Liffey, and boasts the Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral and the National Museum of Ireland. Enjoy a pint of Guinness in an authentic setting and find out about Irish heritage at the award-winning EPIC: The Irish Emigration Museum. If day trips are on the cards, consider driving out to the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, 214m high above the Atlantic Ocean. Dublin also offers a great music scene with friendly folk and plenty of pubs to stay warm in.
  • When you book Budget car hire in Dublin, you will have three primary branches in the city from which to get the ideal vehicle. The Dublin Airport offers extended hours, trading from 5:00 am until midnight. In the city centre you have the Lower Drumcondra Road branch, which trades between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. There is also the Old Kilmainham Road branch, which closes earlier at 2:30 pm. When you need to return your vehicle, you can make use of any of the Budget branches and after-hours returns are available too. Simply park the vehicle in the Budget bays and leave the keys in the night drop box. Budget will contact you should there be any post-hire issues.
  • Road-tripping in Ireland is a wonderful holiday experience. Do it safely by adding Roadside Assistance Plus when you book your Budget car hire in Dublin and be covered for those annoying non-mechanical issues that may pop up. While making your online booking with KAYAK, get some additions to your trip that may come in handy such as car seats for infants in various sizes and a handy GPS navigation tool.
  • Road tripping takes its toll when you are the only driver behind the wheel. Share the load with a partner and relax at times, or simply have the back-up in case you fall ill during your trip. Including an additional driver on your car rental agreement is simple. Book them online, insure them and make sure they are with you at the collection point to show their valid driver’s license. Did not give me the car. Wanted 45,000€ deposit!! Joke of a service. Issues between the booking service and Budget in terms of insurance coverage agreements. Not good enough from both parties.Reviewed 29 June 2026

The Dublin Airport Budget staff would not accept the insurance that we purchased on Kayak, so we had to abandon our rental from Budget after two attempts. I also emailed them with a letter of coverage from our credit card company, asking if they would accept that, and they never replied.Reviewed 23 June 2026

The person at pickup was not helpful as she insisted on having a letter from my credit card detailing that it would provide car insurance in Ireland. There was a hold of over $8600 CDN placed on my credit card to cover potential damages and gas (if not on Full when car returned). It was unclear if the hold for damages would have been applied if I’d had the letter. The vehicle was not that clean, inside or out, and clearly had been driven through narrow roadways in Ireland, based on the amount of scrapes and scratches on its body. Otherwise the rental was fine and we appreciated having an automatic hybrid, especially given the steep cost of gas. The rental price was also terrific compared to other car rentals I’ve had recently.Reviewed 17 June 2026

They would not rent me the car ss they wanted a doctors letter becauase of my age. This was something buried in the fine print. I dont know if my doctor would have written what they wanted. Enterprise only has one age restriction and that is you must be over 30. They saved our baconReviewed 12 June 2026

I had a fantastic experience with Enterprise. The customer service was top-notch, and the pickup process was incredibly quick. To top it off, they gave me a free upgrade with zero hassle. The entire process was well-managed and professional. I’ll definitely be renting from this location again!Reviewed 9 June 2026

Had to wait a long time for the shuttle bus. Had to wait a long time in the line up to rent the car. Took an hour and a half to finally get the car.Reviewed 3 June 2026

Difficult to find kiosk. Unfriendly customer service. Aggressive fear mongering. Had to produce backup documents to support my rental. Thank God, I was prepared. Also rented from other companies this trip and had nowhere near the same bad experience.Reviewed 31 May 2026

Airport shuttle, pick-up and drop-off were seamless. The vehicle was somewhat dinged up on the front passenger side, which is understandable. The only problem we had wa the vehicle experience an electrical malfunction and after the second day we were unable to use the back two doors and rear seat area. We probably should have called and swapped vehicles but chose not to do so. Otherwise the Toyota Corolla hybrid was an all around good vehicle.Reviewed 21 May 2026

Very very slow to get a van, very very slow to pick up a car, car had 145k KMs on it and left brake light didn't work. Overall service and quality was poor.Reviewed 5 May 2026

I feel ripped off. The daily price of the rental didn’t reflect the actual price, especially when you factor in insurance. I don’t recall insurance being an option to purchase in advance and had I known how much it would cost, I would’ve budgeted for the trip differently. After this experience, I will advise people against Kayak and Budget when renting vehicles.Reviewed 19 Feb 2026

I was not made aware that insurance was mandatory to rent the vehicle and that my only other option would be to put the entire cost of a vehicle on my credit card. This seems like a bait & switch model. It’s shameful to wait until someone is in a foreign country to force an insurance plan on them. I understand placing an ordinary hold of a few thousand dollars for uninsured vehicles incase they cause any external damage, but to tell me it’s either “buy the insurance or we put a 35000 euro hold on your credit card” is ridiculous. Most people don’t even have that kind of credit line available so it was basically extortion. I will NEVER rent through budget again.Reviewed 21 May 2025
