I am normally a very patient person as it pertains to the service industry as I have been in the service industry for a number of years. But this particular location was sub par across many spectrums. They only had 2 desk staff to handle the rentals on a Sunday. There was construction (painting) going on at the same time as people leaving and coming which caused confusion with no signage or instructions. Just yellow tape everywhere. Average wait time for each party to get a rental car was about 25 minutes, where other rental car companies can get this done in 5-10 minutes and some in less than 2 minutes via a kiosk so I don’t understand how Budget hasn’t looked at a better onboarding of customers. The major point of all this is that their Point of sale system and procedures only allows inserting the chip of a credit card. I explained to the desk salesman that the insert functionality doesn’t work you will need to tap or swipe. He said well then you are out of luck. No solution, no other option. We have a credit card but no reservation. I booked through Kayak so if we paid via kayak then what would be the difference of being able to insert chip or not. This was the cherry on top. I get procedures must be followed but when your point of sale system does have the swipe, how in the world can budget say no to that capability. We went to enterprise 5 minute walk and were in and out with a rental car in less than 10 minutes. Budget needs to reflect on their POS systems and train their employees to be solution oriented.Reviewed 30 Apr 2026

It was a negative experience. The company charged more money even with a prepaid reservation. They are understaffed. No one was available during drop off to provide assistance. Would not recommend them for car rentals.Reviewed 8 Apr 2026

I picked up my budget rental car on a Sunday night at 9:30 in March 2026. I easily got onto the shuttle and went to the West Palm budget rental by the airport . As soon as I got there, I definitely saw a long line of customers waiting to meet with an associate to get their cars. There was no pre-check-in available that I knew of. That night there were only two attendants and I waited in that line for two full hours until 11:30 PM. The people that were elderly in line, we were getting chairs for so they could sit down because how many people can stand for two hours.?! it was a horrible experience. The two attendants were kind and said things had been like this for weeks. It had been busy. Someone questioned them and said stop renting cars then if you don’t have the staff to get us out of here.! It should be noted that I went with kayak because it’s a big name and I’ve heard good things. However, when I went to check out, it said I was with a subdivision company called Queeq?! I wasn’t real happy about that because I wanted kayak in the big name. The price was a little bit cheaper than other companies. However, nothing was worth standing in line over two hours for I would’ve paid extra. I would’ve gotten out of line and gone with another company however I felt that since I still had a reservation and confirmation that I would’ve been charged if I didn’t pick it up.Reviewed 30 Mar 2026
