Pros:I liked the car, I liked the lady who did the paperwork, I liked the simplicity of renting the car and returning it, I liked the price, and I liked the location.Cons:There is only one item that I disliked. I just flew into town, I was tired and hungry, and it was getting late for me. I got into a line and waited over an hour until it was my turn to check out the car. I am not upset at the lady as she handled many unhappy customers with a friendly greeting. However, I am unhappy that there was just one person at the desk on the night before the big eclipse. Most of the other car rental companies moved their customers through in no time. Next time there is a big event coming to town, get some more help!Reviewed 24 Aug. 2017

Turned away car reservationCons:New business rules at Dollar, that started after I booked my reservation well in advance, made it so I could not get the car. They now require any renter to have proof of a return flight home or use a credit card. I live local to that office & was renting to go on a business trip out of town, so no return ticket. I don't like to use credit cards so I don't have one. Representative told me to try another company. This was very frustrating as it was the day before my trip & was super busy for renting cars for the weekend. I don't think it was good practice to not send notice to those who had pending reservations of these new rules so I could have been prepared or changed my reservation before it was last minute. Had to pay more at another company who actually gave excellent customer service to work with my situation.Reviewed 11 Apr. 2017

Pros:Danielle was very kind and helpful! Dollar was a great company to deal with, next time I will go straight through them and avoid booking through was charged an insurance fee through Kayak at time of booking. Yet, once I got to the office on the day of my trip the lady said I hadn’t purchased any insurance and that insurance was an additional fee of $300. I didn’t like that Kayak was not clear about charges, as a third party they only show the base pay for the vehicle, and offer rental car insurance but it’s not through the actual rental car company. It felt a little scammy to me but it was too late for me to find another option. Many people are maybe aware of this issue but for me I didn’t enjoy being blindsided by a significant change in charges.Reviewed 8 May 2018

Pros:The rental didn’t even happen because even though we called their corporate customer service and had the pickup time changed the number they had for the local office at the Boise airport was disconnected and turns out their office closes at 5 pm and they don’t offer any sort of after hours pick up.Cons:Everything. Wasn't what we bookedPros:We has reserved a mid size vehicle and when I got there, all they had was the manager special, a compact, unless I wanted to pay an extra $120.00. What a joke. And then the attendant just sent me off by myself, horrible Directions try andgofindthecar. When I couldn't find the car after wandering the airport I went back to the counter. When I asked to see a manager, I was informed that he was the manager. That's when it all clicked, apparently he must have been on a power trip to trear customers like that. They up-charge you and argue with you about itPros:The car was new, in great condition and very clean.Cons:The service was terrible. They charged me for three days after returning the car 28 hours after renting it. They then argued with me about it. I tried calling the direct local line several times but the phone number is disconnected, which they also argued with me about. Saving $20 is not worth putting up with them.Reviewed 19 Sep. 2018

Now I want to upgrade my NissanPros:Such a great car! So comfortable and stylish, loved the leather seats. Also, it had some serious get up and go. Nothing not to love.Cons:The full coverage insurance was very expensive! There should be a new policy: If car is returned with no damage half of the cost of full coverage will be reimbursed to driver while rental company keeps the other half. Cons:This office is understaffed and not supported well by their national counterparts. I was up in Idaho on vacation andI ended up in the hospital. It was not an injury/illness that came about from vacationing. I could not return the car. They told me they do not have any staff that could come pick it up even tho I was willing to pay, I could not add on another driver to drop it off, and they offered no solution other than if I died, they could then do what they normally do in those circumstances. I had to drive it back to them to return their car, rather than fly back from where I fell ill so as to get back to the doctors and hospital who could help me. Never use this office, it should be shut down, and I will never use dollar/thrifty/ or hertz (their corporate owner) again!Reviewed 24 Oct. 2015
