The car was the worst car I’ve ever driven driven. It had more dings and damage to it. There was lots of noises coming from the engine. It was all scratched. We called to say there was a noise coming from the engine. The lady said she would come and pick it up. We almost lost our reservation at a restaurant. She never showed up or got a phone call. Customer service was terrible. I won’t be going through dollar again not in Aruba.Reviewed 19 Mar 2025

When we got to dollar rental in Aruba, they informed me that they didn’t have any SUVs available (which is what I reserved) and offered a minivan which I don’t feel comfortable driving. When I asked for a regular sedan instead they told me they don’t have anything available. It was either the minivan or go with a local rental place they work with. We went with the local rental Place they recommended and received the worst beat up tiny SUV. I will never book with dollar again.Reviewed 28 Dec 2024

I reserved a car 6 months in advance .when I arrived there was NO CAR !!! They pawned me off on another car company . No reason. Just rented everything out already . What's the point of a reservation? Never again !!Reviewed 4 Aug 2024

We like the price from kayak the pick up was all messed up, they didn’t have. Our rental due to someone bringing back a car late So they sent us to Toyota rental. They only had a smaller car ,then all was taken care of 4 hours later but we lost 4 hours of our day lost. Because dollar didn’t have carReviewed 29 June 2024

We had to wait awhile for our paperwork to be completed and the car was disgusting. The front tire was going flat, the car was so dirty and when we turned the air conditioner on high, two dead cockroaches came out of the vents. The car type that we thought we were getting was not at all what we got. The car was the size of a shoebox. We will never rent from them again on the island of Aruba.Reviewed 6 Apr 2024

Cons:When we got there, we were told they had no cars left. Not even in a different size. They told us they would bring us to Thrifty, who would match the price. Get to Thrifty and they want to give us a smaller car for $20 more (I'm a big guy, and can't fit into those little lunchboxes they call cars). They refused to come down to the promised price, and then told us it would be an $800 security deposit for damages. They wanted to charge my card $1000. Someone else was having the same problem and they couldn't get a car because they didn't have enough credit available for that. They also only take Visa or Mastercard, no AMEX. Went to look at the car and it was small and old, so we ended up never getting a car. Would NEVER try to rent a car at Dollar or Thrifty again.Reviewed 31 May 2021
