Pros:

I was on a do not rent list that was a mistake that had nothing to do with me. I had to rent an Avis car for $300 more.

Cons:

I booked this reservation 40 days ago. Nobody notified me there was a problem until I arrived at the counter

Pros:

Pick up and drop off were very easy and efficient. The car was very clean and easy to drive.

Cons:

The only thing that could have been better was having a key fob instead of just keys but that was a minor inconvenience. Overall it was great.

Cons:

My only complaint is I rented for three months and had to go back every 30 days to renew the contract and that was a big hassle. But everybody is friendly and worked with me every time.

The car we reserved was not available because we were an hour late due to a delayed flight. Charged extra for a different vehicle. Felt like a bait and switch.

Booked an EV for my 7 day rental, showed up to begin rental and was told they don't have any ev's for me. I pointed out there were over 10 ev's in the lot of only 25 cars total but was told none were available. They offered a 2 door mustang ICE for my family of 4. I informed that would not work, and was told I could pay another $40 day to "upgrade" to a mid size SUV. Sensing bait and switch I took the mustang which was dirty and had obvious mechanical issues if it had been inspected between rentals. This was not anything like a normal Hertz rental, more like a sketchy discount rental company. Staff were kind people and clearly working hard so have to give them credit for their struggle. Rental was a dishonest system that didn't provide my family with the needs we had booked. Won't rent again from here.

Picked up car - it was filthy on outside. Had to stop at car wash before starting our trip. Staff was slow and poorly empowered to make decisions. Poorly supportive. When we dropped car off - no one around, no space for safe drop off.

The rental was supposed to be at Phoenix Sky Harbor but instead was 8 miles away and they have no shuttle service. Cost over $60 w/ Uber on getting us to the rental and back to the airport. Major inconvenience!

It was clear in my search that I wanted to pick up at the Phoenix airport. Evidently it was very unclear that kayak booked a car through Hertz at a location 20 minutes away from the airport. This caused all kinds of problems for the trip.

The offer wasn’t clear that the agency is not at the airport. It took forever to get to their off site location. Once I made it there, the line to checkin was at least 30 people deep. They only had 3 employees working. After waiting 30 min, and the line only moved by 2 people, I took an Uber back to the airport. I lost the money that I prepaid to NU Car. Waste of money and time.

Horrible customer service at the desk. I felt lied to and they upsold me. Business was closed when I arrived on a late flight. They told me my class of car was not available. They knew I wouldn’t be in until after they closed and was told I shouldn’t have a problem and when I went in the next day they claim they didn’t have the class of car I asked for and I would have to pay more money: it got so frustrating I gave in. Stuck in a city with no money, kids and luggage, I was taken advantage of.

Pros:

The people at the drop off were wonderful. Pick up, not so much and I don’t understand why the gas was not full, especially knowing that the car was out having the oil checked. It was very inconvenient for me as I was driving up to Sedona & Flagstaff. Also, the surprise was a pick up TRUCK??? I rent cars NOT TRUCKS!!! What was that??? I had to wait for a car!

Cons:

Full tank. Car was not comfortable for hwy driving. When someone rents a car, give them a car.

Pros:

The Avis was easy to find. The people were friendly and helpful. I received the car of my choice and was greatly pleased with the service!

Cons:

If I had come back with less than a full tank Id have had to pay nearly ten dollars a gallon. I understand the need to do this but I think it would have been helpful to have a suggested gas station given at the time of pick up as I did not have a clue where to go and found one nearest as I could on the way. It was a bit stressful considering the city we were in has a strange way of making left hand turn lanes.

Pick up was very friendly and efficient. Drop off was confusing. No directions by signage or communicative personnel. We were steered wrong at drop off requiring extra steps and unnecessary waits in line. Car was not cleaned properly, even to the point of empty soda bottles in back seat. Windshield wipers were completely absent. So glad it did not rain more than one out of seven days! We would have told a staff member IF a human was available to report to.

Reservation was not in system. Quoted 4X of reservation made online. They said system was behind since I made reservation within hour of pick up but this would be corrected when I drop car off and I would be charge correct / reservation amount. At drop off the invoice was 2.5X of reservation $

The hours they close is quite early but in since they have a drop box I guess they compensate for that.
