The car was malfunctioning and we brought it to Alamo rental at the airport but they didn’t help at all. We were forced to park the car and leave it at our families. The only person that helped was the guy who took the car back and they called to get us a discount on the rental which we haven’t received.

Location was short on vehicles. Employees were working hard to keep wait to a minimum, even giving free upgrades if category reserved wasn't available. Shuttle bus driver was exceptional also - loading all bags so customers could get to the counter quickly and safely. SUV was in great shape with fewer miles than I've seen in rental cars since the pandemic. Excellent overall experience!
Smooth check in/check out, friendly helpful staff, and a clean well-functioning car. The thing I like most about Sixt in Denver specifically is you can select a "guaranteed" 4WD, which is essential when a storm is expected.

First I was assured there was no real damage and sixt does not nickel and dime customers when I returned my vehicle. I have the agent on video saying this. Them today I get a damage report, and while it's annoying enough having to fill it out, I can't even upload the video because of size limits. When I called to complain about this, after being on hold twice for over 10 minutes, I was told only the damage department can do anything, and they don't open until 10 Eastern time. Why in the world would I want to rent with sixt again if this is how they treat customers, particularly ones who did nothing wrong and didn't damage the vehicle?? Terrible service.

The staff in both Denver for the pickup and Colorado Springs for the dropoff were excellent. The car was clean, roomy, and in great shape. I will use Enterprise again, no question.
The only car they had was not a midsize SUV-a Jeep Compass-so it was crampe. If I had known that I would have booked with someone else

Arrived at the Denver Airport Avis facility at approximately 12:45 am on Saturday October 18, 2025. The line of 50 customers was wrapped around the waiting area (think Disney ride line). Avis had 1 (one) agent on duty. A second Avis representative came out and addressed the crowd of customers by stating “We don’t have any cars but we can rent each of you a 15 passenger van. You can come back tomorrow and try to exchange it if we have any cars by then.” The customers became irate. Many left but many, including me, stayed because there were no other viable options at that time of the day. 2 hrs later I was issued a vehicle. I received an email from someone claiming to be an Avis representative at that facility the night before my rental period was scheduled to end. They asked for photos of the key fob and vehicle information since they didn’t know what vehicle I had been issued. I called the Avis national call center because I suspected that the email was a phishing attempt. The representative recommended that I not respond to the email and that the branch could contact me by phone if they had questions. I returned the vehicle at approximately 4:00 am on Monday October 20, 2025. The parking lot Avis representative scanned the vehicle in and told me that I would receive my receipt by email. I phoned the Avis national call center multiple times after I returned the vehicle and finally received the receipt 6 days after I had returned my vehicle. Interestingly enough, I also received a second email from the branch 6 days after I returned my vehicle asking for the same information about my vehicle. This was the single worst rental experience in more than 40 yrs of renting cars.

The pickup line took 45 minutes, which really needs to be addressed. The staff were very nice and helpful, and drop-off took only seconds, so it’s clear the issue is with the pickup process itself. I had already filled out all my information in advance to expedite things, but still ended up waiting in line for 45 minutes. It seems this is a common problem, yet the technology exists to make this process much faster and more efficient.

Waited over 30 minutes for transportation from the airport to the rental office before we decided to take an Uber! Long lines, long wait times, unhelpful agent, poor communication, dirty car (even after a quick rinse they call a car wash), no up-to-date charging port in the vehicle…. Probably one of the worst experiences in recent times.

They rented cars they didn't have. Forced dozens of renters (including me) to wait for 2-3 hours to get checked in and get their cars because they were waiting for returned cars to get cleaned and ready to go. Gave totally lame excuses for the delay. Even FastBreak customers were having to wait in line for cars. It is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for a car rental company to be completely blind to how many cars they will have at any given time and rent more cars than they have available. I AM NEVER RENTING FROM BUDGET AGAIN!
The best part was the rental agent - M. was super helpful and he helped secure a car for me last minute with the best deal. Don’t expect the nicest cars - they are fairly used but the price is generally worth the value.

Was not given a full size vehicle despite booking full size. Vehicle had a warning light on after picking up and I was told my only option was to spend 6 hours driving back through Denver traffic to return for a new rental car. New rental car was even smaller than the original car I was provided with. I was also charged a fee for fuel at $8.99 per gallon even though I returned the car full!

Thos company is a bait and switch company. Very displeased. I rented a mid sized suv and paid in full when reserved. When I showed up they said I only paid for a compact suv. No, it was very clear what I rented. I had to pay more than double again to get what I wanted when I picked it up. I paid over 300 dollars when I reserved my car, when I picked it up it was almost another 500 dollars extra. I will never rent from this company again. I will never recommend this company. I will talk bad about this company to anyone looking torrent from fox rentals. Do not use them for anything. You've Been warned.
Entry agent was agreeable but not overly friendly. We received a different vehicle than I thought we were getting. I had reserved a Ford Econostar 12 person van but ended up with a Kia van with a third row. It did meet our needs and was a very nice car, but you had to climb in through the hatch to get to the third row. Thankfully we only took a few local trips after we reached our destination.

It was really good except we specifically booked a Hyundia Santa Fe and when we arrived to pick up the car they only had a Chevy available to us. Kind of felt like a bait and switch.
They only had one person working the check-in desk, so we stood in line for 2 hours, with only 8 reservations in front us.

After waiting for over an hour past my reservation time I was told that no cars matching my reservation would be available for another and if I wanted to something now I’d have to pay another 25 as day for a pickup. I was late for a meeting and paid it like a real sucker. Don’t think I will do business with Payless again.

I got picked up by the Payless shuttle and then dropped off at the Avis counter. The Avis company had a hard time finding my reservation even tho I told them it was for Payless. They finally found the reservation after looking in the Payless system. I had reserved a 2 door like vehicle but they gave me a 4 door Volvo instead. The car turned on and went on my way, but then realized main control screen that did the radio and air conditioner did not work. I pulled over on the highway and watched a video on how to reset the Volvo display system and then it worked. I just won’t use Payless or Avis again.

The wait for a vehicle was long. once they processed me, they said my car would be ready in 10 minutes despite the fact that due to delays I was there after my anticipated pick up time so my car should’ve been ready. It took 20. The first car I got smelled very perfumy and then as I left all the warning lights lit up so I had to bring it back. They said they’d have another car for me in 10min. It took 30. They said it would be cheaper NOT to fill the car with gas before return because their gas was cheaper. That was not true. There were a number of hidden fees including a “rate charge” and “tire and glass damage waiver” that I did not approve and that were not explained to me. Would never recommend this place and would never rent here again.

When I booked this car rental through Kayak, the listing gave me a set price that included unlimited miles, multiple drivers, and my insurance. After waiting nearly two hours in line at the Thrifty counter in Denver, I was told that the listing was incorrect and that I owed twice as much as I'd already paid -- and that if I wanted multiple drivers, it'd cost me much more. I really don't like being lied to, and both Kayak and Thrifty lied to me and gave me terrible service. I'll never use either company again.

The people at the service counter were friendly and tried to be helpful, however, they could not give me the car I had reserved or the equivalent. After an hour at the counter I had to insist that I get the car I had reserved (or equivalent) at the price I had reserved it. In the end, I had to pay more and did not get a 4 wheel drive. I had to add over 100 miles to my travel to avoid a snowy route.

Rental car level was wrong when we picked up, then they lied about the coverage and he added more than asked for. We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. It was a joke from start to finish.
Pick up experience may have been the worst. Drop off was great, smooth and efficient.

Pros: - cheapest option available, and a car is a car Cons: - car itself smelled odd (I suspect cigarette smoke masked by air freshener) and had visible grime in multiple areas of center console: staff advised that the smell was actually the soap they used to clean the car (!). - repeatedly tried to upsell us to a larger car and to charge us extra for a toll pass despite my explaining we didn’t need a larger car or a toll pass - advised we should pay more for a larger car as we were going to “the mountains”, again despite me explaining our trip would be entirely on interstate highways - tried to pre-sell us a tank of gas by stating they were “definitely” cheaper than anywhere in the vicinity. Transpires the gas station literally across the street was 10c/gallon cheaper. Summary: - cheapest option but expect a mediocre / dirty car and aggressive dishonest sales tactics

I waited in line for about 30 minutes and then had to wait about another 20 minutes for someone to bring my car to me. Other rental car companies figure out long ago how to have your keys ready for you and tell you which spot to walk to. A long line for check-in and filling out forms is beyond their control if many flights arrive at the same time, etc. But the process of getting your keys and walking to your car should be so much easier. My car was fine - the outside was noticeably damaged with scrapes and dents. If I hadn't already waited nearly an hour for it, I might have asked for a different car, but I didn't want to chance one more hour. On the postive side, the price was far better than most other companies hear DIA.

The cost of the car was probably double expected, if not more. They upsell and overcharge.
I would have rated 5 stars as everything was exceptionally good until i wanted to extend rental for five days. They gave me two options- Pay 300 "extension fee" on top of original daily rate or come back to airport close out first contract open new one. It was a huge waste of time just to try and extract huge fee.

Well, first let’s not kid ourselves this is Fox Rent a Car. They are not located with the main rental car companies at the complex. Instead they are about a 1/4 mile away in another area. The moment you get there, it’s about the upsell. At checkout, mind you this was pre-paid, he tacked on gas and tolls. I never said I wanted either. So, then there was that. Everything was filthy, the shuttle bus drivers were taken from nascar and it just reeked of used car lot vibes.

I didn’t pick up the rental. I called customer service for a refund because we got picked by the wrong ride, we had to stand in line for a long time and they asked for $500 security deposit. I canceled the rental and the customer service staff told me to call the company I booked my reservation with. York rental is a big joke!
