Pros: Fast, easy, friendly.
Cons: I rented it for a month and then extended for another 2 weeks and would have rented it longer if I could have gotten a better rate.

Pros: Staff processed everything very fast. I was in and out very quickly. They gave me a beautiful rental. No complaints.

Pros: Target rent a car was very helpful when we realized the insurance didnt get put on when we booked online. They were able to accommodate us even though we were on another side of the island. We couldn't find their office so they sent someone to us.
First car rental in Puerto Rico
Pros: Economy (Target) was professional - I was a little apprehensive renting from a company in Puerto Rico but the staff of Target worked hard to meet my needs. Car was nice, clean and my experience was Great!

Called Avis for assistance, just wanted to extend a drop-off hour due late pickup due to travel delay, alternative go to drop-off and see what they can do. OMG! Returned the the car under a stressful moment.

Cons: Arrived at rental car desk at 5:30 a.m. nowhere to sit and had to wait two hours standing in line with other people before my car was ready. Totally unacceptable.

Pros: We got there at 11am, about 1.5 hours early so we wouldn't have to add an extra day to our rental, and then I realized I completely forgot to gas up. The guy was very nice, told me where the closest gas station was, and told me he wouldn't charge me for an extra day.

Cons: Had problems getting in touch with loss and found. They never answer the phone. Took me awhile to get a service (on the same day and 2 more days after rental) of rental. Call Avis Rental because I left an item in the trunk of the rental car (dropped-off in San Juan). Gave all the information related to the lose and call rental information. I addressed that I was returning back to San Juan and had a rental car with them, based on the conversation I felt that they had the information and that once I returned the item was going to be available. To my surprise the item was not available. The service rep said that he was going to inform the Supervisor, still waiting for a response from AVIS San Juan.

Pros: The customer service was quick and efficient. They fixed our issue and put our group into two cars. The cars ran well but the shock absorption was poor on the cars. This was important to us because there are so many potholes in PR. Other than that, the cars did the job for our trip.
Cons: We had a group of 6 people and made a reservation for a mini van before travelling to Puerto Rico. The website did not do a great job informing us about the law in PR that says renters under 25 cannot drive a 7-person car.

Pros: The car was comfortable
Cons: At the airport the wait was over an hour to see an agent. The daily rental rate was over $100 for an economy car. The inside of the front windshield was so dirty that vision during night driving was impaired. We experienced another long wait to pick up the rental at the airport. The overall experience was negative.

Great car, atrocious, useless, rude, scaremongering staff
Pros: Supplied with an awesome Jeep Renegade, in good condition. Fuel was super cheap, rental was very reasonable too, without all the (luckily optional) add ons that cost more than renting the car! Pretty clean too, and we got to collect our car 30 mins early.
Cons: Horrible woman at check in /pick up. She started off nice but then when she realised we weren't going to pay $500 for 4 different types of insurance to cover the car, she went completely psycho on us, screaming, "my car is worth $25,000, who's going to cover the cost if it gets stolen?!" freaking us out and trying to scare us into spending x4 of what we paid to rent the car. She then tried to sell us fuel and additional driver charges, again as expensive as renting the car. No thanks lady! We took our chances and surprise surprise, we were fine! She made life so difficult and was unhelpful, mean and succeeded in worrying us about the crime levels in PR. When checking the car, we had to tell another employee to mark the obvious damaged underbelly of the Jeep which was hanging down almost touching the road. Finally, when refueling before returning the car, the fuel cap didn't open. We tried for 10 mins, watching you tube videos, checking the car manual and still couldn't get it open. Tried calling Hertz San Juan Airport and surprise surprise no one answered on 3 different extension lines, what if there was an emergency?! Useless. It was a Monday afternoon, 3pm. No excuse. We eventually pried the cap open with a credit card. Terrible.

Cons: When I arrived at the airport, Hertz had no cars. I was told that I could get on a waiting list but that they wouldn't know when the cars would be returned. I rushed to another provider and found that they had an ongoing deal for situations like this so I was able to obtain a record from Hertz and rent from Thrifty at the same price. Needless to say, it was unexpected considering I had reserved a car and already paid for my reservation. And of course after traveling all day it was quite stressful, but I acted fast and was able to secure a car.

Pros: They sent the van for us automatically at new time when our flight was delayed 2 hours.
Cons: It is offsite from the airport unlike all the other rental car companies. When we got to the office offsite they told us they gave our car away because our flight was delayed. They knew we were delayed though as they sent the van to pick us up at new arrival time. They then told us they did have a car but we had to pay 50% more than what we booked for in advance. We declined and went back to airport and rented from a reputable company.

Cons: The van for the shuttle to the airport is not clearly marked and there is no one to direct the way. So it took more than an hour just to get on a shuttle and the place you're waiting is full of diesel fumes, dirty, and hot. They didn't let you know that you need to bring your personal car insurance information with you. The car smellled strongly of cigarettes with a terrible chemical air freshener trying and failing to cover it up. There was no registration in the car, and no check at the start to see what damage was there. The car made a loud clicking noise the whole time we had it.

Fuel Option - Deceptive at best -
Pros: Car was OK
Cons: The usual fuel options are spelled out on the wall of the rental counter. I wanted the standard fuel option - return full, or pay ~$10 per gallon if not full. The agent would not let me select this option - insisting that I select the Prepay Full Tank option ($55), and that I would not be charged if I returned the car full. He handed me a contract to which had no indication of the option to return full and not be charged. He insisted the $55 charge was "only an estimate" and that I would not be charged. I refused to sign, and he produced a stamper and stamped in red "Prepaid Fuel Reversal 100% If Returned Completely Full" on the contract. With that, I signed the contract and enjoyed my rental. Upon return, the agent was surprised that I filled the tank, and indicated I had been charged the $55. I notified him of the agreement, and produced the contract with the red stamp. The agent told me I had to return to another agent to process the fuel refund. This extra step upon return was not what I was promised (I would not be charged, "only an estimate"), and not what I wanted. The San Juan, PR airport location is not allowing renters to receive the published fuel option of their choice. Had I returned the car a couple of gallons short, I would have had no recourse but to pay the $55.

Cons: The fact that they charge daily for the use of toll roads (like 3.95 per day) plus the toll prices. The wait on the line to get the vehicle was ridiculous.

Pros: Service when I extended my rental. The service rep was super friendly & understanding. She made this rental feel so much more worth it in comparison to my pick up experience.
The service reps name was Sollelie I think and she might have saved your relationship with me
Cons: However, when I picked up my car I had to wait for over 45 minutes. When I asked what was wrong several times I felt ignored and unimportant. The car was still not cleaned to your own standards & no apology was offered. I was really surprised by this service and I could see the same aggravation in other customers that were waiting too. Meanwhile I could see customers at your competitors getting their cars, being offered upgrades to accommodate an unavailable car for one customer and general satisfaction with their experience

Cons: I was not given any instructions on the car dropoff. There was no key dropbox and there were no instructions sent to me about the key dropoff either. We spent nearly an hour trying to call europcar and find a place to drop off the key. In the end we decided to just lock the car keys in the vehicle. Almost missed my flight too. Will never use this company again.

Pros: There was nothing to like- I scheduled my pick up for 8 pm and waited an hour with my husband and 2-year-old for them to pick us up from the airp[ort. We waited and waited, while all the other car rental buses passed us. Eventually, another bus driver told me that they closed at 8 pm.
Cons: Why wasn't this information shared with me when I made my reservations? Fortunately, I was able to book another car company (allied) which opens 24 hours and got the same deal. I will never book Eurocar again and maybe its best to just call the car rental directly and not go through Kayak.

Pros: The guys at the counter were helpful and friendly. There was an issue with our car (it broke down) and they delivered a new car to us quickly and without any problems. It's close proximity to the airport and the shuttle service was fast.
Cons: The checkin and checkout was slow. I was second in line and it took over half hour to check out. They did not have the car I was guaranteed and so I ended up with a pickup truck. Kind of cool, but not what I ordered for me and my family. Then the truck broke down mid week. They replaced it quickly so that was good.

I tried to modify my rental and they did not answer the phone, I dropped off the car and they were not open during their posted hours. Their website said they had no cars available when in reality they were closed for business. I simple phone call could have sufficed. They could have had someone to answer phone calls remotely even if they were closed.

Cons: The customer service representative was extremely rude. We waited literally an hour and a half in line because every customer was taking about a half an hour to process. We were asked to present our entire car insurance policy to the representative in order to rent the car. No one brings their entire insurance policy with them, and they required it which was why the line took so long. I finally had to call my car insurance back in the states and have them send me my entire plan so that I could show the representative. They also forced us to buy a tollway pass for 60 extra dollars because they lied and said that we couldn’t pay with cash to get through the tolls. Worst car rental service I have ever experienced.

Fine. When we got to the location our expected price to pay was not close to what we paid. It was about $80 more. When asking the associate about the extra charges we were unable to get a break down for additional charges. All we were told was additional taxes and fees. But taxes and fees had already been on the estimate. No where on the reservation does it say that we were to be charged additional. Only time under terms and conditions that we were to get charged additional is pick up or drop off at a different time date or location. OR choosing a different vehicle. It is disheartening that this company takes advantage of families this way. Arriving later at night in a island that you don’t know, do you truly have any other option than to abide by their last minute changes? I will not be returning to kayak for future bookings.

Estuve un incidente que me hizo pensar la forma de evaluar los carros , mi hija condujo mi carro personal ,al no tener estacionamiento lo hi X o al frente que ademad esta la carretera en malas condiciones.Mi hija al dar reversa tocó el bumper lateral de un carro de alquiler ,y el empleado a cargo la culpo de un rayazo que visiblemente era ilógico que fue causado por el toque ya que mi carro es rojo y el rayazo era blanco ,no había abolladuras ni nada ,pero el empleado insistía que fue mi hija.Esperamos la policía aprox.2 horas,el agente evaluo y refirió que no había daño y que por la posición de los carro no había sido mi hija, el policía retiró con los dedos la pintura Blanca del vehículo del local y se lo señaló al empleado,gerente y supervisor.Asi que cuidado pues no me habían anotado el cristal roto

Cons: Charged 150 for toll fee when we could have paid it online. They inspected the vehicle and after clearing all the balance, they charged 500 dollars for damage. When no damage was done and nothing was told to us while inspection
Pros: The initial price point was good. The driver who picked us up from the airport was very friendly and funny.
Cons: The airport pickup for Dollar is not signed at all...as in NOTHING. It took 20 minutes to get picked up from the airport once we were in the right spot. When we picked up the vehicle they upcharged me for multiple things and didn't put some very obvious damage to the car on the initial papers.
Pros: nothing was good about dollar. I was told I got there too late so they automatically cancelled my reservation. I fought with the rental agent to check their cameras, just to prove I was there on time. long story short they didn't have the car I reserved so they cancelled my reservation.
Cons: dollar could've been more honest and said they didn't have the car I reserved, and try to resolved the situation differently instead of lying about it. their cameras proved I was there on time, and to doubt if I was there made me even more upset, I made reservations in accordance with my flight

Pros: Nice shuttle ride from airport to rental place. Got a nice car for a free upgrade. No hassle return!
Cons: I made my reservation for 4 days and was given a total that included taxes and fees. The charges were:

Taxes & Fees $ 33.00
Total: $121.00
When I got to the counter at 2:00 am the girl at the counter stated that my estimated amount did not include all the taxes so I was charged as follows:
Car Rental: $ 88.00
Taxes & Fees $ 95.06
Total: $183.06
This is a big difference and this is DECEPTIVE. It was 2:00 am and everyone was tired so we had no other choice but to just accept the price.
When they brought us our car, the car was in bad shape with a lot of dings and scratches but the worst part is the front bumper was screwed in place with a drywall screw. You could see the screwhead on the side panel of the car.
When I asked for another car because I was concerned about the car’s safety and reliability, they told me they didn’t have anything else to offer me.
By now it’s 2:30 am and we were really tired and had no other choice but to accept the car
I have used Dollar in the past and have never had an issue. I am extremely disappointed in the level of service, condition of the car and amount of inaccuracy in total charge of this Dollar Rental location

Pros: The car was clean and nice. The customer service is okay even though it is extremely slow. Checking in the vehicle after rental was quick and painless.
Cons: They try to tack on insurance fees when you already have insurance. You have to question them multiple times about charges to get an honest price. My reservation said $85, and they tried to charge me ~$150. Only after questioning them multiple times I brought the charges back down to ~$100. Pros: The initial price point was good. The driver who picked us up from the airport was very friendly and funny.
Cons: The airport pickup for Dollar is not signed at all...as in NOTHING. It took 20 minutes to get picked up from the airport once we were in the right spot. When we picked up the vehicle they upcharged me for multiple things and didn't put some very obvious damage to the car on the initial papers.

Pros: nothing was good about dollar. I was told I got there too late so they automatically cancelled my reservation. I fought with the rental agent to check their cameras, just to prove I was there on time. long story short they didn't have the car I reserved so they cancelled my reservation.

Cons: I made my reservation for 4 days and was given a total that included taxes and fees. The charges were:

Taxes & Fees $ 33.00
Total: $121.00
When I got to the counter at 2:00 am the girl at the counter stated that my estimated amount did not include all the taxes so I was charged as follows:
Car Rental: $ 88.00
Taxes & Fees $ 95.06
Total: $183.06
This is a big difference and this is DECEPTIVE. It was 2:00 am and everyone was tired so we had no other choice but to just accept the price.
When they brought us our car, the car was in bad shape with a lot of dings and scratches but the worst part is the front bumper was screwed in place with a drywall screw. You could see the screwhead on the side panel of the car.
When I asked for another car because I was concerned about the car’s safety and reliability, they told me they didn’t have anything else to offer me.
By now it’s 2:30 am and we were really tired and had no other choice but to accept the car
I have used Dollar in the past and have never had an issue. I am extremely disappointed in the level of service, condition of the car and amount of inaccuracy in total charge of this Dollar Rental location

Pros: The car was clean and nice. The customer service is okay even though it is extremely slow. Checking in the vehicle after rental was quick and painless.
Cons: They try to tack on insurance fees when you already have insurance. You have to question them multiple times about charges to get an honest price. My reservation said $85, and they tried to charge me ~$150. Only after questioning them multiple times I brought the charges back down to ~$100. Also 2 different customers were accused of damaging their car while we were standing in line, both had taken pics and proved otherwise. It is slow, rude, disorganized, poorly ran, etc.

Cons: 2 hours after my reservation I was able to drive off the lot (due to understaffing and lack of preparedness). The tire pressure light was on and they took longer to get the light to turn off. It ended up being a slow leak in the tire that went flat while I was two hours away. Roadside assistance came, and instead or patching/replacing the tire, they installed the temporary tire (donut). The drive back became three hours through the mountains because I had to be very careful with the little tire. It was not safe on roads with many potholes. They knew where I was when I had the flat, and they still chose to install a temporary. I will not be renting with this company again. I told the manager upon return that this was unacceptable, and I was given a $50 discount off an already inflated price with all of the added fees. (The price you booked for will not end up being what you pay).
