It took for ever to get a car, not complaining about that as I arrived early and the accommodate me. The car has so many noises. I tried talking to someone and was places on hold to then be hang up on. On top of that, the return was TERRIBLE. I stopped to put gas nearby First asked the gas clerk to charge me $25. That was not enough so went inside the gas station, again and paid $5 cash. The pump stopped (been full) with $1..71. Upon the return of the vehicle, the unprofessional clerk at Banco Popular rental car tells me I going to be charged $6+ because the tank was not full.. WTFReviewed 31 Oct 2022

We had to cancel our trip. We could not cancel successfully because the webpage did not support canceling through the app for Puerto Rico. I ended up trying to call customer service for Sixt I, and it did not take me to a USA customer service line. It took me 21 in Germany, and it charged us for international calls. iMessage them multiple times, and they did not respond to partially cancel the reservation until I said in the email that I would get lawyers involved. I have had rented cars with SIXT in Europe and one other occasion in Puerto Rico with no issues at all. This time in Puerto Rico was very different. The extras and the charge for eight dollars a day for tolls was very unexpected, and I felt that I was pressure to take it. Even if you don't go through tolls, you still have to pay, use it or not. This had never happened with this company before nor any of the other car rental companies on the island. Yes, I did reserved an economy car, but what I got was literally a shoe with wheels. The shuttle from the airport took almost an hour to pick us up and then transfer to the new location. The only positive was the gentleman that I dealt with at the counter, but he told me, that it the car had sand inside, that they were going to charge me a substantial fee for cleaning it. I will probably rent from SIXT in Germany again, but never ever in Puerto Rico. Beware of the extras not mentioned when reserving your vehicle. Use any of the other rental companies with better reputation and larger selection of vehicles.Reviewed 5 Aug 2022

Pros:The staff was friendly, despite the issues experienced.Cons:Literally everything else. From the long wait, to having a faulty and dangerous car, to their support phone lines not working or being responsive (no one answered phone calls, either at the office or at corporate), to trying to contact anyone with the company to discuss a refund, it was a truly disappointing experience. I had plans to use their rental car that day to drive around the island and hike El Yunque. Instead, I spent from 10am to nearly 4pm attempting to resolve this rental issue.Reviewed 27 May 2021
