I had 4 different cars, and not by choicePros:The employees at the pickup location were very nice and friendlyCons:Had to get 4 different rentals, first one had maintenance required light on as well as the tire pressure light, second 1 I drove for 3 days and the tire pressure light came on, I took it to the tire shop and they said it had clearly been driven on when the tire was flat/low and I ran a risk of a blow out. I had to drive it 4 hours back to the rental shop stopping every hour to check the tire. The 3rd car they gave me stunk of smoke so bad I couldn't stand to be in it, when I asked for a new car they said the didn't have any, I suggested the upgrade me then because I wasn't driving that car, magically they found one in the price point I had paid for. I took the 4th car and drove it for about 4 days before the key fob died, I had to drive the car an hour to get the battery replaced. Not one apology was made nor was I offered any sort of compensation. I will never rent from them again.Reviewed 19 Jul. 2017

Pros:The car was comfortable and a great value.Cons:It is challenging to travel these days due to concerns about COVID and Sixt employees didn't help. When I picked up the car, I was asked to wait outside to maintain social distancing, which I understand, but it was said rudely and when a second customer arrived, that customer wasn't asked to wait outside, which I don't understand. In the meantime, one employee behind the counter was eating and another person, coughing. The staff tried to sell me additional insurance with a story about what would happen if the rental broke down while on the road, even after I let them know that I had already purchased additional insurance through Kayak. The car itself wasn't as clean as I expected, even though the website said that there were enhanced cleaning procedures. It smelled like a sandwich and I found crushed chips and a straw under the passenger side seat. Again, not very comforting in the middle of a pandemic. When I returned the car, the employee behind the counter barely glanced up from his phone and asked whether the gas tank was full, even though I received the car with 3/4 of a tank. There was no inspection or anything so fingers crossed everything went well—not a very reassuring drop off. I really liked driving the car but everything else about this experience was not so enjoyable.Reviewed 6 Aug. 2020

Pros:Car was nice, staff was nice. Pickup was okay. Drop off was good. Rate was good.Cons:Helpful staff, but the super sneaky and difficult policies really make me never want to rent from this place again. Spirit changed my flight and I had to pay a rebooking fee just to change a couple hours over. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I really didn't enjoy dealing with the whole ordeal. I have to drop off exactly where I picked up otherwise... you guessed it... a fee. Car was not that clean and the handles for seat adjustment were sticky. Gross. If you are fine dealing with a little hassle or potential disappointment for a decent rate, this might be a good fit.Reviewed 13 Nov. 2020

Pros:I enjoyed to rental. Had no problems with the vehicle and it was a just what was needed for the purpose it was rented for.Cons:I stood outside expecting to be told where the vehicle would be parked. After standing outside the store for more than 5 minutes, something told me to hit the unlock button, that’s when I saw the vehicle had been in the parking lot the entire time while I’m standing there. When it was time to drop off the vehicle, we arrived at the return location 30 minutes before 12noon to find a sign on the door telling all customers the store was closed. The sign told customers to visit the Georgian Terrance Midtown location which was 20 minutes away. No address was on the posted sign. Once the vehicle was returned to the new location, I was charged $20 for a flexi-return fee which was not my fault due to the Buckhead location being closed with directions to travel to the Midtown location. This was an inconvenience to customers. It would be been nice to receive an email or call to all customers returning vehicles that day and a note on our account that the return location was closed so that we would not be charged. Although the prices are good, I would rather pay more for better service.Reviewed 21 Jul. 2020

Pros:Absolutely horrible customer service.Cons:Car was not at airport for pickup. Stated car was 30 miles away and the location would close before my flight landed. Asked if we could have one from airport, stated it would be an additional $316 dollars to transfer. There was a physical SIXT location at the airport. Complete robbery, agent stated there was nothing he could do unless I paid the fee or waited until they opened the next morning and drove (with what car?) Was told to call to cancel, when you call it tells you to send an email. Will never recommend or book with SIXT.Reviewed 22 Jun. 2020

Pros:I ended up not renting the car because I requested a pick up time of 5 pm and it turned out the location closed at 5 pm. When I called customer service to work out a solution, I said to the customer service rep it would have been nice if the woman, with whom I spoke when I rented the car and who knew I was flying in to Atlanta from out of town, had informed me of the closing time. His response was that it was my fault for not telling her there was a possibility I might be late. An argument then ensued and he would not concede the point that it would have been good customer service for her to inform me of the closing time. Basically, he wanted to win an argument instead of providing good customer service. I will not rent from Sixt Car Rental again.Cons:I believe above explains what could have been better.Reviewed 16 Mar. 2021

Beware if you Pre-PayPros:I ended up with a 2016 Yukon with under 20k in miles. The exterior was clean and had minimal damage. However, the trouble it took to get the car outweighed the overall value.Cons:I arrived to pick up the vehicle early, there was a long wait. Upon being called to the counter I was advised that my vehicle (full size) was no longer available. Upon questioning they admited that they gave it to someone earlier (who hadn't pre-paid by the way). I was offered another vehicle which was a smaller class but luxury and told that this is their policy. I had to keep pushing to get another option as I selected FULL SIZE for a reason. Finally I was sent to another location (10 miles away in rush hour traffic) and told they had enough vehicles after I had to ASK them to confirm before I drove all the way there. I am going to shorten this because my blood is starting to boil reliving it. I arrived at the second location over an hour later due to traffic and was told that they don't give out cars since all of their cars are already committed. I asked for management, (did no good) but the other girl at the counter must have called them because she came over and said they were told it was okay to give me one of the 4 full-size cars they had. Now the fun part, she pulls up my reservation to transfer it to their location and discovers I pre-paid which apparently is a no no within their system. I was told they couldn't give me the car but I could pay for it and wait for my refund, but I would be paying the full price (same day rental rate)!!!!!!!! Much more transpired, and ultimately 5 hours later I ended up with a vehicle. The car was nice, but smelled like marijuana, had sticky stuff all over the compartments and steering wheel. Did not have a full tank, but they marked it did. Had no windshield washer solution, oil monitor stayed on giving warning that there was only 20% left. Not the type of thing you want to deal with when getting on the road. Also the tire pressure was very low so I had to do some maintenance stuff on a rental car! ughh Oh btw did I mention you can't get a live person on the phone when you call them to address a pick-up issueReviewed 15 Mar. 2017

Do not use this company.Pros:This car was ok, I had never driven a vehicle like this.Cons:When I arrived to the SIXT desk at the airport, I was told I did not reserve my rental with this location. This is not true, I have rented several cars from ALT airport. I explained to the rep that I have two large suitcases over fifty lbs, a car seat, and two more small bags on a luggage cart, also pushing my son in a stroller because I was traveling alone. She informed me this is not the first time this has happened but there was nothing she could do about it. I had to find transportation to another SIXT location across town or pay this significantly higher escalated price to rent from the airport location.I informed the rep that I prepaid and I was not willing to pay an up-charge for a computer mistake and I probably could not get to the other location because I was not familiar with Atlanta I live in Houston plus I have a ton of luggage. She mentioned that I had 48 minutes to get to this location because they closed at 7pm, so I should make a decision soon. Needless to say I was able to catch an Uber ($40) to the other location 2 mins before closing. Then I was charged $40 to return the rental to the SIXT airport location at the end of my 6 day vacation. Worst experience ever!Reviewed 13 Jul. 2017

Pros:It was an awful experience overall. I didn't like anything and I will never use this company again.Cons:I arrived at the Buckhead location and there were 2 agents behind their desks talking to each other and no customers. Neither looked up nor greeted me. When I approached the desk and said good morning the woman said in a very sarcastic tone " I said Welcome when you walked in". They both stared at me, neither offering to assist me. I walked over the the woman (Kennedy) and she started to look up my reservation. I asked if I could use their restroom and she told me I could walk to the hotel next door as their restrooms were not open to the public. I reminded her I wasn't just the public, but a customer, and she still would not allow it. I advised her I would be leaving my car overnight in the parking lot of the strip mall where their store was located. She advised me that if I did so my car would be towed as they did not have permission to use the parking spaces located in the strip mall. There was no signage anywhere prohibiting parking, or dedicating the spaces to other stores, but she was very adamant that if I left my car it would get towed. She advised me that I should have taken an uber, as most of their customers do. There is nothing on the booking site that states no parking. I suggested that a store lease typically allows for customer parking and she said it was not the case. At that point the conversation had become very unpleasant and I felt like she would probably have my car towed just to prove me wrong. I asked her for an alternative for parking and she offered to cancel my reservation, which I accepted. I have pictures of the ample parking available directly in front of the store, with Kennedy in the background telling me I was not allowed to take pictures. The entire 20 minute transaction was so rude, and the threat of having my car towed was so real that I didn't feel I had a choice. I was forced to look for a last minute alternative and was late to my business meeting as a result of this grave inconvenience. The ticket number she gave me for my cancellation was #02461640. My reservation was not availableCons:Upon arrival I was told my rental car was not available and that there were no cars available. In addition to that there were no cars in the entire city of Atlanta. I was stranded. This screw up set me back $500. Absolutely unacceptable. Pros:The person in charge was very kind and did her best to fulfill our needs. Offered complimentary GPS and second driver.Cons:The car was not ready on time, it was given to us almost 2 hours later. Never trust your reservationCons:I originally had a reservation with a different rental car company but cancelled it when I got a confirmed reservation with Sixt because it was a much better price. When I went to pick up my car, there were no cars available. There were also 4 other people waiting on cars in front of me.. All with reservations too. I left without a car.
