Total lack of transparency regarding the daily price. We prebooked/prepaid a class and the end charge was double what we expected. No mention at the counter. You don’t get a copy of the invoice at drop off - you get it days later and then they make it difficult to see the charges/details. Unacceptable customer experience with Sixt.Reviewed 13 Aug 2022

Terrible customer servicePros:They say they credited me after not having car I ordered available - have not verified that yet.Cons:They did not have my car “because my flight was delayed” got a much smalller car and they offered no refund until I complained on social media. Absolutely terriblePros:Returning the vehicle was quick and simple.Cons:Given different size vehicle than was shown. Being charged more than double the original amount to get correct size vehicle and zero customer service from both Kayak and Sixt. Vehicle was received filthy with wrappers, chewed fingernail clippings, and dirt everywhere making it impossible to verify any current damage prior to assuming responsibility for vehicle. 2 hour wait to pick up the car - never againCons:The agent was slammed and completely unprepared for the number of cars picked up on a Sunday morning. The delay was worsened because they spent time upselling everything from insurance to extra drivers. ugghh!Reviewed 12 June 2018

Taken Advantage OfCons:I paid in advance for the rental insurance through Kayak . When we arrived to pick-up the car, we were told that they would not honor the insurance that Kayak had sold and that I would need to call and get a refund. We had to buy Sixt's very expensive insurance which was the same rate as the car rental itself! When we were given a detailed receipt there were so many extra charges, including the afore-mentioned insurance, an extra driver fee of £100 and a drop-off fee. All in all, the cost was 3 x the expected amount. Very bad experience as it felt like we were taken advantage of.Reviewed 24 May 2017

Not notified by email when "damage" reported on the car.Pros:Customer service at point of rental was pleasant, efficient all-round service when I had the car.Cons:I received a letter to my UK Address (I live in Russia) a week after returning the car stating there is reported damage and asking for feedback from me. As a result SIXT asked my bank to place a block on the card I used to hire the car with, so the past 7 days my card has been blocked and I had no idea until a family member opened a posted letter regarding this. I'd have appreciated an email as well as a hardcopy, then I could have dealt with the problem swiftly.Reviewed 2 Apr 2017
