Cons:I had to cancel my trip due to the coronavirus abd shutdowns in San Francisco and Los Angeles and Sixt was the only supplier that failed to give me 100% refund. They assessed a 3-day penalty and only after my complaint gave me a voucher for the amount they assessed. I live in Thailand and it is doubtful that I can use the voucher within the deadline forced on me.Reviewed 30 Apr. 2020

Pros:The only good thing about this experience was that they offered to switch the vehicle they gave me with the van I reserved; and they delivered it to where we were staying, but it was halfway through our trip and we had already done almost all of our driving in a VERY uncomfortable SUV .Cons:> I was not given the van I was told on my receipt that I ordered. The small SUV they gave me BARELY fit all of us and our luggage - which we had to have under our feet and on our laps - very dangerous and EXTREMELY uncomfortable. > They offered to switch the vehicle with the van I ordered - which they had rented to someone else - halfway through our trip. We accepted, but we had already done 90% of our driving in the small SUV. Not really helpful. > I had to spend an additional $25/day (amounting to another $300) for insurance, although I had already purchased a plan through Alliance, which was suggested when I booked the vehicle online. There was nothing that stated this was not going to be valid in Ecuador, but that's what I was told and as a result I HAD to purchase the other insurance. Cons:Booked online over a month ago, got there and they had no cars for my reservation. Didn’t even offer to upgrade me for free, had to pay over $100 for a vehicle that they had. Never called me to let me know they didn’t have the car I rented in stock and then I had to pay for their poor planning. Couldn’t even find the way in, had to park on the side and walk through the bushes. Horrible experience. Even after I paid I had to wait over 30 min to get the car and it wasn’t even that clean.Reviewed 6 Oct. 2020
