I prepaid for 1 week mini van rental 2 weeks in advance. When I arrived, the female agent was rude and informed me that they were sold out of vehicle. This put me in a bad position since I needed the van to go out of town.Reviewed 30 Apr 2024

AVR Houston is not located at the airport. Trying to make arrangements for pickup was a bit challenging. We had an early morning flight and asked about after hours returns. We were told they had a contract with a local hotel for drop off and the hotel shuttle ran every 15 minutes. We arrived at just after 5:00 am at the hotel. The front desk person was on a shuttle run and informed us that the hotel shuttle only ran every hour and we could not leave the hotel until after 6:00 am. Had to walk some distance to their facility. (It wasn't located at the airport rental car facility.) Then, I had to spend too long looking for someone to help me get the car. If I could give AVR a zero rating I would. The staff was rude and very unhelpful. I booked online for a 8am pickup but had changed my flight to a later flight and then that flight got delayed. Finally made it to their location which was off property and used to find. I had final them 4x to figure out where this shuttle was bc there are no signs for their company. When I finally got there, 30 mins to closing they said they gave my reservation away. Then she the lady said “oh sorry we have no cars left (which I saw cars on the lot) and pretty much whooshed me away. I had a family of 7. What a nightmare. I did rebook online with SIXT which was a few blocks and and SIXT was awesome. 😎 Never Ever again with AVR!!!Reviewed 6 Apr 2024

They advertised they were an airport van rental company. My flight arrived at 6 pm and when I called to get a shuttle to pick up my van AVR rental was closed (hours are 8 am to 4 pm). I had to rent a car from Avis at the airport and when I called AVR Rental the next day they refused to issue me a refund. Terrible company. Should not be allowed to list their vans on your site alongside normal rental car companies.Reviewed 2 Apr 2024

The Airport Van Rental was a mess! They lied and said “in terminal” on Kayak listing. The Airport shuttle had never heard of them. I got two different directions on every step to get the car and return it. The car had two shatter across the windshield. The car was on empty and was told we didn’t need to worry about that. I was charged $300.00 more after booking this and I wasn’t able to get out of it. I would never recommend using this service on your search ingine.Reviewed 2 Apr 2024
