Reserved intermediate SUV months in advance. Got there and had to wait an hour before they even had a car. Then, received an extra small suv. So small, my passengers had to hold luggage in their laps. Even worse, manager refused to give us the right size car (there were 4 in the lot), refused to adjust the rate for giving us a smaller car - - indicated, I can adjust rhe rate, but I’ll charge you more because today’s rates are higher - - essentially - we raised prices so you don’t get what we agreed to when the reservation was made. Them their customer service is just as useless. They can’t call the local store, can’t adjust the rate themselves, and are unable to see the inventory at other locations. Literally the only thing they could do was to tell me to drive the wrong car to another location — ofcourse they didn’t know where any other locations were or if any had the vehicle reaerved. Not to mention, the only other location had already closed for the day (it was 6 pm). Never ever rent from Avis or Budget - their associates are as worthless as their company.Reviewed 21 Oct 2026

The online system was not working and we had to wait for a manual form to be filled. Car was okay, but drop-off was time-consuming, as our booking was not in the system yet! And at the end they charged us more than what they told us at the time of pickup! And they didn’t provide a receipt until I called them and asked for it! Upon flight arrival then made our way to the rental cars area. We were informed that they were overbooked and there were no cars available. We were informed that we can get a car on Friday morning and to return the next day. Our home city was not in jackson. We needed to drive 60 more miles. We were stranded at an airport at midnight. The airport closed, we were left sitting on a bench after police left for the night. An Uber to take us to our home city was 178 one way. Due to our home city being 60 miles away. We had to wake our elderly parents to come get us. We should have been informed before arriving at the rental counter so that we could make other arrangements. We were placed on a list at the time #8. We also attempted to us another car rental agency without luck. We do not recommend.Reviewed 19 Oct 2026

There was very poor advance communication concerning what documents were required to rent a vehicle in Hong Kong. When I arrived at the Avis facility they advised me that I needed the actual or copy of my previous expired US drivers license to prove that I had a license before my current valid license. This requirement applied to those persons 64 years of age or older. Persons in the US typically do not keep their expired drivers licenses.Reviewed 18 Oct 2026

Originally on the booking mode was a Toyota Cross as was looking for a vehicle that could accommodate my 3 big suitcases. On arrival at the desk the person attending me said that this choice was not available but to go and look at the other 2 vehicles on offer (a Suzuki & Cherry). Both were much smaller and could only fit 2 of my suitcases. The young lady did some "brainstorming" and offered me a VW Polo sedan as she saw that I had initially looked at a Toyota Quest which I knew could accommodate these 3 suitcases. The problem was that the Quest was in Manual and I wanted Automatic. It was the right choice, and this young lady satisfied my needs by "going out of the box". Unfortunately, I did not get her name as I would hv liked to thank her in this msg. If somehow, it can be traced who attended to me and relay the compliment personally would be greatly appreciated.Reviewed 17 Oct 2026
