Cons: Kayak Allowed me to make a reservation but when I arrived budget did not have any cars available to rent so why doesn’t KAYAK allow a reservation to be made if the facility has no cars available. This happens over and over again with other car rental agencies booked via KAYAK

Not a great experience at allPros: The car was a gas saver and comfortable.Cons: I got to the place at 8:15am and it was not opened. The sign says open at 8am, but only the car maintenance guy was there and he did not have the keys to the door. He called the manager of that location, and the manager stated that the person that opens at that location had to go to the hospital; I can understand that. I then called Budget customer service and they said that there was a Budget 20 blocks up the road, but that we needed to find a way to the other location. They have a shuttle that goes from the airport to that location, but could not have the shuttle pick us up and take us to the location; which is further from the airport from the location that two others and I, who had reservations, were waiting for. Finally an employee opened the door at 8:55am. The car that I got had damage on it and you can tell that its been in an it. Also, I had to argue back and forth with the maintenance guy for a few minutes to put air in a tire that my wife and I can obviously see was flat. We had to travel nearly 300 miles to our destination and would not take the risk of riding on a flat tire.

The girl was rude and didn’t communicate well as to how she was trying to fix the problem. We ended up leaving the location and going with a rental car down the street.

Pros: Nothing.Cons: Lady at the desk was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Reserved a convertible. Not only did they not have a convertible, but they actually didn’t have ANY cars available at the time we reserved. And we had a tour booked that we were trying to make. After an hour they told us that they’d located a car but that it was getting an oil change and therefore may take another hour. So we canceled, ubered to Budget, and got a car on the spot.

Pros: The convertible mustang was perfect for driving down the coast from Miami to Key West!Cons: After confirming location, I ubered from my hotel which cost 27$ to the location because I could not get in touch with anyone to pick me up, which was the main reason I chose enterprise. The location was closed and I called Enterprise’s main number and they told me to go to another location which was also closed. At this point I had more in Uber than I did in the rental. I finally got ahold of another location and had to Uber again there. Once I got the car there was no walk around, it had a half a tank of fuel causing me to make another stop, and was filthy inside and smelled of smoke.

Cons: Enterprise was not at the Collins Avenue location indicated online. They had moved 2 years ago and the address was never updated. They sent a car to drive us to the new location in the Fountainbleu Hotel. Worked out OK but was very inconvenient.

Cons: Hertz overbooked its reservations. On the morning of pickup, the staff told us there were no cars available for the 6 people waiting with confirmed reservations. Took them about 2 hours to scramble to find other cars for us. It wasn't the fault of the staff at the location, but of Hertz Corporate overbooking their vehicles.

Bait and switchPros: Nothing good to sayCons: The lady wanted to put us in a beatle. I ordered 5 passenger car with two bags. She wanted to make us pay $70 more for a similar car. I showed her what we ordered and insisted she upgrade us if she didn't have what we ordered. After threats to call Avis and complain she then was able to find a car and keep the original price. Not happy with how she handled herself or represented the company. Your staff needs to be retrained. I will question if I will use your company again because of how we were treated.

Cons: The employee arrived late, after the opening hour. We can't dropoff outside business hours ans there is no free parking on Miami beach, so we had to pay USD$19 for the parkijng (1 night) to bring back the car the morning after... Which makes the overall rental price much higher than expected.

No car to rentPros: There was nothing to like about this joke of a company.Cons: When I arrived to pick-up my car that morning, there were no cars available at the pick-up location. When I asked the attendant when some would be arriving she made a two minute phone call. She said that none were scheduled to come in that day and I would need to go to the airport to pick-up a car. This was not an option since I did not have a car, nor the time go the 20+ miles to the airport during rush hour to get a car.

Disappointed by misinformation and surchargesCons: First, I arrived to the garage to return on time but had to wait five minutes for the agent to get to me. Ultimately he ended up registering me one minute after my return time leading to an entire hour surcharge. That's (a) not my fault and (b) ridiculous that there's no five minute grace period to account for their time to service. Second, I was told "Miami Port" was the airport by the rental agent even when I asked if he was sure that it was "the airport" and not "Port of Miami." He said yes, and that it's just weird that they say it like that. When I arrived I was charged a different rate than what had originally been quoted to me in the reservation.

- Miami Beach, like most destinations in the U.S., is best explored by car. Public transportation in the city is very slow and often the wait times are long. For instance, to go from Miami Beach to the Dolphins’ stadium would take just 25 minutes in a car, but via public transportation it would take over an hour and a half.
- If you are planning on picking up a hire car after landing at Miami International Airport then head to the MIA hire Car Center with the MIA Mover, located on the third floor between the Flamingo and Dolphin Garages.
- Pedestrians, particularly pedestrians out walking their dogs, are very common in Miami Beach. As a result, jaywalking is also a common occurrence and drivers should keep their eyes open for any unexpected street crossers. Pedestrians will be most common in the afternoon and evening hours, so keep that in mind when driving around Miami Beach.
- As a major city, Miami does have its fair share of rush hour traffic. The morning rush hour is the lighter of the two and only lasts from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. most mornings. The afternoon and evening rush hour is a bit more severe and lasts from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the work week.
