Keep trying to book directly with Avis for your car. You may eventually find a price equivalent to QEEQ's price. Then you can skip the line.

KAYAK’s top tips for hiring a car in Reno
Surrounded by lush parks and forests, Reno is a unique oasis that provides plenty of opportunity for outdoor exploration. Deciding to rent a car during your time in Reno will be a worthwhile decision, opening up the ability to discover the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Truckee River, and the valleys and desert of Nevada. By hiring a car and maximizing your time in town you will be able to explore the amazing natural landscapes and still check out the funky and eclectic nightlife of downtown Reno.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is located only 3 miles from the downtown district, meaning you can pick up your hire car and be in the city in no time at all. Survey the best list of hire options available at Reno-Tahoe International Airport using KAYAK and organize your hire before you arrive. Major global hire companies such as Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Thrifty, and Budget have counters located within the baggage claim area of the airport terminal.
If you plan on traveling to the many mountainous areas surrounding the valley that Reno sits in, keep in mind that the weather at high elevations is unpredictable and thus the road conditions can change quickly. Ensure that you regularly check local weather reports and take extra precautions when driving on snow or ice.
Rush hour is a relative piece of cake in Reno compared to other major cities across the United States. While there is increased congestion on the roads between 7 am and 9 am and between 5 pm and 6:30 pm, most of the city is reachable within 45 minutes -- even if you are coming from the opposite side of town!
If you plan to travel with your kids to Reno, you should consider child safety rules in the city. Reno law requires you to secure all children under six and shorter than 145 cm in an authorised child restraint system. All children under two should ride in the backseat of the car in a rear-facing child safety seat. Whenever you step out of the vehicle, ensure all children under seven are attended to by an adult or someone above 12. Besides enhancing your child's safety, adhering to these rules will save you unnecessary fines.
Most car hire providers accept credit cards, which should be in the main driver's name. However, some companies allow debit card payments with additional restrictions. These include providing a ticketed return travel itinerary at the airport, getting insurance for cheap car hire in Reno or paying a cash deposit. These requirements normally vary depending on the company. Always check your provider's payment terms in advance to avoid issues during pickup.
If you plan to explore Reno with your furry buddy, you can do so with a Reno hire car. Most Reno car hire providers allow pets in their vehicles. However, they may charge an additional fee or include special restrictions like keeping your pet in a crate and securing it with a seatbelt while in the vehicle. For customers with disabilities, you can have your service animal in the car without a crate. Make regular stops during your road trip to allow your pet to relieve themselves outside.

First, I received my email with a confirmation number reserving my vehicle, a Pacifica minivan. Got to the counter and the employee stated my reservation was canceled. They had no more large vehicles to rent. I did not cancel my reservation. I was in a panic as I had three children to haul around plus adults. The employee was kind enough to go in the back to speak with someone and they found me an SUV. I feel I could have been given a break on my rate as the reservation some how was canceled.

The staff from the nice guy at the counter, the girl in the booth and the friendly return guy were all fantastic. The car itself had dings all over it. It was missing paint on the driver's door. It didn't have any floor mats. Carpet was ripped or slashed on the passenger side and messed up on the driver's side as well. We were running late for a dinner appointment when we arrived or I would've never drove off in that vehicle. On the plus side, it did get us from point A to point B.
I’m very satisfied with my experience. The process was fast and easy.

In the middle of processing my rental at the Avis desk, when I was picking up the car, the Avis computer went down. It ended up that they charged on my credit card twice for the car rental (but only once for the $200 security deposit). When I tried calling their billing, they could not find my rental and then they told me to call the Reno Airport Avis office, but the number they gave me only got me back to the same corporate automatic phone tree. Finally, there customer service office told me that it should work out when I returned the car. I returned the car yesterday morning as scheduled, but I still have not received the final bill.

I couldn't add my wizard number because I booked through Qeeq. So even though I could check in online for the car, I had to wait an hour in line to pick it up. Only one counterperson was on duty, and even once I got through that, the car wasn't available for another 20 minutes.

My drop off was at Circus Circus in Las Vegas. I was not given the exact location to where I would be park in the car and dropping off keys.. there is no indication that it should be dropped off in the second garage on the fifth level. I wasted about an hour and a half trying to figure it out, I called Avis customer service, and the guy was clueless, he suggested I just park it and leave the keys inside the car.
The total experience was great....the online reservation process, price, pick up and drop off, all went smoothly. I will book through Kayak again in the future.

Nice car, easy experience but they tried to add a $30 junk fee that I had to wait in two different lines to get removed. It’s happened multiple times to me where rental companies add junk fees on top of the agreed upon price without telling the customer just to see if they can get away with it which is unethical.

I booked a reservation through Kayak for $93.50, but Hertz would not honor the price. They HAD the reservation, they simply wouldn't honor the price. The price they gave me was $166.13 and the person at the rental desk basically said "Take it or leave it". I had no choice but to take it since I had to be somewhere quickly

I reserved a car from Hertz through your site on August 10, for a pickup at RNO on Sept. 22. I prepaid a portion of the charge ($171.20), leaving a balance ($54.62) due at pickup. Instead, was charged $110.64 at the Hertz desk, and told my only recourse was to call their Customer Relations/Billing phone number to resolve the issue. That proved useless, as they would not honor the stated price on my contract. I believe that $56.02has been stolen from me, and I will never rent from Hertz again. Further, if Kayak is unable to get the overcharge reversed by Hertz, I will never use your service again, and I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. The price quoted should be the price charged. Period.
Terrible experience. Will never use them again. We reserved a vehicle 6 months prior to travel. When we got there they only had a minivan for us. We had 6 people and a baby we were going into the mountains to ski and they could only provide a front wheel drive minivan when we ordered a luxury SUV with four wheel drive. I went over to enterprise and they took care of me
The vehicle I booked was not actually available. I called the day before when I received an emailed showing a 7 passenger instead of a 12 passenger van. After speaking with 2 different people, 2 different phone calls and over an hour - mostly on hold. They promised me it would be resolved and it was NOT!
