Pros:Nobody told me I needed a credit card to pick up my car with the rental agency, so I laid for my rental but never got to take the car because I didn’t bring a credit card with meReviewed 15 Dec. 2020

Reps probably shouldn't give too much "advice"Pros:Although the representatives we spoke to steered us completely wrong on which car to rent in snow, the rep could tell I was frustrated and upset and provided us with a new Infinity which was a nice ride for the weekend.Cons:We called twice to confirm with 2 representatives that ALL tires were safe driving in snow and both reps confirmed that they were "weather proof" tires and not recommended to put chains on them. Because of that we chose to go with a smaller car instead of the SUV which would save us $70. But when we got there the front desk said she strongly advised the SUV in the snow which ended up costing us an additional $80 on top of the $70 we didn't end up saving at all. It would have been nice of Hertz to honor the original $150 rate since clearly their reps have very conflicting information.Reviewed 20 Feb. 2017

Cons:You did not notify me that the insurance didn’t go through so I had no coverage and had to use my own personal I stand it was a business trip. That’s not acceptable.Reviewed 18 Nov. 2020

Cons:Then the guy at the Reno drop off asked was this scuff on the rear bumper there when up picked up the car? I said really? I picked up the car the day before and drove 7 hours and parked it in my drive way with no other vehicles anywhere and then drove it to the drop off the very next day...we didn't even use the back where luggage would go and poosibly scuff the bumper? Scuffs they were all over the rear where people drag their luggage across the top of the back bumper. For almost $400.00 for a one dau rental you would think they would just say eveything looks fine....because I basically MADE A MONTHS car payment for them on that one?Reviewed 18 Jan. 2017

Cons:the outrageous price of gas for forgetting to fill it up, $$$ 9.99 gallon?!?! gimme a break this isn't Europe and thats not a liter. Hertz won't be on my radar in the future, the price is abusive, rude, and borderline scam. You should be ashamed, but I know you (corp exec.) will never read this. Customer service rep, you're ok, don't be sad. Also, the car stunk, had stains all over (coffee or pooh, note sure) and the car should be retired, I think you have extracted enough value from it.Reviewed 22 Feb. 2017

Hertz loaded on extra coverages without my approvalCons:I booked a Hertz rental car via a "special rate" of $394.91 through Kayak. I was then charged $881 - $486 dollars more than the rate. My contract was loaded up with every possible charge including: - $192 damage waiver - $131 liability insurance supplement - $48 personal accident insurance - $56 fuel purchase option - $78 concession fee recovery - $10 vehicle license fee - $24 customer facility charge I was not provided an opportunity by the agent to decline these coverages. And was not aware these had all been added to my contract until I returned the vehicle, moments before my return flight. When I called Hertz customer service, I was told that Hertz automatically matched my Kayak reservation to an old Hertz Gold Plus account (which I did not use to book this rental). And that 6-year old corporate account triggered all these extra charges. The customer service rep would not refund my money paid for these extraneous charges. Nor would the customer service manager. Both said they would either refund $175 or nothing at all. So I'm stuck with paying an extra $311 for coverages that I did not request or approve. Both customer service reps blamed me for not catching Hertz mistake. I have always thought of Hertz as the gold standard for rental cars. I was confident that when presented with Hertz own error, it would willingly refund my money for the erroneous charges in a professional manner. Instead, I was lectured as irresponsible and brushed off. I won't rent from Hertz again. They owe me $311 and an apology.Reviewed 12 Aug. 2018

Pros:Staff was friendly. Short wait time.Cons:Felt like I was a victim of a "bait and switch" scheme. Signed up for a "manger's special" and when I went to pick up the car i was told the only available "car: was a full size pickup truck - when I balked, miraculously, there was a mid-sized car made available to me for an up charge of over $100. Not an honest way to operate.Reviewed 18 May 2021

2018 FORD FUSION IS TRASHPros:BUT WARMERS AND FUEL EFFICENCYCons:The car has little trunk space and is more for 2-3 full sized adults, Heaven forbid you get 4, 6-foot adults in this car, y'all will be in hell for road trips. the seats are soooooooo uncomfortable! like you really need to prep yourself to drive this care for long distance.Reviewed 6 Mar. 2018

Pros:Quick pickupCons:Only thing that was annoying: when we came back into the airport to return the keys I was told I had to go back out to the parking garage, Move the vehicle to a specific spot, record the mileage on the contract and bring it back in. Not sure why they don't handle it.Reviewed 7 Nov. 2016
