Pros:Free upgrade due to longer wait in line and a free trade when the upgraded car did not meet our needs.Cons:I had to wait to give my keys to someone for drop off and let them know I had a full tank. I think they could do a more automated drop off.Reviewed 2 Feb. 2021

Pros:The car was clean, they found our reservation pretty quickly, car was ready to go without a delayCons:We payed $5/day for the next-best upgrade so we would have larger doorway to get in and out of after surgery. We were given the lowest base model. Employee at Hertz was very unhelpful and not empathetic at all, stated that unless we book directly with Hertz we cannot be sure what sort of car we will get except for a category. He also stated he had no cars of that model at this time... then we saw one two cars down from the car we rented. We felt a bit jipped ($25 extra for nothing), and somewhat blatantly so. And we didn't get the easier entrance to the car doors, unless we were to pay even more... which we were not disposed to do.Reviewed 6 Nov. 2020

Pros:Car was good and check-in was fast.Cons:The billing process was not good. What was promised at the time was not honored at check out I was charged far more citing this is their process... and giving a card to call Manager to resolve... not fair at all for an international traveller like me. Cons:Well for starters when you rent a car from a 3rd party site apparently they don’t tell you about all of the charges. That’s how they make it seem so cheap. Then when I got the car shortly there after I got a flat tire not a huge deal except that I waited on hold with roadside assistance for over an hour trying to get to talk to anyone and never got through. At the same time my fiancé was calling every enterprise (because dollar and enterprise are the same thing apparently) and all of the stores went straight to voicemail. Finally we gave up and I put the donut on (can’t even get a full-size spare) and drove back to the location that I got the car and had to swap it out for another one. This put a solid 4 hour delay in an already very very long trip with a temperamental 4 year old in the backseat. Then when I returned the car I got hit with an extra $80 in taxes and fees which according to the first receipt I had already paid. And to top it off I still haven’t gotten my security hold back...Reviewed 6 Jan. 2021

Cons:The vehicle rented, J15, was in need of repair. There was a noticeable oil leak with oil burning smell throughout the day. The car’s transmission has slippage and shifting issues when accelerating onto the highway. The car would likely break down soon and needs repair before returning to the rental pool.Reviewed 21 Dec. 2020

Our worst experience everPros:When we picked up our car they told us that the kayak insurance we were given was no good we had to get extra insurance that amounted to way way more… Then when we return the car, they ask for a receipt for gas. We didn't have the receipt but they could see that we returned it with a full tank, yet they insisted they had to charge us for gas without a receipt. We were tired and angry as we have been on the road for 3 1/2 week . We will never ever rent from dollar again. Pros:NothingCons:I made a mistake and reserved the car though your app for the wrong date and ended up renting a different car directly from dollar rental for the day i needed it. Funny thing is... The price was the same as the "special rate" you were offering. After calling your customer service, they said they couldn't do anything for me because I purchased the rental at your "special rate". I even proposed giving me a credit towards my next rental since I'll be traveling again this month, but was told that wouldn't make a difference because the original agreement or your "special rate" didn't allow for that. Guess that's what you get when you throw a middle man, like Kayak into the mix, things just get complicated for no good reason. I won't make that mistake again. Had a reservation, they didn't have a car.Pros:Local customer service was good, in the bad situation that corporate put them in. They put me on a waiting list, gave me the direct number to call back, and they discounted the cost of my uber rides off of the rental total. Good job Tucson desk! Boo Dollar corporate for overbooking when I had a reservation.Cons:Dear Dollar Corporate, Do I need to mail you a dictionary with the word "reservation" book marked and highlighted? I felt lied to when I reserved a car online but it was obvious your system overbooked the airport location so badly that there was no chance I was going have a car for my reservation. If it was clear to me at booking that there should, but might not, be a car ready, and the price was discounted for this risk, i would have been happy. Inform your customers beforehand! Hell, charge more for a guaranteed reservation for busy business customers and a "regular reservation" for vacationers.Reviewed 16 Aug. 2018
