Cons:Oh my, this place is a mess... it's now called allied. I rented here before with the same experience. This time I had to cancel because they were saying my online rate wouldn't allow me to use my private vehicle full coverage.... so rented online then they wanted an additional 174$... went to NU down the street got a nicer car for same original online price. Also 2 different customers were accused of damaging their car while we were standing in line, both had taken pics and proved otherwise. Don't be late.Pros:The bi-lingual staff genuinely tried to be helpful. The 24-hour shuttle is great.Cons:Our flight was delayed and when we showed up three hours later than our reservation time, they informed us that our reservation had been cancelled and they had given away our car. They have a strict 1-hour cancellation policy, which was not disclosed anywhere during the booking process. We had to wait two hours for a car to become available. Our first shuttle driver was incredibly rude. Our second one was great. This place is 1/2 the price of their competitors because they are about half as good.Reviewed 27 Feb. 2017

surprise with pickup, but great price!Pros:Anyone visiting Puerto Rico who does not want to spend all their time at the hotel/resort should definitely rent a car! It is basically the only way to see the island's amazing sites and activities. Renting with E-Z Car Rental (aka Allied) was OK. The reservation quoted me a great price. The company is not located at the airport, but they have a free shuttle that will take you to and from their location near the airport. Sadly, we I got to their office, they had no cars. There were about a dozen of us that were told that. Ended up that I wasn't going to wait HOURS for a car and I asked them to take me to my hotel... which they did. They said that they would call me when a car became available. Fortunately, there was another (smaller) E-Z / Allied location near my hotel... and I just went there and was able to secure a car at the same rate reserved. They asked me to return the car to the location near the airport (which is open 24 hours), which I did and that experience was completely hassle-free. There were no surprise charges. Their shuttle took me to the airport for an early morning flight.Cons:The customer service people certainly should of been more patient and friendly.Reviewed 22 Jan. 2017

I will never use this company again.Pros:NothingCons:We waited on the curb at the airport for the shuttle for over an hour, even after four phone calls to the company. When the shuttle finally arrived, it smelled terrible. The location is far from the airport, at least a twenty minute ride. We then stood in line waiting to check in for over an hour. (The line was short, but there were only two stations open and the check in process seemed quite lengthy.) When it was finally our turn, the desk agent chose to skip over us to assist someone else. We decided it would be faster and less frustrating to take an Uber back to the airport and use a different company. Horrible customer servicePros:The car was ok. Comfy and what I needed, but it smelled a bit like urine. The line to pick up the car was short, but the wait was insane. We waited for an hour total to get our car, which is crazy considering I had a reservation. Also, there are hidden fees like the airport service fee it something for $17.00 and they don't tell you when you reserve about the toll charges - so you have to purchase that for an additional $10 a day. When I dropped the car off, no one helped me with my luggage considering I was by myself with two young children. I had to make 3 trips to and from the car and two gentlemen just stood there and didn't offer to help. Had reservation, no cars available...Cons:We flew into Puerto Rico around 8:00 on a Friday night. Had a reservation for an economy car, there were 2 people in front of me in line and about 8 people behind me that had just come form the airport. When I made it up to the front desk I was told they had zero cars available. She explained that they were waiting for cars to be returned and it would be one or two hours until we would have one. I told her we were staying about 10 minutes away and asked if their shuttle could drop us off so we could check in and get some food while we waited, she said that would be no problem. Two shuttle drivers refused to take us to the hotel claiming they were short handed and we would have to wait for a third shuttle driver to arrive. We got an Uber and checked in and had dinner while we waited for the call that never came. I called the next morning explaining that what happened the night before and asking when a car would be available. They said I was first on the list and they would call as soon as a car was returned. Two hours later we decided to rent a car from another agency and went to cancel this reservation without so mich as an apology. Very disappointing.Reviewed 25 Jan. 2017

ComplaintPros:I rented a car from EZ car rental from the San Juan airport location (SJU) between the dates of January 8 -12, 2017. I am writing to you because I have a two concerns I would like to address about the car and service. Firstly, when we initially got the car on January 8, my friend and I walked around to inspect the car for any physical damage to ensure that it is noted by the employee who helped us out. We noticed minor but noticeable dents on the back bumper and we notified the employee. We asked twice and the employee guaranteed and gave us his word that we are not responsible for this. In fact, he explicitly said that marks, scratches, dents on the back bumper are standard on the rental cars because customers often onload and offload luggage. We trusted his word. However, when we returned the car, we were told that these dents were our fault and that we may be charged for this damage that we did not do. The employee who initially helped us out on the first day was not there so we could not ask for him. We do not know the name of this employee but I am sure that you should have it in your records who rented us out the car who can corroborate on your end. We purchased damage insurance, but it is unfair for me to be accused of and charged for any dent that I did not do, and it is the fault of the employee who rented us out the car for telling us that it is not our problem and did not mark down this dent in the initial form. Secondly, when I initially booked your service online, I was drawn in by your affordable price that was around $77. However, when I got to your centre, I was unaware of the hidden fees and taxes that brought the price up to $146. It would have been much better if your online booking process was more transparent with the actual price so I could have looked into it in more detail. Thank you for taking the time to reading this. Horrible Customer ServicePros:NothingCons:The fact that we had a reservation made well in advanced but somehow they ran out of cars and basically threw their arms up as if to say we cannot do anything for you! It started as we Arrived in San Juan, PR at 12:45am so I call the local Office and advise the gentlemen that we needed to be picked up so he verified my reservation information and tells me they only have a service minivan left, I wasn't pleased but was assured I could change it when more vehicles come in. When we arrive at the office just after 1am I am told that they have no more cars and the minivan they mentioned they had for me was just given to the one person in from of me in line. As if that wasn't frustrating enough he told me he was sorry but there was nothing else he could do and just stood there. I advised him that our final destination is 2hrs away and this was unacceptable at which point my tired wife escalated the issue asking for them to lay for a taxi to take us to our Final destination and why tell us just 20 minutes prior you had a minivan for us and still could not keep the reservation (the most important piece of what they do). He attempted to call the Area Manager but no new course of action was taken, after 2 hours of nothing but frustration they shuttled us back to the Airport where Budget was able to assist and provided us a discount based on our experience with EZ rent a car.Reviewed 18 Nov. 2016

Buyer bewarePros:They were nice.Cons:They tried to sneak in an up charge for insurance on me. My Spanish is ok and luckily I caught it and had them lower it. In the mean time they were out of the car I ordered and changed it. No problem. Allied ripped up the paperwork with the price I was quoted and agreed upon verbally and put together a new contract. Unfortunately, they sneaked in the insurance charge again on the paper work on the new car. I didn't notice the up charge this time since we agreed upon in person while I was renting the car. I'm guessing it was an honest mistake and perhaps their computer defaults to have insurance on their contracts. Since they had to redo the paperwork for the new car it must have defaulted an added the insurance. When I went to return the car they same person was not there. I asked for a manager to call and never heard from anyone. I've tried to call but have been getting the run around. I would have never rented that car with insurance. Not a good experience with the rental carCons:It took a while to get the rental car. In addition, the agent informed me I need a Toll Pass to drive from SJU to Fajardo (which is not the case); I am not familiar with PR. Feel like I was ripped off ($10 service fee and 4x6.99 toll fare ~$38 USD). Car only had half a tank (first time ever seeing this situation, where a car comes in with half tank). While driving, tried to wash the windows with the wiper and wash fluid (no fluid in the container as it wasn't serviced). Dropping off the car took more time as there was only one person working and I had to wait more than 10mintues. All in all, this is the first time I feel like the car I was driving was a mess. Might as well be a scamPros:Not a single thingCons:This is a horrible company with horrible practices. First, they overbook for cars that aren't even available in hopes that whoever rented the car before would retuRJ the car on time. My wife and I arrived and was met by the shuttle driver who had to ask us what time our reservation was, but why would it even matter if I'm just getting a ride to the counter? We finally got to the rental counter that's about 20 minutes drive away from the airport, where we were told we would be put on a wait list for a rental (there were 5 people ahead of us) because there's none available. We were told that we might have to wait until midnight or if there's no vehicles available then we are out of luck. Fortunately, a vehicle was ready for us, but they messed up and tried to give us a compact vehicle when we had reserved for a mid sized SUV for all of our luggage. Here's the other part that doesn't make sense, all the hidden charges. I understand getting charged for taxes, but we also got charged for "tire and windshield fee" and roadside assistance which I had them remove because my insurance covers both. They also charged us for an "airport concession fee", but they were in no way near or connected to the airport besides having a shuttle! We would be better off using the tip we gave to the shuttle driver to pay for a taxi and going to nearby Condado to get a rental.
