Caution on Prepaying for a rentalPros:easy access to rental at Peachtree DeKalb airport. Friendly and helpful staff.Cons:I prepaid for my rental. First, you DO NOT get a refund if you drop your car off early. Seem backwards. A prepay would have a more likely hood of showing up. Second, at least in my case with a third party reservation, they did not collect taxes. So you may search and find the lowest rate, but need TO BE SURE IF OR IF NOT THE TAXES are included in the price. Finally, the picture show was of a Prius, I have never driven or been in one and I though I would take a risk and see if I got it. Well it turns out, they didn't rent prius from that location. Pros:Kayak sent offered us a "better deal" while I was booking this car. It was at an airport 20 miles away... still called Atlanta Airport. When my husband went to pick up his car after arriving in ATL (the airport symbol I used to search for the rental car), he had to wait 1 1/2 hours in line before getting to the agent's desk. He was then told- "oh no! Not another one!" All these people in line are waiting for a car also because they were booked at this other Atlanta airport. He was then charged $1016 for a two day rental. You tell me how good this deal was! Horrible! I will pursue this issue with the BBB!Cons:Everything! How about even suggesting a mistake was made and maybe you should pay for a taxi to the other spot to pick up the car you already reserved and paid for. Cons:Office hours were wrong online and the office closed sooner. They didn't call to let us know or check in to see if we had issues with our flights that might delay our arrival. Upon check in, the staff was extremely rude to me and my family and didn’t offer any solutions. They kept saying “I am sorry we are closed”. My reaction was obviously out of frustration because of the long flight and trip to get there but also because of their lack of empathy and care. The Manager suddenly walked in and help but not before accusing me of speaking “loud” to their employees when that didn’t happen. My family was with me at all times, they are witness of my behavior, and now we are waiting in front of a closed office (which wasn’t supposed to be) and an unfriendly staff that provided no solutions to our situation until the manager came. The manager was not helpful right away, her response was also “I am sorry we are closed and we clocked out”. Ultimately, I kept pleading and asking for help, she open the office and finally gave me a car. The car - We got a car that had almost 52,000 miles on it, bad brakes, bad balancing of the tires and something was off with the wheel bearings. The car was dirty inside and out, you would think they had a car cleaned in these Covid times or that they would have a clean car waiting for us since we had a pre-paid reservation but NO, everything inside and outside was dirty and dusty with open bottles of water and trash all over the vehicle. We needed the vehicle and go on with our vacation so we had no choice but to keep the rental as it was. We didn’t feel safe driving it but it served its purpose. We called Hertz to try to exchange or replace the vehicle the day after we rented it and they gave me an incident # to take to a nearby Hertz store which we did but the manager told me they didn't have any vehicles available. So we had to keep the car in the condition it was and try to have a good vacation. Sometimes it is what it is but we definitely feel we lost our money with this rental and will never ever use this service or company again.Reviewed 1 Jun. 2021
