Therefore, it is no surprise to see long queues and crowds of people on the ferry. You can avoid this congestion when you rent a car. Additionally, a car rental gives you the flexibility of visiting top attractions like the Far Enough Farm and Centreville Amusement Park on your own time. Lastly, car rentals are cost-effective because, with an affordable car, you save the money you would have otherwise spent paying for cabs every time you need to explore the city.

Any child seats provided must be installed by the renter. Hertz also offers skierized vehicles for renters with skiing equipment. The company provides a ski rack that can hold up to 4 pairs of skis, an ice scraper, and all-season tires. You can request the SiriusXM radio if you'd like to enjoy some music during your trip. Renters with reduced mobility can request special devices like spinner knobs and hand controls. Add-ons attract a nominal fee. This is in addition to the rental charge.

Park your rental in the designated Hertz car rental space, then take the keys and contract to the counter. The terminal at the departure is a walking distance from the rental parking lot. If you are returning the car after hours, ensure you record the mileage, tank level, return date and time on the rental agreement before placing it in the drop box located in the return area.
  • You need to note that since this is an airport rental location, busier travel periods like weekends and popular tourist seasons like winter can be hectic. Another thing you need to know is that during winter, temperatures can become very cold accompanied by lots of snow. As a result, you'll spend more time to and from the airport.

I'm not sure if this is an opportunity for improvement for Hertz, or for Kayak/Priceline, but I was charged more than the advertised price and what was sent to me in my confirmation email I was charged considerably more when picking up the vehicle, 45% more in fact. That was a disappointing surprise. I won't be renting vehicles from Kayak in the future, I'd rather call the rental company directly and find out what the true price is. It's a bit more work, but saving 45% is worth it.Reviewed 6 Dec 2021
