My flight was delayed. And never picked up rental. Rent a wreck office and shuttles closed at 7pm. I think that is terrible at a major airport. ALSO WEBSITE GSVE THE IMPRESSION it was airport pickup not a shuttleReviewed 18 May 2026

Convenient pick-up on airport arrival. Company charges $199.99 a day to use your own auto insurance. Can not opt out. They call it an administration fee. Attempted to force me to buy a toll road package. Very hard sell of add one and it cost an extra $233.00 after quoted price on written prepaid reservation. Would not recommend this company for car rental. Car rental is unmanned and you leave the vehicle in a parking lot with the keys in the glove box and car unlocked. You then text them a picture of the parking space of the vehicle so an employee can find it at a later time.Reviewed 15 May 2026

Website indicates that counter is in airport; it is NOT. After finally being shuttled to rental counter, rep said that my “PD limits were not high enough”. ($300K required”. Seriously?!? Just another scam in an attempt to have you buy their insurance.) Cancelled order and had to wait for shuttle back to airport. Then had to find a new car rental on the fly. NEVER rent from Rent-A-Wreck!!Reviewed 15 May 2026

Rent-a-wreck IS A SCAM!!! They don't provide their local policies within the initial contracts. They say they send it in an email before the rental date, but the email I received provided a broken link to the policy. I was unable to read until I got to pick up the rental on a different page on the employee's phone. At this point, it was to late to cancel and ended up losing my initial required deposit. I wanted to use my own insurance, which they allowed me ti use, but they then force you to pay a $20/day admin fee for using your own insurance instead of using their $40/day insurance. They were also forcing me to pay a $10/day for the use of a toll transponder. I was still required to pay the tolls. I have my own toll transponder that is transferable but they said it wouldn't work. I walked away from the rental and went to their competitor which ended up being cheaper. This rental company IS A SCAM!!!Reviewed 27 Apr 2026

It was a waste of time trying to rent. The booking rental online was $147 for the ten day's. When arriving at the counter all the overpriced added fees drove the rental price to over $850. There was one fee for tires and brakes for $399. This has been one of the biggest switch and bait tactics I have ever encountered. I declined the rental and will discourage anyone in the future from renting through your service.Reviewed 12 Apr 2026

I want start by saying that this was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. I had a confirmed reservation at 9 AM at the Rent a Wreck location off airport in Denver. They tried to contact me by phone the previous day, but they didn’t leave any voicemail so I didn’t know it was them and I wasn’t able to answer the phone. Later that day, which is the night before my rental pick up, I called the number back and it said the voicemail box was full and no one would pick up. Then when I was waiting at the airport for my shuttle I was supposed to call the same number for a shuttle pick up. Same thing. No one answered and the voicemail box was full. I then got a separate ride to the Rent a wreck, location off airport and the doors were locked and no one was there. I had to go down the street to a different rental company and I spent $460 on that rental when it would have just been $160 through rent a wreck. I was getting confirmation emails saying my rental was confirmed even after these calls. However all of the pre check in email links were broken links and I couldn’t check in. When I dropped off my other rental I stopped by the rent a wreck location and they said they aren’t even open on Saturdays, which was the day of my scheduled pickup. I was stranded, alone and honestly a bit scared. I am requesting a full refund. How do I get my deposit refunded?Reviewed 1 Apr 2026

Kayak is as much to blame as rent a wreck. I used kayak, who used Expedia, who sent me to rent a reck who is actually York. The phone numbers on all my confirmations were either not in use or went nowhere. I will not use kayak again.Reviewed 27 Mar 2026

Do not have this place listed on your website anymore. They are liars and crooks. Your website promised $255.00 they charged us over $800.00 with unknown fees that were not listed when I booked. Please take this listing off your website.Reviewed 26 Mar 2026
