I was able to return the car to a different location from the place where I picked it up. Hertz ( the agents at the return location at Ft. Myers Airport ) were wonderful , real professional and I do appreciate all their assistance. My many thanks.

Cons:

The Herz office where we booked our car through Kayak did not have any cars available. They said that a "glitch" in the system was allowing cars to be booked through Kayak and other consolidators, even though there were no cars available, even at the time of booking. This was a terrible situation, which should never have occurred. Kayak needs to work with Herz to correct the problem. I'm not inclined to use Kayak ever again. We were unable to get a car at the last minute, and had to cancel our plans.

The car rental pick up was atrocious. There was at least 100 people in line ahead of me and took more than an hour to get into a car. That’s unacceptable. The car itself was fine. The drop off was extremely easy.

I signed for a rental quote of 105$, but ended up being charged $249 by Avis and they deny being able to honor my original quote as it was Budget. These companies are literally scamming folks and then saying it's the other companies problem.

vehicle was not full of gasoline. ordered a mid-size SUV and was given a 14 passenger van at a higher rate because they did not have a proper size SUV. there was no windshield water. windows were dirty all the way around.

People mover

I was charged the rental cost on making my reservation, Kayak had no record of this transaction or the Insurance I paid for so when I get to the counter to pick up the car I’m charged again for what I paid a week earlier for I showed the counter person the charges came out of my account but that didn’t matter I have been charged twice so my experience with fox rentals was not good.

Our car was dirty. A bag of popcorn in the door. Covered in scratches. 75,000 miles .Our bill showed $80 for a drop off charge. She said it would not be on the final bill. She told me we would have toll charges and if I did not get a pass for $12 there would be an extra $15 processing fee. We paid. No toll needed. Slow service. I was embarrassed when I showed my wife and friends the car. Our friends dropped us off and waited 30 minutes with my wife while I waited and did paperwork. I already paid! I never give a negative review
