Customer Service PoorCons:They charged me a smoking fine and we didn't smoke at all in the car. We'd had it on an island and the return person stated the sand in the console was ashes and the car smelled like smoke. We explained that our luggage was in the car and has that odor, but he ignored and we were late for our flight. Followup has been horrible with no response from the company.Reviewed 21 Sep. 2018

Ripped off by Thrifty, no help or compensation offPros:Nothing.Cons:I booked a rental car months ago, and when I arrived at the airport I was told that there were no cars left and I would have to call back the next day to make a new reservation. I had to take a 30 dollar cab home at 11:30 at night and then had to try and rent another car at the airport the next day which ended up costing me 40 dollars more than my previous rental. Customer service at the counter was no help and told me that was how it was and there was nothing they could do about it. Completely unacceptable. I will never rent from Hertz or Thrifty again and will make sure that no one I know does either.Reviewed 18 Oct. 2016

Paid more at pickup than what was promised online.Cons:Came to pick up my car and said that my car wasn’t ready for pickup yet and that I would need to upgrade to get a car at that moment. I said it’s not my fault that there isn’t a car available for me right now and that I shouldn’t have to pay the upgrade fee. No customer service whatsoever and ended up paying double of what I thought I was going to be paying...never again.Reviewed 4 Sep. 2018

Cons:I got charged for Insurance even though I didn't authorize it. I have been renting cars for 30 years and this is the first time I have been charged for this. I called in the middle of the week to the Thrifty 1-800 number and was told they couldn't fix this over the phone but I would have to go back to where I rented it to get this taken off. This was way too far for me to go. I will go elsewhere next time I need a rental.Reviewed 10 Jul. 2017
