I was surprised when I returned the vehicle and asked for a quote for my next trip, the price was higher than the final bill I had just received. Even though the next trip was shorter and not as many days.9.6 Wonderful

The rental agents were very professional and polite. But it was the ones who picked me up and dropped me off who really impressed me. Super friendly, amiable and interesting! Car was good, clean and relatively comfortable. Got great MPG.Cons:
"Maintenance reqd" light came on while driving through dense fog in the mountains. Was not near a place where I could pull off at the time, so was a little worrisome until I was able to get somewhere that I was able to establish that it was apparently nothing more than scheduled upcoming service.8.8 Very Good

Comfort, performance and gas mileage of the car I rented. Employees were friendly, professional, and got me in and out quickly and efficiently.Cons:
"maintenance required" light came on while driving through the Ozarks. Sort of freaked me out until I managed to pull over and look up what it meant in the manual. Turned out to be no big deal, but sort of disconcerting when it happens while driving through heavy fog in the mountains.Hertz

Everything else. Went through 3 different cars because of issues, that were issues hertz missed. When I called to try to get the new cars I was sent 30-40 minutes away and the correct cars were not available when I showed up. Both road side service and customer service would not call me back. This location then tried to say it was my fault because I called road side service and customer service general number (I was 10 hours away, and they were closed at the time) instead of calling them.5.2 Fair

The vehicle did not have a back-up cam. We had to replace a fuze. The CD player did not work well. It skipped easily. The gas refill price is crazy. Of course we filled up before we dropped off the car.8.0 Very Good

We reserved an economy car to fit 5 people and were upgraded to a fancy car (lower fuel economy) that only fit 4. To be fair, it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, but we wanted what we had reserved. It was very complicated having 5 people with luggage with a car that fit only 4. Had to rely on local family's car to double up which we had wanted to avoid.3.6 Poor

Although different from the email confirmation, the car we received was perfect for our road trip. It was clean and comfortable.Cons:
The customer service rep at the counter at the Clayton location, Josh, made what should have been an easy transaction horribly uncomfortable, confusing and frustrating. There were additional charges added that I was unaware of until Josh rudely made them known. Thank goodness he wasn’t there when we dropped the vehicle off and we had a much better drop off experience.Budget

Our minivan was given away, they gave us an suv that was too small for my family, it had no gas, was not cleaned and smelled like smoke. Front desk was no help.2.0 Poor

Could have been better by actually having a car for me. Avis ran me around saying I didn’t pass a soft credit check. I got my bank on the phone because there is no way I wouldn’t pass. Avis could not tell me why or what they were checking for. I tried to rebook-they had NO CARS IN THE AREA2.0 Poor

There was no attendant for 25 minutes at this location. They also denied renting a vehicle to me after I had called to make sure they accept a debit card. Worse experience.
