Cons: The vehicle had a permanent smell of marajuana and alcohol, as well as damage on the exterior marked with white "x's". when we attempted to address it with the front counter as well as by calling budget, we were told to speak with the customer service rep upon drop-off. when we got to drop off, they were so backed up that the rep said there was nothing they could do and to call customer service at budget.

Pros: I picked it up with less than 3/4 tank, and returned it with over 3/4 tank. You guys claimed I returned it empty and made me do the leg work on proving that. You sent me a receipt but then asked me to send it back to you as proof.Cons: Stop your dishonest practices. You know there is a percentage of customers who won’t even pursue it, resulting in additional revenue for Hertz. But this comes at the expense of customers that do mind getting ripped off. I will not use Hertz again and will spread the word to my family and friends.

Seems that the Logistics person failed to schedule adequate vehicles for the number of reserved clients.Cons: The mid size SUV vehicle that I rented was not ready when I arrived, given a small economy car (not impressed). Later that day went back to pick up reserved mid size SUV and still not ready, Received full size gas guzzling GMC, not clean, reeked of cigarette smoke, really needed change of cabin filter. Used 2 boxes of Baking Soda inside vehicle to mitigate foul smell. I (and my company) will not use Hertz again.

When I asked if they could come close to the rate it would have doubled. I had to take a $22 Uber to get the off site location. Of course I had missed that this was off site rental, but I would think Kayak could have highlighted that fact when reserving since my search was for an airport rental. This way the customer agrees to and it calls attention to it.

Cons: Other locations do not hand you keys to a specific car and that is what you get. Other locations say the keys are in it choose one from row (what ever row it is). I can select the car I want within what my rental was for. I was also told to write down my mileage so I could tell the check in person. Normally there is someone there to take the car from me and wish me a good day. They review the mileage themselves.

Pros: I arrived before the rental center opened to pick up my vehicle, which was reserved several days ahead of time. I was to pick up at the 9 am opening. I was told by the counter person my vehicle was not there yet, and I would need to wait. She was very nice, to be clear. Then, after waiting for 20 minutes, I was told by the same woman that my car (a special 12-passenger van needed that day for a family trip) could not be found, and no one at any Avis ops center could help, and/or did not return her calls or texts. I continued to wait while she made calls as line volume permitted. She finally learned that the previous renter had not returned the vehicle and I would have to wait until at least 11. I asked for a substitution and got little help, so I walked down the street to Enterprise and they had the vehicle I was looking for, with a price match. After a 90 minute wait that meant missing other pickup appointments and delaying my family’s trip for nearly two hours, I was on my way - with a van from a competitor. Thanks for nothing, Avis. I will be going down the street to Enterprise from now on.Cons: Pretty much everything.

Pros: A complete joke, I was unable to get my vehicle because I was LIED TO over the phone. I verified over the phone that I would be able to pick up the bricks despite being under 25, where I was reassured I could still get it due to waived rules because of covid. Because of this I did not get my vehicle and was late for the next bout of traveling for my vacation. Absolutely no remorse from employees at store as well. After an hour was already down 1/4 tank. Played with the buttons and found instead of 30mpg the other would have gotten, I was getting 17mpg. I had 700 miles to drive. Called National and was told to go to nearest airport to exchange. Filled up gas outside of airport (1/2 hour out of way) and called to ask where to park to transfer items to new car. National desk rep said they would not exchange. Would end rental and rent me a new car. I would have to pay for BOTH! After a full on rant by me, the rep finally agreed to give me a tank of gas. Never National again!!
