MIXED RESULTS - THE GOOD THE BAD THE UGLYPros:UPON RETURN, DESK PERSON AND DRIVER WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING WHEN I WAS RUNNING LATE FOR MY FLIGHT.Cons:PICK UP LOCATION FOR DOLLAR IS NOT WHERE ALL OTHER CAR RENTALS PICK UP. NO SIGNAGE FOR DOLLAR. WHEN ASKING FOR DOLLAR PICK UP LOCATION AT AIRPORT GOT WRONG ANSWER(S). DRIVER WAS SYMPATHETIC, SAID HE HAS REPORTED PICK UP ISSUES TO MANAGEMENT MANY TIMES. DESK STAFF DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE MY COMMENT. CAR WAS DIRTY (FRONT OF CAR HAD BUG STAINS AND DIRT) HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING LOCATION ON GOOGLE FOR RETURN BECAUSE THE PAPERWORK SAID ST LOUS, BUT YOUR LOCATION IS IN SAINT ANN!!!!! OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE SUCKED LATER WHEN I MENTIONED THE PICK UP PROBLEM TO ANOTHER TRAVELER, THEY SAID THEY DON'T USE DOLLAR ANY MORE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUES (AMONG OTHERS?)Reviewed 12 Jul. 2016

Pros:Nothing. Rental company was closed at the time of my arrival. Waited almost 40 minutes for shuttle before asking different shuttle driver about it who informed me they were closed. Website online said they should still be open but no one answered at desk when I called. Had to go to different company.Reviewed 3 Jul. 2020

I hate counter up-selling.Pros:Great price. Nice people. Car was fine. I like this place because it's a bit less money and the cars have always been perfect.Cons:It seems it should be fast to swipe my card, check my license, and hand me keys, but there is always a bunch of working with the computer, checking, attempted up-sell, and discussion. The time wasted picking up the car sucks. This isn't particular to Dollar. They all do it. Also, I payed for kayak insurance, and apparently that is their favorite up-sell, so we had some transparently false discussion about whether your insurance or theirs really covered everything. More time wasted. Not nearly as bad as Avis, thankfully.Reviewed 18 Aug. 2016

Pros:Great car; clean, etc., nothing wrong thereCons:Nobody likes surprises. When I was picking up the car the salesman at the desk said he could upgrade me to a full-size for $5 more, but he phrased it in terms of, "instead of your total being $74 it will be $79." I said yes and agreed to the upgrade, but when I returned the car the upgrade turned out in fact, to be $20. I was disappointed, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that I misunderstood when I agreed to pay the upcharge. When I left the building I asked my colleague, who was there when the car was rented, but not when it was returned, how much he remembered the desk person saying was the upgrade and he recalled it was, "only $4 or $5," which made me think I did hear him right the first time. It's for sure disappointing; I can't think of a reason why someone would compromise their integrity to earn a marginal $15 for a rental car company. -Adam (254) 715-3108Reviewed 25 Oct. 2018

Pros:The drop off was easy and the staff was very friendly, but the charges were more than I expected. We returned the car at 1:55 pm, when it needed to be back by 2:00 pm. However, when we rented the vehicle, the time was 1:5---, not sure as it wasn't indicated, but we were charged for an extra hour. That was pretty picky for perhaps a minute or two. I don't know if it was the agent or it is a company policy.Cons:Received the quote and when we met to pick up the rental, she said we would be charged an extra $10.00 per day, because I had booked it on my credit card so I had to be the driver, but I wanted my husband to be the driver. She put him on as an additional driver, and I said to the agent, let's just change it so he is the driver, but she wouldn't do it. She asked us to check the car for any marks or scratches, but said there probably weren't any, so she removed the sheet and then asked us to mark on the duplicate copy if we noticed anything, which we did. When we returned the vehicle, a different agent asked us why it was not marked on the original copy, and I explained, so she accepted that. Better make sure that the person who is the driver, has the car booked on their credit card. I don't know if this is company policy, or if we encountered a contrary and not understanding or helpful agent. In all of the times we have rented vehicles, I have never had this problem!Reviewed 22 Oct. 2019
