I checked in on the Hertz app. I could select a car on the app. Went to 3 different lines to find a person with access to select a car. Had to provide DL and Credit Card again even though I had already uploaded in the app. Went out to get my car. 4th line. They changed me to another car to speed up my wait. Went to the gate to get out. 5th line. My reservation was cancelled given I was not assigned the different car in their system. Turned away from gate as a result. Had to go back inside to get a new reservation. 6th line. Picked up the same car and waited in line at the gate a second time to leave. 7th line. I promise I am not over exaggerating my experience. Hertz messaged me that they didn’t have my car, which I had confirmed and checked in for, and after that notification they made me stand in line 25 minutes at their desk to be told I couldn’t get any refund. I looked for a way to contact Kayak for a refund, and there was no contact info anywhere on Kayak’s web site. So never again, Hertz and Kayak.Reviewed 22 May 2024

There wasn’t anyone at the desk when I returned the vehicle, which is understandable considering ILM is a small airport and I arrived at 5am. But when I called later that day to ask about if they had processed the car back in the system and what the final price would be, the person on the phone was almost clueless and offered very little help. Only telling me that it’s a “corporate rental” and they don’t know anything regarding final costs. Super unsatisfactory and ambiguous answer.Reviewed 18 May 2024

Ron, the person who took me to my car was very personable. I was given an Avis Car & had to return for a Hertz car. That was acceptable and the lady who checked me out of the garage said she'd give me a fuel voucher for my inconvenience & to return the car as close to empty as possible. I didn't have any notation on my slip so I returned it full as I didn't want to pay $10+/gallon to fill it up.Reviewed 7 Mar 2024
