This rental was good value for money. Rental was an SUV and pick up and drop off was different locations, which can be costly. The staff at both locations were friendly.

Pros:

Enterprise is consistently great on service, easy rental experience, and competitively priced.

Cons:

My compact / economy car (35K miles) had a smoker previously and although the car was cleaned, when the car was parked in the sun, the smoke odors came through. There were burn marks on the seats. I hope Enterprise will not re-rent smoking cars as this is really unpleasant but also a safety hazard.

Cons:

The car smelled very strongly of marijuana and even after they scent bombed it (which took forever and I was in a rush), it still smelled. They did not have another car for me, so I had to take it.

The booking you gave me was not in the airport and the pickup time approved and suggested by your booking service was when the Hertz location was closed so I was unable to pick up the reserved vehicle. The entire reason for booking in advance is to ensure I can trust I have a vehicle when I arrive. All of that was lost completely. I lack words to express my disappointment

long wait to PU car, did not have car reserved, forced me to take EV which was unsuitable for the rural areas I was going to, did not have promised shuttle to the airport

The employees at this location were amazing!!! There was a shortage of cars, no fault of their own, but they worked so hard to get us on the road and while we were waiting they were amazing!! Such a kind group!

Everything about the pick up was a hot mess. It was a small side business of a car repair shop on the south side of Boston. There seemed to be one woman who was in charge taking calls and handling customers who were there to pick up cars. We had to wait for well over 1/2 hour to be helped. At one point there were 6 of us in a chaotic “office” about the size of a large closet. When we finally got our car it seemed to have been pretty much just sprayed with air freshener and that’s it. They were careful about taking pics of all damage/marks on the car. The young guy was polite—no issues. But after we drove away we noticed how filthy the windshield was including many circles from people mounting phone holders. Also the back right tire was low—we had to add air. And there was an alert on the dashboard screen that read “maintenance—oil and filter”. ??? The car ran fine and was comfortable but for almost $1000 it was an unacceptable experience.

Terrible! I’ll never rent with Hertz again and will NEVER book through Kayak. Car was dirty, one window broke, took 2 hours to check out. Took 45 minutes to drop off. Hertz customer service is basically non-existent and Kayak’s customer service is literally non-existent. It felt like a misinformation scam as Kayak booked us at on off-site location but in a “sneaky” way that made us believe it was at BOS airport. Do NOT use Kayak or Hertz. They should be ashamed at their lack of service.
