Pros: Courtesy of staff. Close location to town. Very quiet at night to sleep

Excellent9.4
Pros: The hotel was located close to Little Italy, Downtown and the bay. There were free rides offered by the city that would take you anywhere downtown for free Fri, Sat and Sun. There were also pedicabs for a fee $15-25 per person. The hotel itself was clean and easy to get to. The room was unique is size, but was not small. The hotel rooms are not your typical style since the building is older. They appear to be continuing to update and improve the hotel. There was also an amazing farmers market that happens every Saturday near the hotel. Free breakfast was also good, but limited in choices.
Cons: The parking situation wasn't ideal for larger vehicles. There were still renovations being completed while the hotel was open. The free breakfast needed a couple of more options.

Pros: Right around the corner from little Italy. Great food there. Short walk to the waterfront. Everything was a short drive away. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was just enough and presented nicely. Nice little clean BOUTIQUE hotel. It's right in the name. So it is not like a typical chain hotel. We would definitely stay again!

Pros: Very clean and friendly
Cons: Bed and pillows a little hard. A/C on the loud side.

Excellent9.1
Pros: This is an excellent place to stay for those who are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. The rooms are small, but efficiently laid out and clean. Everything you need is availalble, and the wifi is adequate. The complimentary breakfast is very good and the coffee is excellent. No need for a Starbucks run in the morning. The staff is friendly and someone is always available. This hotel is not spacious, from the lobby to the rooms, everything is compact, so if you were planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel, or you equate space with comfort, this might not be the place for you. If your looking for a clean and modern place to stay that's quiet and well located, you can't find a better hotel, especially for the price.
Cons: Parking would be difficult if you had a car. I did not have a car so it wasn't an issue. There is a construction project next door (new development), so if you were facing it, it might be loud. It never bothered me and I'm a light sleeper, but I did hear someone else mention it woke them up at 7am because their room was right next to it.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Very nice neighborhood, close to everything and convenient. Little Italy is a great home base in San Diego. Was here for a conference.
Cons: Windows don't open, and air conditioner is a little old.

Pros: Little Italy is such a beautiful location. Plenty of restaurants which my boyfriend and I loved. The hotel has a comfortable atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were well kept and great for taking a break from being out and about. I think this is a great spot for weekend getaways. There was small pastries, granola, yogurt, fruit and drinks in the morning which was nice. It wasn't enough to get me full but enough to hold me over until my next meal. Overall it was a cozy and relaxing place to stay for a weekend getaway.
Cons: There was parking spots for the hotel but unfortunately they were all full. Not too big of a deal. I just had to leave my car in the next street over in public parking. Paid $12 for 24hours. Parking can be hard to find in this location because it is a hot spot. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Pros: Very clean and modern, quiet, excellent breakfast with lots of fresh fruit (included kiwis and berries!), good granola, high quality pastries, great location, super fast internet allowed me to upload four gigabytes of data to my office in a few hours, attentive staff, and price couldn't be beat. Before leaving I booked my honeymoon here for next April and they gave me a significantly better rate than even the major online searches could provide. I travel all over the country for work as a photographer about 50 nights/year and this is one of the best deals I've come across.
Cons: Parking difficult to find on the street and the parking lot across the street is $32 for 24 hours! Window air conditioner a bit noisy. There was no table in the room. It would have been nice to have even a little table for working on a laptop or eating the delicious breakfast.

Pros: Close to Little Italy. Cute little quiet rooms with refrigerators & ours had a view of the ocean in the distance, 3rd floor. Walking distance to restaurants & nice neighborhood. Less than $100 and close to many things.
Cons: Delt with meters for limited parking but hotel had parking for $20. Also, one towel was dirty hung up and continental breakfast was small.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful. Facility clean. Room cramped. Shower drain slow, shower pan filled with water while showing. Window air-conditioner effective but loud. Breakfast good but too few tables during morning rush.
Cons: Staff friendly and helpful. Facility clean. Room cramped. Shower drain slow, shower pan filled with water while showing. Window air-conditioner effective but loud. Breakfast good but too few tables during morning rush.
Excellent9.7
Pros: The breakfast with the fruit salad was refreshing and the croissants yummy! Access to a printer, a computer and internet. Staff (Guy at The front desk) was very nice and helpful. He deserves a raise!
Cons: No free parking even though I found a street parking. No hairdryer in the room, when I got the room it was hot in the room. In the morning I heard the people working on the building next door.
Okay5.7
Pros: the television did not work. it did not had sign. There was a constant noise coming from the wall of my room - a snapp. Everything else was all right. I would come back there in despite this things.
Excellent8.3
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the location was excellent, the room and bed were comfortable.
Cons: The room had an odd odor when we first went in, which dissipated after opening the window. And someone had left the cleaning brush wedged at the bottom of the toilet, which I had to fish out.
Excellent8.0
Pros: -The room was cute and small -The bed was comfy -Bathroom area had bright light to do makeup properly -Breakfast was decent -Toiletries and amenities provided, fridge and microwave in the room made it easy to keep leftovers -Hairdryer (call the front desk) -Great neighborhood, close to harbor (10 minute walk), I felt safe as a single woman traveling alone, 5 minute drive/20 minute walk to downtown
Cons: -There was construction going on directly outside my window... I opened my window and there was literally a man on scaffolding looking back at me. I know that is short term-- but was quite alarming when it happened!
Okay5.7
Pros: Friendly staff, good location for downtown SD access
Cons: Hotel is an old building, and it shows its age. Rooms are tiny, floors are uneven, pipes are exposed, walls are dented and dirty. TV only has a few channels and the remote only half worked (had to turn it on manually). Mattresses are rock hard. For over $100/night, this is mediocre.
Okay5.3
Pros: location was nice, close to Little Italy
Cons: NO parking - have to find it on the street or park in a day lot blocks away
Excellent9.4
Pros: The location is amazing, the staff are beyond amazing. My only gripe with the place was the cleanliness around the windows which appeared to have black mold. This place is perfect if you don't mind a small room.
Good6.6
Pros: The location was excellent and was walking distance to nice restaurants and stores in the Little Italy area.
Cons: The room that we stayed in (a Double) was VERY small, with cement floors, so I found the online pictures to be deceiving. We also found hair on the bed sheets, which they replaced for us.
Excellent9.6
Pros: A very nice hotel for a great price. Walking distance to convention center. Everything you need, plus free breakfast, wifi and complementary ride on Super Shuttle from airport.
Cons: A family would need a bigger room because the basic one is quite small. No gym, but San Diego has beautiful weather for outside exercise.
Excellent8.8
Pros: I liked the fact that everywhere I needed to go was within walking distance from the hotel.
Cons: I liked the continental breakfast because the food was good the fruits were fresh and there was something for everyone into family to enjoy. My husband said the coffee was on point, just the way he liked it. Thanks to the Urban Boutique Hotel staff for making our stay an enjoyable one. See ya soon:)
Excellent8.6
Pros: Location cleanliness dog friendly close to gaslamp 1 mile and little Italy is right behind you.
Cons: No pool or jacuzzi not a great view and a church across the street sounds it's bells almost every hour
Excellent8.2
Pros: Everything was great. Good service, very clean and awesome location for the price
Cons: The only thing was the beds were a little uncomfortable and the beds weren't a queen more like a double or a full.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Nice area. Not too touristy. I had one of the more spacious rooms and it was the perfect size. Very nice staff.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Wonderful location, walking distance a many attractions and dining; easy stroll to trolley. Great spot to experience an amazing Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. Easy to find no cost parking. Very friendly staff. Quiet.
Cons: Not one thing!
Excellent8.8
Pros: This is a great hotel, in a great area (Little Italy), with amazing yummy breakfast and very helpful staff. The rooms are very clean, with microwave and a fridge. The value for the money is amazing.
Cons: Our room was very small, and you couldn't open the window (the AC wasn't enough) and it was a little suffocating.
Good7.7
Pros: I liked how friendly and helpful the staff was! Always willing to help & answer any questions, & attentive! Always asked if I was ok or if we needed housekeeping!
Cons: The bathroom wasn’t as clean as we wished & definitely needs fixing, falling apart. Also, the room had a weird smell to it, seemed like it was the covers on the bed.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoy the morning coffee and pastry. Lovely modern rooms.
Cons: It was nice to have parking at the hotel but it was fairly expensive. The gym was also nice to have but very small no more than three people could use it at a time.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Location, location, location! Situated in the heart of Little Italy, easy walk to many restaurants and sights. 10 minute walk to downtown.
Cons: Small room. Housekeeping was still cleaning my room when I checked in and reception gave me my room card.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Great location in Little Italy, easy to walk to any “to go” place in San Diego. They offer parking (at $30 p/night) which can be handy in this area as parking can be hard to find.
Cons: Room cleaning could have been better. Also be aware that due to the hotel location you will get a lot of noise from the outside during the weekend, Little Italy at night is party central.
Excellent9.1
Excellent8.3
Pros: The staff was accommodating and very friendly. The location was perfect in Little Italy and walking distance to many downtown San Diego attractions. The rooms were nicely updated and the balcony overlooking the city was amazing.
Cons: The beds were a little hard for my taste. The room was hot and we were unable to control the air conditioning. We had to pay an extra $100 for a double queen. And it's $15 a day for parking which isn't stated at time of booking either
Excellent8.5
Pros: Charming hotel in the heart of Little Italy. Location is perfect for those wanting to explore the city and be close to Gaslamp. The staff was nice and the hotel had a lot of charm. Really clean as well! Would definitely stay again (but maybe would request a room with double beds just to give us a little extra space...)
Cons: Rooms are really small. Parking wasn't available our first night which I wasn't expecting. Once we did get a spot in the lot, all the spaces were really tight/hard to park in.
Excellent9.7
Pros: The location was great! Everything in Little Italy was walkable. Wanna go further? The trolley transit system was about two blocks away. Also, they have an underground garage structure available at $20 per night. The garage was fully protected so there's no worry about your vehicle.
Cons: My 8 month old son decided to poop in our bed around midnight while I was trying to change his diaper (dark lighting and half asleep). We stripped the sheets off, and then found out that the hotel didn't have any spare bedsheets because laundry didn't come back from the cleaner until Tuesday... It was Monday night. So, don't change diapers in the bed at midnight...?
Excellent8.0
Pros: Perfect Location. Clean. Friendly service
Cons: No hot water in the morning one day but they fixed it by the afternon

Pros: The Hotel Vyvant is a charming little boutique hotel very near to Little Italy. My stay was one night only. The young women at the desk when I arrived was friendly, welcoming, and professional. There was a bit of highway noise but I am reasonably sound sleeper and I have no problems with it.
Cons: Even though I'm pretty attentive to detail I somehow managed to miss that I would have a shared bathroom. The room rate of $105 was a good bargain with a bathroom, but without I would not have paid $60 for my room. I am not a "hotel person" and have few requirements, but a bathroom is one of them. My other gripe is that I was there for a business meeting and needed to be on my way before the complimentary breakfast was served starting at 8am That is simply too late for many guests. So for $105 I got a very small bedroom with a small TV and a sitting chair. There was no desk to work, and a shared bathroom and no breakfast.

Pros: Friendly staff, nicely appointed space, comfortable rooms, welcoming patio area to enjoy the weather, amazing location in Little Italy and close to Balboa park. Small neighborhood park two blocks away where my daughter played soccer everyday.

Pros: Ok first we arrived at the hotel and parked right in front no problem. We went to check in and we're greater by a beautiful very friendly dark haired gal who checked us in and gave us instructions. She then escorted us to our room ! Showed us how the AC works and told us about breakfast. Our room was SO cute!! Actually this whole hotel was very cute I loved the vibe and decor. Everything was so so clean to! We had to share a bathroom which was no problem at all. One of the things I really loved about this place was that it did not feel like a hotel at all, in fact it felt like I was staying at a friends house or a bandb. It was excellant. I was already happy and then then next morning when my husband went to get breakfast and bring it back into the room I was SO impressed with it! Delicious orange juice, chobani yogurt and macadamia nut granola, assorted pastries and my favorite banana bread! I have never had a breakfast that delicious and fresh! Overall, location, staff, cleanliness, and vibe get a total 10 stars in my book!! ThE people were ALL so friendly! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone !
Okay4.8
Cons: No sound-proofing and on a very busy street and planes flying over every morning...
Excellent8.5
Pros: The staff is really friendly. The room was small, especially if you have a lot of luggage, but certainly manageable. Good value for the price. Like being in the Little Italy section of San Diego.
Cons: My room was facing Grape Street which is unfortunately very, very LOUD. Even through the double paned windows. I'm not sure there's a cheap solution. I didn't ask for earplugs at the desk, but maybe for the louder rooms, a pair or two could be situated in the bathroom.
Excellent10.0
Pros: My husband and I loved the Old World feel and how very friendly the staff is! We felt very welcomed and the breakfast was fantastic! We especially like how clean Hotel Vyvant is... This is not overlooked like it is at other hotels we've stayed at. Thanks to John and his staff, our stay in San Diego was super comfortable. This is one boutique hotel that knows how to treat people! We will definitely be back.
Cons: We had to leave :(
Excellent10.0
Pros: The staff at Hotel Vyvant were fantastic! They gave wonderful recommendations and were very accomodating. The hotel itself is very cute, clean and quaint. There are flatscreen teleisions in the room along with very nice (and new!) bathrobes. The location is within walking distance of Little Italy. There are some wonderful resturaunts there and a FABULOUS and fun wine bar (M Winehouse) that I highly recommend as well.
Excellent8.0
Pros: The room is nice and clean, decent view.
Cons: There were no towels in my room or the shared bathroom. Front desk has certain operating hours so no one to help. I had to leave for business right when front desk came in for the day. Drying with old clothes was no bueno.
"Located in Little Italy, this hotel is within 1 mi (2 km) of Balboa Park, USS Midway Museum and San Diego Convention Center. San Diego Zoo and Hotel Circle are also within 3 mi (5 km). County Center - Little Italy Station is 7 minutes by foot and Civic Center Station is 10 minutes. "

Cons: I was confused by the website and selected a prepaid rate. As soon as confirmation emailed arrived and I realized my mistake, I called on the phone to change the reservation to a refundable rate. Even though it was only ten minutes after the reservation for a stay a couple of months in the future, they said it was impossible. They kept reading me the rules about what nonrefundable means! Hilton said it was the hotel policy and they could not do anything about it. After my stay, the hotel's director of operations wrote to say that it was Hilton policy and the hotel could not do anything.

Pros: If anything location
Cons: The room was a sham! The "two story" suite is just two rooms on top of each other with a super steep, small spiral staircase up and down. The "jet tub" was a regular size tub with two small jets that hardly worked. The curtains where torn and stapled together! Definitely not the Hilton quality I'm use to.
Good7.6
Pros: It was a great price for the location, near Little Italy and just a mile walk to Gaslamp. The room was clean and well done. It was easy to find the hotel and to park. The area around it isn't too bad, there weren't a lot of homeless people hanging out outside the hotel.
Cons: The pool is smaller than I expected. The plumbing in the bathrooms is noisy, when someone in another room flushes a toilet it caused our toilet to make noises.
Good6.5
Pros: We needed to switch hotel rooms and they were very accommodating. Didn't seem too apathetic about it though. Thus the friendly service was a bit lacking. Everything was close for walking which made it really nice. Seemed a bit pricy for being a bit off the beaten path though. It was a good stay all in all.
Cons: The staff could have been more friendly. Just didn't get a great vibe from most of them. Also the need to switch rooms was the plumbing.... It made sounds all evening. Gurgling bath and the toilet would run all day and night.

Pros: Location
Cons: I made my reservation at 11:59pm. I selected a same evening check in. When i ARRIVED to the hotel, I was told that my check in was not until 3pm. Was shocked- hotel was sold out! Called the next day, explained my error & issue- was explained the non-refund policy, even after your kind attendant put me on hold to ask a manager. Big disappointment. Wasted $130.00! Not happy & not certain i will use your service again unless this could be gracefully addressed. At least a partial refund would've been a kind gesture!

Cons: Cheap feel. Not worth the cost
Okay4.3
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Parking is $22, staff are poorly trained, rooms are small, made reservations and were given a room subpar AND still charged for the more expensive room that we were not given. What really bothered me was the person checking us in did not even tell us they were out of rooms. We booked a room with a balcony and upon checking in, they made us wait 20 minutes while they constantly answered other peoples calls and frantically telling us to hold on. After finally being given our room, we walked in to find a tiny room with no balcony. When we called the front desk, their response, "Yea, we are out of balcony rooms." ...Were they hoping we would just check in and not notice? They could have given us a heads up and try to accommodate us. Instead they acted as if everything was normal to try to get our money without providing us with what we were guaranteed. I bet if we did not complain, they would have never even try to switch our rooms the day after. What's worse is upon check out. They tried to charge us for an extra day of valet parking when we clearly stated to them the night before that we had found street parking and would no longer need valet. Horrible stay.

Pros: We loved the location, the view, and the room...very clean and spacious! We ate at the restaurant "The Glass Door" for dinner and sat with the prettiest view at sunset.
Cons: The only complaint we would have would be the elevator; it takes awhile and has no indication when it arrives. Other than that, everything was great!
Okay5.0
Pros: The location was the only positive to this visit.
Cons: The price was a 3-4 star rate for a 1-2 star roach motel style result. Staff terrible, facilities misleading and run down, price of room and parking poor. Shouldn't charge for parking. Room rates should mirror closer to $60 a night, not $160. Rack was $160, I paid $110 via 3rd party booking and still feel I overpaid.

Pros: Location in Little Italy, roof top restaurant and bar, good breakfast included in our rate
Cons: Our room was dark and cramped, plumbing fixtures very dysfunctional. Parking expensive

Pros: the strategic location is good
Cons: when Im checking in they give me a room number and I enter to the open room that not ready yet the blanket is still hanging on the chair. the room have no enough space for Queen size bed. The male front desk is so sarcastic and mean he need to be train to learn more about hospitality. The breakfast is frozen waffles, bread and coffee that no aroma or even taste like coffee because of 3 x filtered . What kind breakfast they have? no scramble eggs, no sausage. This Inn should be remove from adds

Pros: No frills but great location! Close to airport, little italy, USS Midway, etc.
Excellent8.0
Pros: the location was perfect for us. we enjoyed the free parking the people working the front desk were very helpful. we enjoyed the closeness to little Italy, the wharf is right down the block.
Cons: the room was clean, bed pretty comfortable. the only thing i wasn't expecting was the spareness of the room. it was a bed tv and bathroom. no more. that being said, we didn't spend too much time in the room, we were out enjoying san diego, so for us, it was fine.

Cons: Low water pressure, my bathroom door had patched up holes in it.

Pros: This place is in town but on the fringe. You can walk everywhere in Little Italy and possibly down to the Gas Lamp. It's a funky older building but it doesn't really matter if you're just sleeping.
Cons: Would have liked a little more water in my shower...
Mediocre3.3
Pros: The location was good. Little Italy was amazing
Cons: The room had a smell, there was no plug for the bathtub, and the front desk staff was not very friendly.
Okay4.0
Cons: This is not a place I will be returning to. The location is central and close to food and bars, however, the rooms need to be 100% upgraded/remodeled. The counter in the bathroom was literally falling apart, every piece of furniture should be replaced. This location has the potential to make a lot of money if it was just cosmeticly redone.
"Located in Little Italy, this hostel is within a 15-minute walk of San Diego Bay, Balboa Park and Waterfront Park. B Street Cruise Ship Terminal and Port of San Diego are also within 1 mile (2 km). County Center - Little Italy Station is 9 minutes by foot and America Plaza Trolley Station is 14 minutes. "

Cons: I only wanted to use the shower after a morning at the beach. I was getting ready for a meeting later. I could not find anyone to check in with, so I went to find the bathroom. The shower had a urinal in it that was filled will pee! The sink had a tampon floating in it. I left and didn't use or touch anything.
