San Diego hotels in Mission Bay

Cons: We arrived at the room and the towels were dirty- used.

Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable. Nothing great about the room that made it any better than a Motel 6. The price was steep for what we got. The one night we went to the hot tub it had way too much chlorine in it. When we kicked the jets on it was burning our eyes. Both the AC and the fridge were extremely loud. I had to leave the AC off and unplug the fridge to fall asleep. A lot of extra fees even after booking a total cost package. Those fees were over $100 in"resort fees" and then parking fees on top if that. All in all, I would rather have stayed elsewhere considering what we did on the trip.

Cons: Horrible service. Not clean. Like a chuck-e-cheese version of a resort. No joke. Disappointing.

Cons: The bed/pillows were a bit uncomfortable.

Cons: They aren’t cleaning rooms, so you run out of towels, cups, coffee... everything. They also are not wiping down lawn chairs and the tables next to the lawn chairs frequently enough, if at all. I never saw anyone wipe one down... which is normally ok, but with covid should absolutely not be the case.

Cons: There could have been more restaurants open.

Cons: For the room we got, it seemed a little overpriced. We also were charged $35/night for parking on top of the $27/night resort fee which was a bit much. The executive suite we stayed in seemed like it was built in the late 80's or 90's, and was just refurnished to look new. The bed squeaked and didn't seem sturdy. Even the little details were overlooked. The cord hangers for the sattelite/cable cord were black and stuck out like a sore thumb against the white moulding. One (and possibly more) of the kitchen chairs had a sizable burn hole in it.

Cons: Because we did not book directly with resort, we were charged $35/day parking and $27/day passport fees. Really eats into alleged savings, and charges not included in electronic booking detail or check-in description of charges. Dinner at Caveman Pizza first night was an eye-opener. Dishes piled all over any empty tables; forgot our order even though we checked in twice while waiting with 2 hungry teenagers. In interim, son used bathroom which was so gross he refused to even think about eating at resort the rest of the visit; wish I could say he has high cleanliness standards, but he doesn't, and it must have been absolutely horrible for him to even notice. Said it looked like the workers responsible just didn't give a damn -- similar to table bussing situation, shared with Barefoot. Room was not that clean: lots of dust on surfaces, floors. Water pressure on low side for shower; with harder water, need longer to lather and rinse -- not so great for drought. Neighbors smoked on outside lanai of adjacent unit which kept smoke out of their unit, and blowing into ours. Detracts from enjoyment of all. With savvy travel consumers watching Hotel Confidential, etc, hotels need to step it up on their cleanliness and maintenance routines and food service, and staff training.

Cons: Beds could be better. Little hard but not terrible. $29 resort fee and a $35 parking fee. To much with the fees

Cons: The room was dirty and seemed like it wasn't touched in weeks. As soon as we sat on the beds large clouds of dust escaped from underneath and gave my sister an asthma attack. The bath tub was peeled and needs resurfacing. The heater was broken and made a loud noise throughout the night.

Cons: Not private at all. Weddings, party's are going on at the beach, kind of makes it feel very uncomfortable being there while other parties are going on.

Cons: For $300 a night the rooms should be updated. The bed was of low quality and the TV did not swivel to face the bed. The bathroom was old and needed to be redone. The air conditioner sounded like it was on its last leg.

Cons: Only reason I gave a few 4 stars and not all 5 stars Bocce ball court was covered in the roots of the trees next to it. Rooms felt a little dated but still nice for a 50+ year old resort. Spa had a couple of Hiccups. Two left sandals. And a Large robe for a someone that needs a 5xl. No horseshoe pits. Have to make your own.

Cons: Rooms could use some updating sliding doors hard to use leaking faucets

Cons: You're going to need pillows or ask for a bunch of pillows to make a normal pillow. The ones in the room are half empty and tiny.

Cons: I Dnt really have anything to say about the workers or Rooms!!! Beautiful Spot. Only problem we had was we were there for Anniversary and we Dnt get out much bcuz of our big family. I believe the hotel just made over sight but they put us next to couple w kids. let just say we needed to move w/o any more problems come about. We let the front desk know of situation and they were very polite and rush our 2nd rm. I believe everyone got a win win out of it!!

Cons: Bathroom floor needed a little extra cleaning.

Cons: The map to the hotel left off cross streets at the signal turn, so I passed it a couple of times, only difficulty was finding the hotel from the map printed with hotel info.

Cons: The shower didn't drain well. Had to ask for coffee packet after the service staff didn't clean the coffee maker or leave coffee for the next day. The air conditioner kept turning off in the middle of the night and the room became stuffy. The in room safe didn't work.

Cons: Age of facility is showing and remodelling is planned but linen and bath towels are all new and fresh and beds are very comfy.

Cons: Shower tub was not very clean. My 1 year old find an old tissue under the bed which was really gross. The staff left something to be desired.

Cons: Room was too warm at night and cool air was too loud. Bathroom sink very small, but water pressure was great. Television at a bad angle and couldn't see the full screen from bed. Only received bottled water first night, was not replenished.

Cons: Cost was outrageous for us to not be lakefront. Also the bed was single handily the dumpiest most uncomfortable bed of my life. I couldn’t sleep. Our room was dark and dingy, not fresh. Housekeeping was ok, not pristine clean. Wouldn’t stay here again!

Cons: Tried to do an early check in and it was a difficult process with absolutely no guarantee and very little information. It would have been fine if they could have just looked to see what the chances were with a possible estimated time frame. I came in at 8 am and they just said “if you do not hear from us by 4 pm then we were not able to get you early check in”

Cons: I don't really have any negative things to say.

Cons: the room was not well maintained the tub has some kind of paint over it and there was a massive chip out of it. I complained to the front desk, who would not let me speak to a manager. Therefore nothing was done to improve my situation and I have little faith that the overall issue of poor maintenance was addressed. this was in the "suites" section. I actually wanted to be in the tower and they moved us to these and said there were no rooms in the tower. So be sure to emphasize what room type you want.

Cons: Lighting in room wasn't good and exterior light didn't work.

Cons: Room was dirty esp. the bathroom. Was given a room in the 2nd floor above the lobby. Our friends who declined this floor and got a room in the high rise building had much better rooms.

Cons: The hotel was hosting a wedding reception in the parking lot with tents. These tents blocked our view of the bay. The worst experience was due to the wedding DJ that blasted a obnoxious base until late hours. Disappointing and disruptive night stay.

Cons: Room was moldy, smelly, single pane glass , so I was up most of night because of noise outside. Would not stay again -self parking was also $36/night

Cons: Paying for parking ($35 per night) $100 fee for my dog. One kind of fancy restaurant on the premises. Should have some place nearby where you can purchase coffee. We had to walk a bit to Einstein brothers which is a bagel place just to get coffee. They had coffee in the rooms but then you're using paper accessories like the cream.

Cons: Need better food options. Everything here is very expensive for less than mediocre quality. The newly named pelicans doesnt have that big of menu, only open until 10pm and is small. Red marlin also has a smaller menu, higher prices and breakfast is way to expensive. Need a "normal" restaurant for 24 hours. Gift shop closed for 30min at a time during their own business hours which is inconvenient. Not to mention a resort fee PLUS parking fee almost doubled your nightly stay price

Cons: Next time we would self park instead of valet.

Cons: The rooms could use a bit of upgrading, specifically the bathrooms need to be updated. the shower and shower hardware was not very clean or nice.

Cons: Parking price is ridiculous, cost an extra $60 just to have my car at the hotel I was staying at! The room temp was weird, would get really chilly with air on and really stuffy with it off, setting thermostat didn't help. Restaurant was nice but also pricey.

Cons: Must drive to closest pharmacy if you forget to pack something. It wasn't far but I wish there were a CVS in walking distance

Cons: We selected a room with a view. What we got was a view of trash bins. They charge a $19 resort fee per day, and you also have to pay $27/day to park in their lots. They have LOTS of "extra" fees that I was not aware of. Their bed was no better than a Comfort Inn, and at the Comfort Inn they definitely have better pillows. I expected more and received a lot less.

Cons: Better food and drink service at the pool. Better game room for the kids.
