I booked my vehicle to be picked up at the Richmond VA airport. Upon arrival at the counter I was informed that they didn’t have any cars available and that my reservation was kicked over to an enterprise office 25 minutes away. I then had to take a $40 Uber ride with my wife, 3 young kids, and 78 year old Aunt to the other office to pick the rental car up. I asked if I could return the van to the airport so I wouldn’t have to take another $40 Uber ride at 4:30AM on the day we were to return the car. I was originally told that would be fine, and then when double checking with the enterprise employee on that before driving away she then informed me that if I were to do that I would’ve be charged a $50 fee for not returning it to the same place. The van we rented didn’t look like it had been washed on the outside at all, and the inside looked like it had been quickly vacuumed by an employee with no interest in making sure the vehicle was actually clean. There was also a book in the glove compartment from the previous renter which indicated that they didn’t really go through the van before renting it to us. I called enterprise the day before we needed to return the car to get clarity on if I would be charged a fee or not. The person on the phone told me that there might be a fee, but that the office I rented the car from would call me that day to give me the details. I never heard from the office I picked the van up from and was left with the choice of return the car to an office that wouldn’t be open the next morning at 4:30 and then take a $40 Uber to the airport, or just drive to the airport and maybe be charged an extra $50. We dropped the van off at the airport (which was a very quick and easy process). I guess I will have to wait and see if I get charged an extra $50 or not. If so, I believe that should be refunded as well as the $40 Uber ride I head to take on the front end. If Enterprise is at all interested in customer satisfaction and retention, refunding me some of the original cost of the rental would be a great move in that direction and I would then be more than happy to rent with them again

The drop off was easy and efficient

Cons:

I was told that they did not have my car I reserved, then they did have it. It had no gas, so I had to wait for it to be filled up. They didn’t say anything about a $200 deposit, and they kept changing the price I paid while I was there.

between polices and their needs! Due to The environment that we are in with this Virus I’d 2020 I can not get into the DMV to change my drivers license to VA! But If I were traveling and my car broke down and I need a rental ! This would not happen at this location!?

Polices are not standard across brand! And each location is given the power to stretch or blur the line between polices and their needs! The employees at the richmond airport Budget office we're not very friendly they gave me an SUV instead of a car and SUV was a Ford not a Toyota Corolla like I asked for it was raining heavily I did not understand the car and I was not comfortable with an SUV but it was the car that they gave me and since other people were waiting in line for another car I felt I needed to just go ahead and take it I brought it back I believe the next day and said please give me a car I was afraid to drive the SUV I'm very comfortable sedans and especially Toyota brand the Ford controls were completely different from the Toyota brand and did I mention how rude the Richmond Virginia employees were at the Richmond airport unbelievable ! when I was returning the SUV the lady taking the car said what is the mileage and I said oh that's a good idea let me look at the mileage too what is that mileage? And she said oh so you're gonna do my job now huh? Excuse me? I mean was that necessary such attitudes I found not only from the budget Avis employees but just the large majority of staff in Customer Service positions were just plain rude and had such attitudes I don't know what made them so unhappy I had just met them so it wasn't my fault I just didn't understand why they were so unhappy in their jobs so leave if you hate the job there's no reason to be rude when someone has done nothing to you .

Pros:

The staff at the original budget rental we went to had poor customer service and was not friendly. After consulting many other rental car places, I was able to find one that could give us a car but it was not within the budget or the car that we requested.

Cons:

Staff friendliness, the car being ready and the correct rental that was requested, and better services all around.

Cons:

I arrived to pickup my car only to find none were available. The agents onsite were not customer service oriented. DId not offer suggestions or help with finding another rental agency. I did however go to the Avis rental agency at theRichmond Airport and they were very professional and accommodating.

There was no one at the airport counter, and a sign for dollar that was misleading. The actual rental location was a booth in the rental garage outside in the twenty degree weather. There was only one person working the holiday weekend and the process took over an hour

Drop off was very easy. The Explorer was super comfortable and easy to drive.

Cons:

Inside of car was not cleaned very well at all. Fold down seats were full of dog hair. Between the seats was a nasty baby pacifier. So discusting !!!
