terrible serviceCons:Went into the office @ 9 am on friday morning, after my wife took me in on her way to work. I waited in line for 15-20 minutes, then was finally up to speak to a rep. After i gave him the confirmation number, i was told that i was on a "Do not rent list" and was told to call a number. I left and had to get an uber back home.. While on the way home i called the 405 number and was advised that there were not any issues and for some reason there was a mix up... Therefore they removed the "Do not rent" list.... Therefore i did not get a rental. and they screwed up my morning. I will not use this company again. ThanksReviewed 5 Jun. 2017

Sales Rip-offPros:Car was fine, service at pick-up ticked us off.Cons:I travel a dozen times a year and often rent cars. Salesman at pick-up counter attempted to bully us into buying $85 of insurance we did not need. This is not uncommon but his demeanor and insistence was annoying-keeping me there 5 extra minutes to explain why I was making a terrible financial and risky decision. I have had experienced heavy handed salesman before but this guy used annoying scare tactics that were offensive. Thrifty should be ashamed. He then showed me a map of tool roads all around Dallas and insisted we needed to pre-pay tolls ($12/day) to avoid ticketing and fines due to their camera system. I had never driven Dallas-Fort Worth area before and did not know better. Later learned that only express lanes require toll, regular highway does not. So he won and Thrifty got their extra money. No doubt this salesman has done this 100 times before and makes big bucks for Thrifty. I will never rent from Thrifty again.Reviewed 5 Sep. 2017

Cons:When I rented the car, the agent at the counter did not offer me a TxTag to cover highway tolls. When I received a charge on my credit card a week later for tolls plus a $75 service fee, I was shocked. Really, a $75 service fee? Next time I rent a car I'll ask the agent at a different car rental agency about the TxTag. Thrifty has lost my business.Reviewed 7 Jun. 2020

Pros:I was dropped off in Dallas Loves field for pickup. Was upgraded from compact to a new Tacoma pickup. The Drop off in Little Rock was a little confusing due to covid -- there was a small sign at the booth on the return with instructions that took me a while but once figured out the staff was pleasant and my end bill ended up being less than quoted.Cons:A little more detail or larger sing at at the drop off for Thrifty at LIT Airport but very minor.Reviewed 15 Sep. 2020

Pros:The rental itself was fineCons:I hate how you are locked into a price and rents car company without knowing. I had to change my itinerary less than 24 hours after purchase and I couldn’t for the obvious reasons. I don’t think the money saved is worthy the lack of flexibility, I’m never using this type of service again unless it allows changes.Reviewed 30 Jun. 2020

Pros:The staff (Eldon) went out of his way to help us out when we made a mistake on our reservation. We owe him our thanks.Reviewed 7 Jul. 2020

Scam ArtistsCons:When we arrived, we were told that we could, with a $5 additional charge, get a bigger, more comfortable ride. So we went for that. An additional charge of $14 a day would pay for the tolls - what a scam - we didn't spend $14 on the whole trip at tolls. Bringing our original total cost of $468 to... wait for it... over $1,000! WHAT! Then he said because we were paying with a VISA card, we could get a discount bringing our 10 day rental to $900+. Still a ridiculous amount, but my husband was mad and said "Let's just get out of here." As we went to drive out, my husband realized that he didn't have the contract. He drove back and went back in, leaving with a new contract, handed to him in a folder. Looking at it just as we went to the exit booth, we were horrified and angered that our contract was now showing a total of over $3,000! If we hadn't noticed it before we drove off, we would have been liable for that ridiculous amount. We will NEVER use Thrifty again. They are scam artists.Reviewed 18 Apr. 2018

Pros:The cat itself was good. Dropping off was easy and painless.Cons:Picking up was horrible. There were about 10 of us or more who all had to wait outside in chaos as the workers told us to just find a car and hop in but each car was already assigned to someone else or when you walked up to a car a person was already in it. There was mass confusion and frustration. We waited a long time before we got a car. I've never seen a rental car process like this before and especially being a big Airport and rental car service, this was eye opening. I'm not looking forward to flying back into Love Field based on that.Reviewed 7 Sep. 2020

Pros:I rented the car and said I wanted to pick it up at 10 PM. When I got to the airport I was told they close at 10 PM and no one was there. Why would I be allowed to rent a car with a pick up of 10 PM when you know that they will be closed? I had to spend a miserable night in the airport and pick the car up at 7:30 the next morning when they opened. I ask the above question to the clerk when I did finally get my car. He was very un-sympathetic and said I should have known they close at 10PM that it was on the web site. I was not offered any compensation and still had to pay full price.Cons:Fix your web site so a person is not allowed to rent a car if the place is going to be closed!Reviewed 23 Mar. 2021

Pros:Stop the hidden charges. I would have paid less with enterprise. I pick thrifty because it was cheaper, except at the end it wasnt.Cons:Give real prices.Reviewed 11 Apr. 2021
