Cons: We booked the premier room through Kayak. The room we were give. Was TINY - e.g. distance between dresser and the bed was probably less than 2 feet. If I were a solo traveler, this would not have been a problem. However, with a toddler, this became an immediate safety concern. We upgraded to a deluxe room.

Cons: free breakfast isn't included anymore will the price start to rise as people discover this place?

Cons: Under construction Quinoa oatmeal everytime in breakfast buffet

Cons: Room felt "stuffy." You can hear some traffic and sounds from the nearby college.

Cons: we ordered a king bed. ended up with a twin bed.

Cons: For the money they charge there should be a pool.

Cons: Room could have been a little larger and the charge for Wi-Fi was antiquated. I would stay here again,but have stayed in nearby hotels for the same price with more amenities.

Cons: Didn't get the suites I booked.

Cons: Unfortunately, I didn't like most things about the experience. I was willing to pay a low rate for lesser quality, but for the reason that I was planning on being out for most of my weekend in the city. I think the only "luxury" thing about this hotel was the doorman, and even that was inconsistent. Pillows sucked, room looked gaudy, heating system was difficult to control, room service stops at 9pm, very little sound proofing between rooms and in the hall, and overall, not a very welcoming experience. I once lived in a tiny Russian apartment, and it felt like either that, or what I imagine a hotel straight out of the 70s would look like. Just a weird stay - would not recommend it unless you think "gaudy" is "classy."

Cons: Location was a little inconvenient for my stay.

Cons: We arrived near midnight. The valet parking at that hour is handled by a rather rude and indifferent man in a security guard uniform. Check in was rather slow. WiFi is extra.

Cons: leaky faucets that no one fixed check in process - couldn't find reservation for our second room, and parking valet unavailable lack of utensils and plates in kitchen area

Cons: $12 daily charge for wireless? Outrageous...should be free, or pay one time. Absolutely inexcusable in 2014 to charge this fee.

Cons: - The couches were stained and a complete turn off. - Internet was charged for us - Marriott on 22nd offered us free internet the previous weekend we stayed in D.C.

Cons: Called for towels, never received. Called back and informed front desk that towels weren't delivered, we were going out for the day, please have housekeeping leave extra. No extra towels were left by housekeeping. Called for a 5AM wake up call for day of our departure at 9PM the night before. We never received our wake up call.

Cons: They didn't have the king size bed we wanted.

Cons: The hotel does not have parking, so the rate offered was a bit too high. However, we found parking on the street.

Cons: When I booked, I was sure that hotel rate included "wifi" since that was listed on the confirmation I printed out. Turns out "wifi" just meant that it was available at extra cost. Why "luxury" hotels charge for this is pure greed since discount hotels don't.

Cons: Current renovations took away, but it's something that has to be done. Besides the construction the place was nice, quiet and was within walking distance to many businesses, restaurants and nightlife as well as tourist attractions.

Cons: Not as advertised. The suite was nowhere near as luxurious as advertised. There was constitution within the hotel that I was not notified about. Room prices should not have been $200 per night plus parking with the construction. Room had an outdated feel. I would love to stay again in a few years when they gut and renovate the entire hotel.

Cons: Lobby is kinda cramped. Parking is pricey.

Cons: Leaky faucet in sink in kitchenette. Dual outlet only really one outlet. Had to choose CPAP over reading light.

Cons: I'm upset that I can not get a refund!! I had to cancel my reservation due to a flight cancelation.

Cons: The fitness room. It was soooooo hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature.

Cons: DC traffic is bad during the week. If you drive there plan on walking or taking a taxi. It's not their fault, but it's the one thing I didn't like about my trip.

Cons: Perhaps I didn’t read enough fine print. But I was surprised to see the add on charge of $42 to park my car . I didn’t see the fee until checkout time.

Cons: They charge you for parking and they don't tell you. They tell you to come down for breakfast when you have to pay for breakfast after they say it's complementary.

Cons: Lobby construction. Wish i could see it when it is done

Cons: Our TV had very limited channels=only CBS and HBO. Shower head should be replaced with water=saving one.

Cons: not much could have been better- dresser drawers were inconveniently located and hard to use (didn't come out far enough) but that's down to a piece of furniture. The hotel itself was amazing.

Cons: The only minuses were the lack of a 'view' from our room and the compact size of it (though everything we needed was there).

Cons: It doesn’t measure up to its description It’s under construction and you’re restricted to entering through a side door. There are no amenities. Not even water. Couldn’t find the gym that was advertised. Never enough coffee in the dispensers and the $15 cost for a bagel breakfast is ridiculous. The $50/night parking fee is also a complete rip off. other than the bartender, the staff was pleasant but not particularly knowledgeable.

Cons: I can no flaw in our stay there. Fantastic

Cons: The drain in the bath tub would clog when I took a shower. The cable TV selection was spotty and I had to go down to the bar to watch Monday night football. Some of the wall paper is old and coming off of the wall. but other then that, no major complaints.

Cons: Breakfast was good, but plastic plates, utinsels, and paper cups brought down the charm of the hotel. Wifi should be free.

Cons: The hotel's front desk staff was rude and very inhospitable. When we arrived they didn't have the room I booked available and since I booked through a third party (kayak.com) they were extremely unaccomodating. We were a group of 4 adults and they would only offer us one room with one double bed. (Large enough to fit two but it's smaller than a queen. ) We did not understand how they expected 4 grown adults to fit in one bed but they offered us nothing else. As this was our first night in DC after traveling for 5 hours, we were extremely unhappy with this hotel's service.

Cons: I was shocked to find out upon check-in that there is a $45 per night parking fee....as well as a $9.95 daily fee for the use of "free" Wi-fi at this hotel. Needless to say, we went and found a nice, safe place to park our car for 2 days in a residential neighborhood. Our toilet did not flush...there was no fan//vent in the bathroom. Our A/C unit crapped out at about 7:15 a.m. Sunday and water came gushing out of the ceiling for about 20 minutes...took 3 calls back and forth to the front desk for them to actually send someone to repair the unit. The free breakfast was nice, but would have been better if we had actually been informed that it was only from 7a - 10a we (foolishly) "assumed" it would be till 11 a.m. The additional "charges" make this on-line bargain NOT such a bargain. Will be going to DC again in the fall and will find other accommodations.

Cons: The Embassy Row Hotel Website shows pictures of what the hotel is suppose to look like after a renovation that is coming in the Spring of 2015. As of Fall 2014, the rooms are small with poor lighting. Needless to say, the amenities are outdated. I stayed here over Labor Day Weekend 2014 and the base boards in the hallways on every guest floor were ripped off. Dehumidifiers were set up in the hallways by a company named Flood Tech. For the price, I thought I would be staying in a new, modern boutique hotel. However, until the renovation is complete The Embassy Row Hotel is old, dilapidated and apparently has a flooding problem.

Cons: Parking expensive and with there was free breakfast like neighboring hotels

Cons: In the middle of renovations. Booking through Kayak made it incredibly complicated. My original reservation was for 2 rooms, they only received one. It was a mess at check-in and check-out trying to get through to them that i pre-paid for two rooms. Probably wont be staying there again.

Cons: The only bar is on the rooftop, which is OK except during inclement weather, the bar is closed. There was a light wind on Friday evening (no rain) and the bar was closed before 7pm. Also, the reception area seems inefficient; I stood in line for 20 minutes attempting to check in to my room. I was tired and hungry. Other than that, the hotel was good.

Cons: Charged $9.95 per day hotel fee but no on could explain what it was for. Breakfast was poor. Small rooms older hotel, small rooftop pool

Cons: The hotel is under major construction. At first, it wasn't even clear how to enter the building. Then we figured out that we needed to enter through the parking garage. The front desk is a small kiosk by the elevators. It's still a decent choice for the price if you're mostly concerned about location.

Cons: Some issues with the AC. It was ok, just not ideal.

Cons: breakfast was included but boring. each morning, same uninteresting basics. exercise room was useless. inadequate.

Cons: The service is poor with many of their desk staff having trouble with English particularly on the evening/night shift. The breakfast area is so small that not once did I get a table for breakfast. There were flies floating in the juice one morning and the toaster smoking for over 10 minutes another morning making a terrible smell. The hotel is under construction at present as well, which they don't tell you until you step off the evaluator at your floor into a construction zone. My hopes are not high for the product as I had what appeared to be a renovated room and their were numerous poor construction problems e.g. one can't turn on the tap in the sink without holding down the base. I could go on. Finally when there was a problem the hotel staff blamed getaroom who I used to book ad getaroom blamed the hotel. Net net nothing was done. I will try not to stay here again and never use getaroom.

Cons: Tired and shabby hotel under renovation. Small dark room with scarce amenities. Public space and room smelled of insect repellent. Inadequatesecurity; the room key was only required to access the pool floor. Several steps and no elevator to the lobby. They hit you with a $10 "facilities fee" before you check out for "using the phone etc" which is in the fine print when you check in and not shown in the rate quoted for Kayak.

Cons: Fitness center was missing cardio equipment. The rooms of the hotel are a bit outdated.

Cons: There were no ice machines, the wifi never worked the whole time we were there and they charged you for it. We had to call maintenance 4 times because AC would not turn off.

Cons: Can't believe the hotel is still under renovation which is why I initially hesitated to book it. Areas near the elevator look terrible and my bathroom wall had holes in it. Front desk person seemed irritated when I was checking out early the next morning and needed to get my car out of valet. Overrnight parking is $45 plus add'l tax, ouch!

Cons: the hotel was in a very poor shape. The room was not clean and while the staff is friendly the hotel is overall in a poor condition. Not worth the price paid. There's also a 'service fee' which they make you aware of and charge it on your card only during check-out (therefore you are given no option of opting out). Also there is no breakfast even though they advertise it on their booking site.

Cons: Service could have been more professional. Hotel seemed understaffed. Pool area needs more lounge chairs as seating was very limited. Rooftop bar offerings were limited and bartender skill was somewhat below expectations for such a cool space.

Cons: Hotel did not have my confirmation from Kayak. I had to wait 45 to check in while they figured it out. Front desk was understaffed, so long line to check in. Called down to ask for deodorant, but hotel ran out so they told me to try the CVS. Didn't have a hair dryer in my bathroom, so called down an requested one, but no one ever came to deliver it.

Cons: Rooms are a little dated, but it looks like they are in the process of updating.

Cons: Check in at 1am was a bit rough and staff was not very friendly. Being giving some information or offer of any help or to answer questions would have been nice. Knowing about the breakfast foods in the AM would have made things a little nicer also.

Cons: We were given a handicapped room and the bathroom facilities made it difficult to shower and relax. We were also told there was no charge on parking when booking and then charged.

Cons: The hotel is in poor shape. Outdated, poorly staffed, and lacking facilities. The rooms are old and the bathrooms moldy. The elevators don't work. The staff was rude and very hard to find. It took forever just to check in. Also beware they charge an extra "service fee" which is not included in the price to cover "amenities" but you can't opt out and it charges separately to your card.
