I would never rent from Ace. Read the reviews. They allow you to book a vehicle and they cancel on you the same day. We arrived in Hawaii and received a voicemail that they no longer had a vehicle for us. Completely unacceptable.Reviewed 21 Feb 2026

Landed at the airport in Maui and went to the shuttle pick up. Our name was on the pick up list but "it wasn't highlighted" therefore the driver wasn't "allowed" to drive us to the office for our car. Come to find out it's because ACE gave away our car, despite having a reservation. This left us stranded at 445pm and scrambling to find a rental car. They gave away their last vehicle around 9am too and at no point decided to email, text or call me to at least let me know so I could find other accommodations. We waited over 45 mins for the shuttle that’s supposed to come every 10/15 mins. When calling they just kept saying it was on the way. If I would have known how long it would take I would have taken an Uber to save valuable vacation time. Once in the office it took I er 45 mins to be in a vehicle. Deceptive and bad business practices. They claimed liability insurance was required by the state of Hawaii, which is false. It’s optional. This led to an additional 30 a day charge, that was unnecessary. Not only that, they overcharged me - for fuel even though I returned the car with a full tank and they charged me an additional day of the liability insurance.
