If you must have a car rental reservation, make sure there’s free cancellation in case of extremely long pick-up line. Other rental companies will have similar cars available without the wait and will price match. Also Costco gas is literally next to the drop-off area so keep that in mind if you’re a member.

When you get in the car, have your phone flashlight or something available and on. Quickly open the door, and check for bugs. They scatter quick. But they only come out in the dark. Not sure I got the best deal. I rented through Kayak and was quoted a price. My CC got compromised shortly after ordering my car through Kayak. When I went to pickup my car at Sixt the agent wanted my CC used to rent the car. I asked why it was already paid. I told him what happened the the CC. He said he would have to cancel the prior reservation, and start over. When all said and done I feel the car cost was more than the orignal reservation. Did not want to hassle with it as long as I got refunded my orignal purchase. Six days later the refund posted. The guy at the counter was nice but the whole process did not make since given the car had already been paid and appoved. Any additional expenses should have been applied to the new CC. When checking out the rental no one walked through the car inspection. No way to document any damage observed prior to driving off. Also no option to pay for fuel in advance or at least it was never explained. Most agencies tell you the cost of fuel at the rental car and give you the option to pay in advance. Checking the car in the lady was friendly and inspected the car thoroughly same thing should be done initialy ensuring the leasee understands the features of the car. I had one experience where I failed to shut the drivers door completely and when I tried to to put the car in reverse it locked up and would go saying parking assist engaged. Spent 20 minutes playing with the car until i realized that the car would not engage because the door had not completely closed. I would rent from them again.
There wait to pickup the car on a Thursday afternoon in Maui was lengthy. There were only 3 agents working and a line of 20 plus guests. It took well over an hour and we had paid for and reserved the car weeks earlier. That’s very poor customer service. The price I paid was the only thing that saved it for me-it was more than 1/2 off thru Kayak then directly thru Budget, even with Costco or AAA discounts.

We were "upgraded" to a Ford Explorer-too big of a car for us. We asked for something smaller and agent said she'd change the vehicle. When we arrived at the car...it was a Ford Explorer. Our name was on the pick up list but "it wasn't highlighted" therefore the driver wasn't "allowed" to drive us to the office for our car. Come to find out it's because ACE gave away our car, despite having a reservation. This left us stranded at 445pm and scrambling to find a rental car. They gave away their last vehicle around 9am too and at no point decided to email, text or call me to at least let me know so I could find other accommodations. DO NOT RENT FROM ACE.

Did NOT know that Enterprise rental office was OFF AIRPORT AND CLOSED when we landed. Website needs to make this VERY CLEAR! Taxi charged $150 bucks to hotel then had to Uber back to Enterprise the next for another fee. Any savings was totally wiped out but the transport fee’s.
I was double-billed for this car: $454.29 from QEEQ.com who placed the rental order and $619.64 from Budget. When I disputed this double charge, Budget said I was late for picking up my car, so the original order had been cancelled and new order placed. I stood in line for the rental car for over one hour -- that's why I didn't pick up the car on time. I was there, the rental desk was understaffed and the line of renters was very long.

My reservation pricing details were vastly different than my confirmation ($1100+ vs $400+). Was told the manager would fix it in the system before I got to the representative who clears you to leave in the parking lot. That didn’t happen and I had to go back inside for 20 more mins to get it cleared up. They said it was all good however, now I’m being charged an additional $80 over the initial price. Rental cars shouldn’t be this complicated. Now I have to spend more time calling to get this fixed.
