Pros:Front desk staff was good and helpful. Pickup and drop off staff was indifferent, almost rude.Cons:Prices are fake and rules for being late not visible anywhere. I ended up paying 4 times the original price because I got there 2 hours late and they claimed my reservation expired. No email related to the reservation mentioned anything about that. I was expecting some extra charges for the usual insurance things that these companies make you pay, but I paid more than that. I'd never rent a car using kayak or this specific company again.Reviewed 3 Nov 2019

Pros:Probably my fault for not reading the fine print and booking a non refundable rental.Cons:I purchased insurance when I booked. When I got there they told me if I didn't purchase an additional 67 euro of insurance id need to leave a1400euro liability deposit as well as 144euro deposit for fuel which would be locked out of my account for 30 days. I don't have that kind of money and didn't want to create overdraft fees, and wasn't willing to spend the extra 67 as I was renting the car for less then a day. Long story short I realized it was better to cut my losses with the 30something euros I'd already spent and just walk away. I'd never be willing to let over 1500euro potentially provide liability for other ace customers for over a month for a days rental.Reviewed 14 Oct 2019

ACE=Goldcar in MADCons:Long story short got charged for damage that was not there. I believe with all my heart they charged me a damage fee cause they know my american credit card will pay for it and they are right (no deductible too) Scam!!!!Reviewed 23 Aug 2017

Pickup/dropoff dififcult, unexpected insurance costPros:Car was clean and agent was helpful and the car was clean and well prepared.Cons:Hard to find the gold car/Rhodium office that represents Ace rental cars. There was no description of the rental office location in reservation. the agent told me that if i was going to portugal i needed to purchase additional insurance. this was not mentioned anywhere in the reservation.Reviewed 23 July 2017

Pros:When I got to the airport I asked for ACE and no one knew anything about it or where it was. So, I had to rent elsewhere. I am still not sure it even exists there! It is a terrible way to arrive in a country and find out my reservation was on another country ending doing a diffrent reservation with a diffrent companyReviewed 5 June 2017

Cons:They didnt tell me that the car company is "goldcar", no body know what or who is Ace company in airport. Ace company rent from another car companies cars- they never mantion that! And also they didnt tell me that i supposed to go to Gold car or something familear and they didnt answer me when i was calling. The car i ordered was talken by other customer and i paid 60 Earo extra!!! to rent another car i wasnt ask.Reviewed 3 May 2017

Many hidden feesPros:Overall the rental process was smooth and the car decent.Cons:After pre-purchasing coverage, at the counter the agent tried to pressure me into buying even more coverage and then when I declined, they placed an $1100 hold on my credit card for any possible scratches or damage. Be very careful with this company and understand wPros:By far the lowest price I could find. The car was fine except for the fact that the low tire pressure light was on when I picked it up.Cons:Published rate is great but it does not include any insurance. When picking the car they tell you that you will need to pay a large sum as deposit (1,100 euros in my case) if you do not get insurance (which is offered at about the same as the basic rate, doubling the cost). Also, service is limited if you do not get it, you are on your own if you have a problem with the car outside of regular business hours. I got the deposit back after the rental but exchange rate spreads in paying for it and getting it back cost me around 50% of the rental price (still very competitive, but hey!). Ace does not exist as a brand in Spain, they operate as GoldCar. It took me 30 minutes at the airport to figure this out. Low tire pressure light was on when I picked it up. The person that gave me the car said that most likely the light had not been reset by the maintenance people, but later I confirmed that the pressure on one of the tires was really low so I had to pump it up.
