Great AdvantagePros:Pickedup and returned car at Advantage in Charlotte airport, NC. Convenient, excellent value for money. Car was practically new, clean, smooth driving, good on petrol use. Very Poor ServicePros:They didn't charge me to cancel their garbage service. There's a win.Cons:Despite what is advertised online, Advantage only allows an average of 150 miles/day if renting locally--beyond that, $0.55/mile. At this rate, a trip from Charlotte, NC to Chicago, IL and back will cost you about $250 more than advertised. This is the only company I know that does this. Very slow service at the CLT location. Had to wait over 20 minutes to find out they were about to try and screw me over. Asked for a lot of insurance information for coverage. Of course, I didn't have any of that on me since I was dropped off to pick up the rental. When I asked about other coverage options, I wasn't provided any other than to call my insurance provider's customer service. Out of frustration, I walked the extra 20 feet to a competitor with no reservation a few days before Christmas and got a car with coverage and unlimited miles all within 10 minutes. And for only about $100 more than Advantage would have charged me for the reservation I made 6 weeks in advance. I would recommend any other option over Advantage.Reviewed 29 Dec. 2016

There needs to be a class action lawsuit and invesCons:Since I got the rental to drive last minute to see my mom who was just diagnosed with cancer, I didn't take the time to read all of the consumer reports reviews on Advantage. Not only was the pickup process terrible, they over charged me by $200 on my rental when I got by bill. After calling and emailing Advantage repeatedly, they still haven't responded about this. I checked consumer reports and the experience just like many others. Kayak should shoulder some responsibility for having a partnership with such a low life company. If I don't receive retribution for the overcharge I will take legal action on both Kayak and Advantage even if it costs 50 times the overcharge amount. Hidden informationPros:The only reason I booked with them was because of their price.Cons:But I guess you get what you pay for. When I first booked the car online nowhere did it say of you are in-state you have to have a credit card or that you have limited mileage. How is this fair when if I was from out of town I got unlimited miles and could use a debit card for the 200 deposit??? Getting to the place is where they tell you all of that. Since I dont have a credit card I waisted money on a reservation with them. They wouldn't let me add another driver to the policy since the reservation was done online (yet online...it's not an option to add another driver). I couldn't use someone's else's credit card with the same last name as me (and who was right there with me to give consent for the use of their card) yet at other car rental companies I have done that before in the past. I needed a car and theirs was cheaper so I ended up getting another reservation with them in someone else's name. With this reservation (although it was also done online) I could now all of a sudden and an additional driver to it. They said when we turn the car back in, any occurred charges could be paid for with another card. When we brought the car back, they lied and said they wouldn't charge us for an additional driver however, they did anyways placing that charge on a credit card that no charge should have been made to. I had absolutely no problem paying for the additional driver, however it would have been done with a debit card so don't lie to me about where it's getting charged to not mess up people's credit status.Reviewed 10 Dec. 2018

Pros:Staff was friendly and rates were good; however, the lines were very, very long picking up the car and as well as returning the car. Once again they had the Rental Counter closed in the Termnal so people had to go to the car pick-up/return area to rent the cars and return the cars. People had been waiting over 45 minutes to check out a car and people returning cars were also having to wait in the same line. I finally had to leave without a printed receipt. The excessive wait times is not a good situation when trying to catch a flight.Reviewed 22 Apr. 2016

Cons:Break light was out and had a warning message in my dashboard window. It should have been fixed before I rented it. I called Advantage customer service about it. The person I spoke with said I had to return it to the Airport in Charlotte; which was 1.5 hours away from me (i was vacationing in Columbia, SC). Then he said I could alternatively go to Atlanta, GA or Jacksonville, FL... !! Are you kidding me !!!!!??? This was my vacation. He also could not believe that I didn't catch the problem prior to leaving the airport. Am I suppose to check all of the electrical components / controls ?? Really ??? I did the usual walk around with the agent at the Charlotte airport to check for dents / chips in paint, etc... The CS representative finally said he could create a ticket to resolve the issue. Another person called me back later and said I could get the break light fixed anywhere in Columbia and be re-imbursed. Not what I want to do on my vacation, but I did it. Had to go back to the Firestone dealership 3 times because they misdiagnosed and had a hard time fixing. It seems the break light is a relatively knew type and they finally got the right one. The Advantage sales agent was also late - he showed up at 5:20 am instead of 5 am at CLT so I had to wait. He did not apologize at all. He also did not offer insurance at all. He also was not willing to even tell me what the minimum car insurance is in accordance with the law. He was extremely rude. The only one who apologized to me was the woman who parks cars as they are returned and gets them ready for new customers. The guy and other woman (who processed paperwork) were very rude to me. I did not get any financial redemption at all for my troubles. Terrible service overall and definitely would discourage anyone I know from using Advantage.Reviewed 12 Apr. 2018

false advertisingCons:My reservation email stated that I got unlimited miles however once I got there they told me no it didn't come with unlimited miles. I showed them my email and printout that stated unlimited miles and they basically said my email didn't matter. I had to pay an extra 100 for unlimited miles so the total ended up being way more than the competitors price. I asked for manager and they gave me the run around. Not worth the $$$Pros:The best part of the rental? Dropping it off. At least the clerk who checked the rental back in was kind and pleasant. Shes the ONLY one! WAS NOT WORTH THE MONEYCons:harsh, abrasive front counter girl who obviously didnt think customer service was of value 2. Being TOLD i had to wait 45 min without any 'oh Im sorry' or I apologize for the wait or any explanation why. I finally inquired, it was because they supposedly didnt have any cars available yet. How do you overbook your rental cars like that??? 3. The ad said "Jeep cherokee or similar " but they DO NOT have any Jeep cherokees so isnt that false advertising? 4) VERY rude women who hand out the keys to a dirty, cigarette stained vehicle. There was another Santa Fe available it was clean had been washed and was not all stained or burned on the inside. I asked if I could have that one instead because I was the only one who had been around waiting for 45 minutes for a vehicle. She slammed the keys down on the counter said take it or leave it . This was So rude in fact I stooped to their level and called one what she was a rude biotch! 5) no washer fluid, light on saying needs service I guess theirs a reason why Id never heard of this company before and I will NEVER EVER EVER use them again!!Reviewed 12 Dec. 2015

Pros:Car was very nice. Pickup went well.Cons:No one was there at drop off. They said they would be there at 5:30am on saturday . Several other folks were there to drop off or pick up a car.
