SATELLITE RADIO NEVER WORKED!Cons:I asked and paid for Syrius satellite radio. When I picked up car in San Jose airport building I couldn't ACCESS any stations via Syrius. Rental attendant told me they didn't work in the rental building but would when I drove outside. But when I started off on my trip, I STILL couldn't access satellite AND I NEVER DID! I had a 5 hour trip in the car by myself when I planned to listen to music and enjoy the drive, but instead I experienced 5 hours of frustration and irritation while constantly having to change standard stations and read advertisements on the screen telling me to call an 800 number to pay for a months worth of SATTELITE RADIO! I might not use Alamo again!Reviewed 8 Oct. 2017

Service was shaky.Pros:Loved driving the car. But that's really more of Fiat's deal, isn't it?Cons:Well, the service was slow. It seems like the process really drags on. Each customer took a long time (there were some language barriers) while i was in line, and then it just seemed slow going. On the return, i was told to stop into the office, but not why, other than "they screwed up." Then the representative at the desk tapped at his computer for a while, a couple times calling for help, without ever telling me what was going on. Just a lot of waiting around, really, with no communication or customer service. Seems like a little competency and communication could have gone a long way.Reviewed 11 Apr. 2016

Alamo SJCPros:In the airport Short line and self serviceCons:Greeter system which requires you to wait in garage for greeter to direct you to a car. Waited 20-25 minutes while greeters where assisting other customers just for her to tell me in one sentence where to choose a car. Since you have to show ID, the keys and your rental agreement at the security gate I don't think you need a greeter to direct you to a car especially when the cars are specifically located in their specific class in different locations on the lot. A lot of redundant and inefficient practices. Which surprised me since Alamo is a big business and should know better.Reviewed 28 Dec. 2016

Pros:Easy drop-off, manager was terrific -- very interested in my renting experience.Cons:The employee who checked me in seemed like he had retired from years of successfully frustrating folks at the DMV. Several people were waiting for cars, with the employee working solo. This is not the employee's fault if staffing was a bit light. That said, the employee did not let the line increase his/her work tempo -- no sense of urgency whatsoever. Fortunately, the longer-than-anticipated wait could have been avoided. I want to see employees working hard, perhaps even acknowledging that they know the line is long and they will do their best to get to us as soon as possible. When there is no attempt to work at a more rapid pace so that customers can minimize their wait time, it is disheartening and quite frustrating. Rental vehicle was very clean inside. The only nitnoid thing I'd mention is that the external mirrors were laden with water spots, which reduced their utility.Reviewed 2 Nov. 2019

Pros:Checkout was very fast and efficient.Cons:It was pouring rain, and there wasn't a covered walkway to get to the terminal, which was annoying. But, that's true for all rentals at SCJ.Reviewed 29 Apr. 2016

Cons:Pricing was misrepresented on the site and through partner sites. When booking it said unlimited mileage, but a daily unlimited mileage fee was added at the counter and by then there were no other rental options. In effect, the overall price was nearly double what was estimated.Reviewed 1 Jul. 2019
