I had to cancel the reservation because they did not have the type of vehicle that I requested.Reviewed 19 Mar 2024

The man who helped me at the counter in SLC who I believe is named Joshua Da Jemente, is very slow and incommunicative which makes for a very frustrating customer service experience. I have dealt with him twice in 3 months, same situation both times. Fortunately the man downstairs in the garage, Frank, was very helpful, and although overall I had to wait an hour for my car, which I had reserved for earlier than I arrived at the counter, he got me into the car relatively quickly once I went downstairs. I strongly urge Budget to look into this franchise. After 15 minutes of paperwork (!), the man at the counter finally tried to call downstairs to determine which car was ready for me to use. No one answered. He seemed helpless. The other person at the counter had left, so he was by himself. He finally went inside the office and a woman came out and communicated to me what was happening: a car was in fact being prepared, and once the car was ready, I'd be escorted downstairs with my paperwork, which seems totally unnecessary. Give it to the customer, they can take it to the car and drive off. They finally said I could go downstairs to the garage and wait there and my paperwork would follow, that the guy who was "helping" me would bring it. I was very doubtful and frustrated. When I got to the garage office, the man there, Frank, immediately responded, made sure the car was being cleaned and did the paperwork himself, printed it out, and once the car was ready - just 5-10 mins later, got me in it and helped me hoist my luggage up into the HUGE car. The final issue that I am frustrated by is that I reserved a Chevy Impala and was given a Ford Expedition which is massive and not comfortable to drive as it is far too big. I had no choice but to take what I was given and get on the road. Due to Budget, I had already lost an additional hour and 15 minutes of daylight. Why is the car not ready, set aside, with contract and keys for me when I arrive at the counter? This franchise at SLC airport seems poorly managed - or maybe they need to update the inventory that they tell Kayak is available, as clearly the car I booked was not available.Reviewed 13 Dec 2023

The customer rep was cold and unengaged. There were additional charges and they placed a 850 dollar hold on the rental.Reviewed 13 Nov 2023

The car had a lot of bird poop on it. Also, what we reserved was unavailable, so we had to spend more money on gas for a larger car with no adjustment to our rental rate. Besides that, though, it was great. The truck was in perfect condition and very clean.Reviewed 30 Oct 2022

Your system had an issue so I couldn't get the vehicle I rented. That left me stranded at the airport. I had to use uber and a bus to get where I was going.Reviewed 19 Sept 2022

Cons:Took too long to get the car. Only one counter employee. Price for a 5 day rental was more than my round trip airline tickets for 2 people.Reviewed 20 May 2021

Pros:Cleanliness of vehicle.Cons:At the time of making the reservation budget states that a full size SUV would be a Chevy Tahoe or similar. That’s the kind of vehicle I was expecting (Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada, Toyota Sequoia, Toyota Land Cruiser, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe) but I was given a Dodge Durango, a midsize crossover with 7 seats. Then at the counter they state that a Durango is pretty much a Tahoe which is a little bit lower to the ground. My family of 6 people had to carry luggage on their legs because of the small trunk with all the seats up. I explained the situation to Cody (manager in charge) he asked me to come back at 11pm that same day because we would receive a Ford Expedition. Once I went there, Cody’s shift ended so the manager in charge was Mark, which he did not have any information provided by Cody related to my particular situation. He asked me to come back at 7am the following morning so they can be plenty of vehicles and more likely they’d have a real full size suv available. So I went to the airport a third time but this time I arrived at 5:30am and I started looking at all the rental that were just returned. The third vehicle in that line was a Toyota Sequoia, so I said to myself. “Just wait until 7 as they requested but there’s a Sequoia there that may be assigned to me” and at 7am I went to the counter, by that time there was a GMC Yukon and a Ford Expedition that arrived later in that time frame and guess what: Mark was already gone, too. There was a lady with curly hair which I wish I remembered her name. She was the manager in charge of the lot at that moment, I explained the situation one more time and she is a little bit rude saying. This process will take at least 1:30hrs. I kindly explain that the sequoia is just the third vehicle in the line, and if she has a customer with special situation why not to help right away and have the detailing team to move 2 cars, so they can work on the sequoia and expedite the process for her and me. And she refused m, in fact, gave me some attitude. So at that point I gave up, felt really frustrated with the customer service and ended up losing 5 hours of my time in total by going 3 times to the airport and doing everything requested by the MANAGERS OF THE PLACE. That means that my family carried luggage through 1,500 miles on top of their legs inside a vehicle due to a lack of communication and/or not caring about the customer.Reviewed 19 Feb 2021
